Frills Country resort is a great place to book for a family vacation! However my family and I weren't aware of the water issue, we only had 1 hour to use the water then after that time period they'll shut it off, so we had to fill our tubs up with water to be prepared. [The front office did provide water jugs.] The water did stay on for more than 1 hour, only issue is the water pressure will go down a little bit. The cabin my family and I stayed at is "Lone-star". It is an amazing cabin, very big on the inside. Very clean, and organized. Every room in the house was perfect. I would say it fits 13people in there, but everybody had their own bed, and shower. There is no wifi which is not good, since they offer cable tv so it should've came with it in my opinion. Our neighbors were very friendly, great place! Overall we had the best time and loved the cabin... might go back this coming weekend again read more

An absolute nightmare. Let's see, where to start. No sheets on the bed or pillows when we pulled back the covers. No soap, no bath towels or towels of any sort. And, no one at the office to help us solve it at 9pm - not a resort, but more of a buyer beware. Do not stay here unless you want to camp and bring all your own stuff. Update. By 10pm they had someone bring us the missing towels, sheets, pillow cases, soap and shampoo. I cannot recommend this place - never had to check to see if sheets were on the bed before. read more

Stayed in a cabin during hunting season. We got stranded for 2 or 3 days after the river flooded us in. Management kept us informed the entire time. When the water subsided enough to cross, they informed us that we had a very small window of time to get out...they were right. We got across about an hour before we would've been stranded again. On top of that, they didn't charge my credit card a penny over what my normal stay should've been. read more

Our only issue with the stay was that the washer and dryer were broken. We had packed planning on using them, consequently we ran out of clean clothes. Not a huge deal, cause we spent lots of time in bathing suits anyway. Contacted management on the second day of a 6 day stay, someone came out to check it, told us it would have to be replaced, they would contact the owners. No follow up, no more communication about it, even though we asked two more times. read more

Perfect!!! There were 4 of us and we had a cabin right by the pool, and easy walking to the river. The water was down, but we enjoyed just sitting in the river (days later, it flooded, but obviously no one has control over that!!!), and it was great to have the pool (most other cabins in the area do not). A washer/dryer was not a requirement for us for a weekend stay, but it sure was nice to have the dryer. Will definitely stay here again. Just wish it wasn't such a long drive from Dallas! read more

My family and I plus two friends of our daughter stayed here in July 2018. It was a great location but the water was low. We did find a good spot at the Third Crossing, just about 3 miles up the road with a reasonable parking price. The RV section of the resort was nice and clean, including the bathrooms. We weren't far from Garner, House Pasture Cattle Company, and there was a daily shuttle available for tubing excursions further away. read more

The Cabins were vey well equipped. The website said towels would be provided but they didn't say that you had to rent them. Luckily one of my daughters was coming in later and stopped and bought towels on her way in. One or two dish towels were provided so you may want to bring a couple extra since there was no dishwasher. (I didn't expect all the conveniences. No dishwasher was ok. ). The river was at a good level when we were there. And the pool was clean and inviting as well. Overall good experience. BE SURE TO PACK THE FOOD YOU NEED! Stores in the area are few and crowded as well as pricey! read more

We ended up leaving a day early because our cabin (Beach Club) smelled like sewage and they didn't offer us any $ back. You would think for paying $300/night, your cabin wouldn't smell like sewage. In addition, none of the front desk workers are wearing masks. read more

We've stayed at FCR's "Agaritaville" cabin for the past two summers and it has been great. The FCR store is great and very well stocked and their campground offers river access to all who book through them. They only lose a star because the beds at this particular cabin are horribly uncomfortable. Good thing we were exhausted from our river fun and didn't care too much. read more

My family has been renting homes with Frio Country Resort for the last few years. Checking in and out has always been easy. They respond quickly whenever we call. For example, last year our pool became cloudy. We called and someone was there that day working on our pool. We have never had a problem with Frio Country and I will continue to use them in the future. read more

Well, we had horrible draught this summer and we really just sat in our puddles rather than floated down the river. It would have been perfect had there been more water. The cabin was great- very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The washer/dryer worked and were appreciated, and the upstairs kids bunk room was perfect. The only reason for a 4star rather than a 5 is that this house is not on the river and you need to drive (not such a safe walk for kids) to launch into the river. read more

Our favorite thing about the resort was the peacefulness. We visited during the off season so it didn't encounter many people. The people we did, were very friendly. The cabin was simple yet provided what we needed for a relaxing get away. We were a late arrival, but the gate and door code were left for us and we had no issues. This was my first time to the area. We had such an awesome trip! This place is great & so convenient. Cute little cabins, 2 rope swings in walking distance. Easy access to get everywhere. We would def stay there again. I do agree, the beds are not very comfortable. But they are so affordable at that price, so you shouldn't expect Hilton bedding. read more

Frio Country is the best place to experience the Hill Country of Texas. You've got the river to float and rope swings for play time. You can fish, swim in the pool, or go dance and have a beer. We recently stayed at Frio Country Resort. Everything was great except the cabin behind us sang karaoke 2 nights in a row until 3am. We didn't call the first night but mentioned to the office the next morning. Was told they had several complaints and it would be addressed. Quiet time was 11pm. The 2nd night it was quiet until around 11:30 pm and then they started singing karaoke again until 3am. I called at 1:30am & was told someone would be sent to ask them to cease. That obviously didn't happen because they didn't stop until 3am. Mentioned to office the next morning at checkout and she apologized. Staff in office was very friendly, cabin was decent, and enjoyed the location. I understand wanting to have a good time but I also believe rules should be followed and management should have done more especially since I wasn't the only one to complain. read more

This place was amazing!!!! We rented out the Rio nice lodge and this place was amazing!!!! The perfect getaway from the city and just enjoy your time with family and friends!!! Very RUDE and DISGUSTING management. We scheduled and paid the deposit, just for them to turn around and charge us double. Once we called and tried to work it out, we were met with very rude and horrible service. Without us saying we want out they canceled our reservation. read more

We stayed at the Sweet Spot Thanksgiving weekend and it didn't disappoint. Plenty of room for everyone and had fun with the ping pong table. Nice TV's with comfortable seating. Golfing was convenient as well as shopping. A little bit if something for everyone. read more

My husband and I rented a one bedroom cabin (#10) through Frio Country. We could not have been happier with our decision. The room was great, not super luxurious, but exactly what we needed. Whoever decorated has a great sense of humor. They hung the same exact picture three times in the bedroom and twice in the living room :). The whole point is to be outside anyhow (even says so on the flier with the wi-fi information. Haha.) Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. What a friendly group of people working there at FC! From booking the cabin to the staff running the store, and even the guys shuttling tubes and tubers up river. At one point I was on the hunt for duct tape for my husbands cornhole boards. My little ones and I went to the store for drinks and I mentioned it to the two working the counter. One of them went to another building to fetch me a piece of duct tape! Although it was our first trip to Concan, I do have a bit of a comparison. We went to have dinner with some friends at another campsite about 6:30pm or so, this particular campsite planned to charge us full price for day bands and parking for a visit that wouldn't be anymore than 2 hours. They were especially rude about it. It wasn't until about ten minutes later, we realized our friends knew about this charge and covered it before our arrival. I still thought it was ridiculous and we wouldn't have let them pay for it, had we known. Our brief encounters with the staff at that campground was enough to put a bad taste in our mouths. It only made Frio Country look even better! We asked the ladies at FC if our friends could visit after 6 or so, they were so welcoming and easy-going. They asked that they park in overflow, but said they could stop at our cabin to load/unload. And Day bands would not be necessary for such a short time. I'm sure they can't do this all the time but it was a weekday and the campsite was fairly calm. All in all I was very impressed and we will be back. Hopefully at least once more this year in the fall and several times next year as well! read more

The location is right on the water. We pull a travel trailer and the 50 amp spots are limited and the one that we have camped in the last two years is by the restrooms which has a slight odor that lingers. Overall, we are pleased with the grounds and the location. read more

We just stayed at The Frio Country Resort for the first time and loved it! The cabin we stayed in was very clean, comfortable, had cable TV, reliable wifi and was a short stroll to the Frio River. The park is located on a beautiful stretch of the river, well maintained and professionally managed. Speaking of the Frio...it is flowing great and Frio Country Resort is in the perfect location! The most popular float trip seemed to be from 7 Bluffs to Frio Country. You can also put in at Frio Country and get out at the next crossing if you want to go on a shorter trip. The Frio Country staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend calling them if you're looking for a great place to stay on the Frio River! read more

This was our first stay at Frio Country and we really enjoyed it...even with no water in the river! When we arrived, there was a mix up and they had given our reserved riverside cabin away, but they made it right and gave us another cabin. The cabin had everything we needed and we enjoyed the pool since there was no water in the river. We will definitely stay at Frio Country again! read more

Wanted to go to the river so we opted for using the campgrounds at this resort. The spot was ok, and tubers came through the river. However my main complaint is a group of kids charging $40.00 for parking on the Sunday before Memorial Day!!!!! I can understand 15-20 dollars, but 40 dollars?! That's beyond ridiculous. But because it would be ok to park and walk a few feet to the river, and to avoid having to drive around anywhere else, we forked up the money and stayed, only to find out we had to park and walk about half mile to a spot to our choice. Ridiculous. To charge that price is a major rip off and it's not right! read more

The folks at Frio Country are awesome!! We've stayed at several of their rentals and have never had a bad experience. We had an a/c issue during our most recent stay; maintenance was there within minutes and when they couldn't get it resolved quickly, we were upgraded to a bigger cabin! I will only book through Frio Country. I have been going on family Vacations in Concan for 5 years now, and we have used Frio country the past 3 and won't ever use anyone else. Excellent customer service anytime we have an issue. The maintenance crew is on point, they pick up the trash daily and always have someone on call. These guys offer the best vacation homes to rent in Concan. I highly recommend you try them out if you haven't, you will not be disappointed. read more

My friends and I (4 families, 17 people total) rented Arrowhead from FCR. Reason we picked this house was it was a 5 bedroom with 5.5 baths. With the number of kids and parents we had, it sounded perfect. Until we got there....It was only 4 bedrooms, we lost a room with 2 queens and a bathroom. Think they need to work on their website description. This made the beginning of our stay very frustrating having to reconfigure sleeping arrangements. Thankfully the couch was a sleeper. Other than this set back, having a pool was great and the house was fine. I feel the kitchen could have been better stocked though. On our first morning we decided to float and went to FCR store to rent tubes. No real problems, but the workers were more interested in persuading their co-workers to let them go on the drop-offs than helping me, the customer in front of them. Also, their process for renting and returning tubes could be easier. Having to go back to the store after you get to the end of the float seems useless, when their is an employee at the end. But we had to load up in the car and return to the store to sign off that we returned the tubes....seems a more logical way to accomplish this because as someone who just spent 4 plus hours floating, I just wanted to get back to the room for some lunch. I will say the store has a great selection and we made purchases. Then the teenage kids we had wanted to play basketball at their campground area that we had access too, but that area wasn't set up great and they didn't play long. They also had a volleyball court area in the campground area that we had to try out as well. Great idea, but it needed a little care. Uneven and hard areas in a "sand/beach" volleyball court. Lots of stickers, no parking area, and it could use a fence so you didn't have to continuously chase runaway balls near the river, or maybe we just needed to be better on the court...LOL Overall our stay was pleasant, we created great memories with great friends, but the start wasn't great when their description of the house was wrong. Put a bad taste in ones mouth, not sure I'll go back and had us having to deal with upset tween girls right off. read more
