It has been some time since I had my hair done here, but it's the first/last time I had a trim/style/color works done during the whole Covid sitch. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. This a no-tip salon but the final bill was really high, so I may as well have tipped massively. I believe my cost was around $180, which is the most I've paid for just a cut/color. My biggest issue was that after spending that much money, my color which is the biggest part of the cost, didn't really change. So, Why would anyone want to drop almost 200 bucks and look the same. Out of about 40 people I work with, just 1 single person noticed my hair had changed. While in the salon, there were only 2 people working, my stylist and a receptionist.The receptionist was sure to compliment my stylist in front of me while I'm there. But, it felt really odd. I am the one paying so I am the one who should feel satisfied. It felt like it was trying to convince me to like it if they're were complimenting in front of me. I don't know, it was just weird and I spent so much money to walk out looking the almost the exact same. I called panicked and the owner answered and was so kind! She got me in the same day with Kate who was lovely, listened and fixed my hair! Between my husband and me, we've been here 4x since COVID hit. Their COVID protocols are all on point. Yes, it's hard to socially distance when you're getting your hair cut, but we both felt safe here each time (and we're borderline germaphobes). We both have curly/wavy hair and Audrey is the best stylist we've found in Denver... after nearly 6 years of looking! She's also sweet and bubbly, which helps pass the time. Their pricing is great, especially for an Aveda salon. The inside is bright and airy--quite different (somehow) than Namaste, which used to be there. FYI, their prices are going up $5 by April and another $5 by July; BUT tips are included and really, it's fair pricing considering the quality of the cut and the products they use. read more

Scheduled a men's haircut here. I wear my hair long/floppy. Needed a trim and shaping after weeks in quarantine. They had stylists available, and of course, they were open! The ladies were very welcoming, practicing COVID precautions. Kept my mask on all throughout the cut. Loved the pricing structure where gratuity is already built it, or rather they mention there's no need to worry about tipping. Hair turned out great! Still long-ish/floppy the way I wear it, but more manageable. I found a spot to go back to. The stylists here know what's up. They are a welcome add to Cap Hill's neighborhood offerings. read more

Her calmness and peaceful demeanor during a facial really helps me to relax and enjoy myself, I even fell asleep! Both times I have had Bethany for my aesthetician and she is FANTASTIC! She makes me comfortable right away, is very knowledgeable about products and customizes the treatments to help my skin glow. I've had a really good experience at 3 cutters over the years - and one thing I've really valued is the fact that in between cuts, bang trims/clean ups were complimentary. That changed last week. On my most recent cleanup - I was charged an additional $20 for less than 15 minutes in the chair. I did not authorize the charge, and I only found out about the charge via my emailed receipt. It's really hard to justify paying upwards of $75 per month for a men's cut that probably takes less than 30 minutes total. And, to make things worse, apparently the policy is only at the Cap Hill store - when I called the Wash Park store, they said clean ups were complimentary. Incredibly disappointing that I'll now have to look elsewhere - and I hope Cap Hill changes their policy - especially for those of us who don't take up a ton of stylist's time but are willing to pay good money for the service and experience. Edit: 5/23 - Appreciate Justin's response - to clarify: I was only provided a refund after calling multiple times on Saturday (and leaving message), emailing, and then calling again multiple times today (Tuesday). I was not offered a refund, I had to ask for it because I felt it was inappropriate to charge someone without notifying them about the change in policy. I did receive the refund after sharing that was my expectation - but I was still concerned to learn how limited the information the teammate had about this policy shift - and further concerned that when calling Wash Park - I was told that this service was complimentary. All I'd ask is if you're going to start charging for a service you've historically made a part of your complimentary "benefits" - you owe it to your customers to send a broad communication about this shift (including posting in your stalls). Whether people want to pay for that service is another question - for me, as I shared in my review, I have a really hard time justifying paying for a service that takes 10 minutes - when I'm already paying at least 2x the price I'd pay from another salon for a men's/above shoulder cut. read more

I would still recommend 3 Cutters, but I will definitely not recommend the specialist Amy. Regardless what a terrible haircut I got, the worst part of the experience was Amy's poor attitude and her terrible service. Part 2- Touch base part experiences: 1. Amy refused to clean the chair when I pointed the wet spots on the chair. (Who ever ask client to sit on wet chair regardless it was water, or sanitizer, or whatever?!) I eventually had to wipe the wet spots with my own hands. 2. Amy didn't inform me that I would only have 15 min for touch-base, and need to prepare my hair before I came in. I had a hair bun when I came in, Amy just cut on the curvy hair which the hair was NOT able to show any style at all. I asked her to spray some water to the end of the hair so that my hair go back to normal then I would see what kind of hairstyle I got, she refused to do so. Amy just said she does not have any more time, just like the first time I came in. Therefore, I literally got kicked out without even seeing what hairstyle I got. Part 1 - Original haircut experience. 1. Amy complained about my arms in her way in a RUDE way when I was holding my hair up for her while she was putting the cutting Collar. 2. She was consistently looking at her messages while she was cutting my hair. She even dropped the comb onto the floor. 3. She still kicked me out of the salon when I was asking her to fix the hair cause it didn't look good when I put it up as a ponytail. I believe a great haircut would look good either down or up. This is just the WORST haircut experience I have ever had in my life. I never leave bad comments for people, this time Amy's attitude just really pissed me off. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. read more

I just received the most beautiful blonde bombshell highlights from Ashley at Three Cutters Capitol Hill! Ashley was absolutely amazing in her consultation and asked me questions I've never been asked before to really get a good feel for what I was striving for with my long blonde hair. The results were gorgeous and she went above and beyond to get these desired results. I also received a lovely trim as I'm trying to grow my hair as long as possible. She cut it perfectly so I still have my length and it looks much healthier than before the cut. Ashley also recommended that I tone my hair in between highlights to keep it icy blonde for a longer period. I booked a brow lamination through ClassPass and was emailed the next day from Three Cutters to let me know the tech was unavailable and I needed to reschedule. No explanation or reason and when I called to figure out why that had happened (I have a wedding to attend this weekend) I was informed the owner is who handles the classpass reservations and the systems do not talk to each other so scheduling is never right. He did an amazing job giving her just the cut she wanted customizing it to her hair type and texture. He took the time during her consultation after looking at her pictures to give suggestions and make sure she was going to get what she wanted. She left so happy you could see her smile thru her mask. The remainder of my visit was very awkward and I don't think the stylist did as good a job finishing up as they were visibly upset.
