A Nightmare at Frisco Emergency Pet Care: Stay away from this fancy facility driven by the owner who sold his soul to devil. I regret to say that my recent experience at Frisco Emergency Pet Care was nothing short of a nightmare. I wish I did my research and actually read through reviews. But unfortunately when your furry babe is in a state of emergency, you panic and you try to seek quick help. My dog swallowed a catnip toy that got lodged in her smaller intestine. After we brought her in Frisco Emergency Pet Care they took her in quickly and gave me a call with plan of actions. They needed t do x-rays to determine what was going on, because at that time we didn't know what was wrong and the only symptoms were prolonged vomiting. They called and gave me an estimate, I agreed to it and asked to proceed with diagnostics. After we discovered what was the issue they suggested the surgery and gave an estimate $5000-$9000, and requested a lower end 50% deposit, I paid $2500 right away and they proceeded with surgery. After it was done, my dog was discharged on the second day after surgery with the bill of close to $7000 that I paid with no negotiation or anything. On the second day back home my dog started bleeding and discharge was coming out of her incision. My dog was discharged Saturday and Monday night she started having problems. I was furious. We brought our dog back for complications. They examined her and stated that her internal incision came undone due to fluid built up from an infection in her abdominal and she needed another surgery to fix it. First time when she was discharged they didn't even sent her home with any kind of antibiotics, anti anxiety or any medications besides pain pills and diarrhea medicine. They wanted to charge additional $1700 on top of $7000 we already paid for second surgery. We fought with their Chief of Staff/Owner to own up that the complications were developed because 1st surgery wasn't successful and my dog was discharged too soon without proper medication to ensure her successful recovery. We settled to pay additional $700 to cover medication cost and they proceeded to do 2nd surgery. Needless to say they were rushing us to pick her up on the very next day after surgery with tube sticking out of her abdominal. I asked them to keep her till that tube is removed and she is in a stable condition to come home, because I didn't want any complications develop. They did, they kept her till tube was removed and we brought her home and she is recovering. But it wasn't without great stress, absolutely horrible experience dealing with Michael LoSasso who shouldn't be in this industry as he belongs on Wall Street with his hunger for money and no care for animals whatsoever. People lost their hearts in a race for money. And he had an audacity to send me an email that we didn't pick up our dog in a timely manner and that we treated his team poorly. Excuse me? I haven't yelled or talked disrespectfully to any of your team members, I've asked them to care for my dog and ensure her successful recovery. I pushed back when you wanted to send my dog home with the tube sticking out of her abdominal, I am a concerned pet owner who didn't feel comfortable bringing my dog in such state and experienced PTSD with possibility of a repeat complications. Overall, my experience at Frisco Emergency Pet Care was nothing short of a disaster. I would strongly advise pet owners to steer clear of this establishment and seek care elsewhere. It's clear that the well-being of animals is not their top priority, and no pet deserves to be subjected to such incompetence and neglect. And you Mr. Michael LoSasso can keep your reply and comments to yourself, because I am disgusted by your behavior and karma is coming your way Sir! The horrific experience you put me and my dog through will come back around your way and teach you a lesson that money is not everything that matters in this world. One day you will find yourself in the situation where you wish you can buy yourself out of trouble, but it won't save you.

In my opinion anyone that has a pet euthanized without running test is a murderer. They killed Pookie!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! Read all of the one star reviews. Lauren Szalach, DVM reminds me of Dr. Death. She recommended that I have my cat euthanized without running any tests. Specifically, she told me and my husband that my cat had 85 percent kidney failure. How could she have known without running tests? She could not! Earlier that day, I had taken my cat to her regular vet. They ran some labs on her. Once the lab work came back it showed that she had pancreatitis. According to two vets, all she needed were some antibiotics. My cat was euthanized unnecessarily! The only options Dr. Death gave me while I was at the hospital were the following: 1. Euthanize her 2. Pay $3000 for the first day and $1000 each day after so she could stay at the hospital and give her fluids. She stated that she may not survive for very long. They were quick to obtain a credit card for their charges from my husband. I am beyond mad and I will seek legal action. JUSTICE FOR POOKIE!

Last Friday, our 18 year old rat terrier took a turn for the worse. We contacted Frisco Emergency Pet Care for end of life assistance. When we arrived, everyone was so compassionate and let us tell our stories of Coco before we started. They explained everything step by step. I couldn't ask for a better experience for something so awful. From the Vet, techs and all staff, I couldn't be more grateful.

Ask the Community - Frisco Emergency Pet Care

Thanks Doc so would I be able to come to you for artificial vaginal insemination help and stud semen extraction for the purpose of breeding?

We are a 24/7 emergency-only hospital. Wellness is important, and I encourage you to make an appointment with a local veterinarian, but this is not a service we offer. We hope you never need us, but we are here if you do!

How much do they normally charge for a check up on my iguana?

Eric, although I personally love reptiles, and used to have an exotics practice in Plano, FEPC is not setup to see reptiles or birds on a routine or emergency basis. If you have an emergency with your iguana, I recommend contacting the Animal… Read more

    Mike! How much Pur night!?…

$181.44 per 12 hours. At least that is what my bill showed.

Are you able to treat snake bites?

Yes, but it will depend on the number of patients and their disease state as to whether we are taking new patients. As of now (16:38 on Thur 6/18), we are open to more cases.

Are you equipped for surgery if necessary?

Yes, but the timing may depend on the surgery in question ( we call in a board-certified surgeon for orthopedic cases).

    Do y'all take birds?

Like most ERa, we are not set up and do not have the necessary expertise to see avian patients. I recommend contacting North Texas Emergency Pet Clinic in Carrollton or the Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas in Grapevine.

Does this location do ear cropping, if yes what’s the price range?

We are an emergency facility, and as such do not offer routine services such as vaccines, sterilization surgery, dental procedures, or other surgery including ear cropping.… Read more

After trying a couple vets in Dallas, the urgent care vet referred me to Atlas for specialty support. We were there a lot and while we made progress, her bloodwork was still not great. And then her brother randomly got fluid in his belly. They were great about seeing me ASAP the week before a holiday and diagnosed him with FIP. They worked to get him medication that day from a local pharmacy on a weekend too. Unfortunately, FIP is still very fatal and he passed away a few days later. They were so kind when I told them. After his sister kept throwing up, we decided to treat her for FIP too. And she ended up doing so well! FIP only got an approved treatment last year, so many vets are not experienced with it. But Dr. (Daniel) Anthony was good about checking her progress and working with me on the most cost effective way to handle the many vet visits and lab work. I'm happy to share that she's officially cleared FIP treatment and observation protocol and she finally had normal bloodwork last month. She is super playful and loved to torment her big cat brother. We held off on her vaccines and spay because of everything, but she will be going to them next month for this too. I never have to wait long once I arrive and the front desk is always friendly. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep going for her regular visits since I live in South Dallas and the trek to Frisco is a lot, but their Saturday hours are a savior and if I lived closer, I'd stay a client forever.

First time was for new patient visit and vaccines, second for her teeth cleaning which was over 700$ and then third time to recheck an area at the base of her tail because she was missing hair- $200. I usually give my cat gabapentin for long visits or wellness visits where she gets shots like her vaccines and obviously for her dental visit. But for a random check up on a small itchy lesion on the base of her tail that had already been previously reviewed, I didn't think to give her the gabapentin. She just got weighed and she just got given antibiotics from her dental treatment and she's not showing any symptoms of disease or sickness. Well, the assistant got clearly annoyed with me when I told her I hadn't given Darla any gabapentin, then she grabbed my cat without asking and said they were going to have to take her to the back to review her, when I asked why, because I just needed a visual opinion from the doctor about her hair loss spot, she said "because you didn't give her her gabapentin and she's known to bite" ---- After posting this review the manager of the practice, Duke, who said he's been here 17 years, apologized and gave me a credit for the service that was rendered without consent. And apologized for the behavior and steps taken this day. Changing my review from 1-3 stars due to the kindness of Duke and his understanding of the situation. Thank you

I called in December 2024 because I was visiting family and had forgotten my dog's prescription for incontinence "proin" and was worried about it. The staff was totally unhelpful and stated they would need to do a full annual exam for it. I told staff they can call her current vet to discuss the diagnosis of incontinence and see her full up to date vet records. The unhelpful lady stated this was against TX law. This is a lie as the law is "For Schedule II controlled substances, a written prescription must be issued on an official Texas prescription form or through an electronic prescription that meets all requirements." Proin is not a controlled substance, and staff was unhelpful and rude to simply get another annual visit in. I don't think most people lie about their dog's veterinary diagnosis. But I had up to date records to confirm that. There is no reason they could not have responded reasonably with an uncontrolled substance for a week. Staff/Owners, you're in a state where dog populations, abuse, and euthanasia rates are some of the worst in the country. Do better. The great news is, I skipped my dog's prion for a week and learned her current vet had diagnosed wrong and she's not incontinent and never took the pills again.
