Their response to my feedback lacked any accountability: Thank you for letting us know. This place isn't for everyone. However, thousands love us so we will trudge on! Feedback to Neal's: We had a reservation for cabin #2 for July 13-17. I expected the cabin to be small and rustic, but I did not expect the cabin to be dirty. The floor didn't look like it had been cleaned in a while. The bedside table next to the bed on the right has a recessed design along the outer perimeter of the top that was full of dirt. The bathroom was also dirty, especially the floor behind the toilet. The AC was very loud. The bed closest to the AC unit was tilted such that the head was lower than the feet. Lastly, the customer service was lacking. In my cabin and my daughter's cabin (#3), there were nice, clean, and relatively new frigs. However, the person who installed them, hung the doors, so they opened to the bed and not the kitchen. I know for a fact that the doors could be hung either way. When I asked the door to be changed, I was told it can't be done. What that meant is that it was not going to be fixed. This seemed to be an unreasonable answer. Hopefully, y'all will make the effort to get the refrigerator doors hung correctly. My family chose to stay at Neal's' on the recommendation of my adult granddaughter, who had stayed in a 3-bedroom cabin for a number of summers with a friend and the friend's family. We will not be staying at Neal's again.

Overall not a nice place to be and dangerous. Last year somebody almost drowned coming off of their slide (which is overpriced).

There is something for everyone here, a beautiful lake and zip lining, paddle boats rope swing and kayaks. If that's not your thing you can swim in the pool or go to the club house game room or play shuffleboard and putt putt. There's several pavilions and dining halls and a stargazer path. :) The cabins were clean and inviting with nice cold air conditioning. :) Our cabin accommodated 5, but one slept on a twin mattress on the floor. The only thing that stunk was that our cabin was at the end of the hot water line and the sign in the bathroom said to let the water run for 10, yes 10 minutes for hot water. I loved the laundry facility onsite. The office staff and really everyone there was exceptionally friendly with that typical Texas hospitality. I don't know how expensive it was because the church paid for everything. But a simple call to the office would answer that for you. Great place for a family reunion or wedding. Loved it!!

The infestation appears to be quite established and quite bad judging by the severity of the bites I have developed. We didn't discover the tell-tale rust colored spots and subsequently the bugs themselves until after we had already slept in the beds unfortunately. We spent the following 2 days decontaminating all of our belongings and ourselves before returning to our home.

We decided to make a staycation out of it by booking a room and enjoying the bar and restaurants. NO REGRETS! If every San Antonian knew about this place, nobody out of town would ever get in! Our experience began with the greeting from the front desk clerk desk attendant, Jacob. He was awesome! Super attentive to our needs, friendly, and personable. At the spa, Our massage therapists were top rate! Roxi and Sera were very responsive to our aches and pains. We came in wound up and left ready to relax. Back at the hotel, the bar tenders are definitely skilled mixologists. Eric makes a mean Manhattan, his specialty is an old fashioned, but I saw everyone enjoying all the other drinks he made as well! Antlers Lodge is something special! The chef, Joseph Lambert, and his staff at the restaurant are masters of their craft! So humble but so masterful. The food was as top flight as any restaurant we have had in at the best New York restaurants or abroad... and this place truly represents San Antonio at its elevated best.

If you're the type to laze by a river, and you've already got a room here, absolutely check it out, BUT dont spend 75/piece to tan here. If youre not taking kids don't do it! You do not get access to where you can actually swim, nothing gets deeper than 3 feet. You do not get access to the new "lagoon" area. There are no changing rooms, and only 2 restrooms for all the people there. If you dont want to trek your wet self through the lobby to your car, you'll be changing in 1 of the restroom stalls. If you are taking kids, trust me.....get the sea world passes and a meal pass, the cost is the same and everyone will have a lot more fun!!!

Our king sized room was roomy enough for 2 adults and a teen. Very clean and room service came by to freshen up the room daily. Parking is separate charge- if no parking in self park lots- you have to Valet. Self park lots are a trek so beware! Grounds are extremely well kept and beautifully peaceful. Lots of available activities for all ages. Water park admission included and the warm temperature was so nice even in a little rain and not full blown summer Texas temperatures. Be sure to complete the longhorn scavenger hunt! Room service for breakfast was phenomenal as we didn't have to leave and be with any crowds and the set up was full of everything we needed and asked for. There was noise in the middle of the night due to construction -- you could clearly hear people working. In my room, hot water was only available between 12 AM and 6 AM. There was also a huge event happening, with extremely long lines at the bell center and only one person assisting guests. At one point, another guest even stepped in to help because the young man assisting everyone had to leave briefly to get more paper forms. When I asked the registration counter if additional help could be provided, I was told the event staff were contracted and "not theirs." Still, better communication and coordination ahead of time could have made a big difference. That said, kudos to the event team members working the front lines -- they were absolutely amazing despite the situation.
