We have a few Escape Rooms under our belt and they're always fun, but sometimes service is lacking or the space is set-up strangely. Neither of these were an issue here. It was pure fun. Not to say it wasn't challenging. We had to all use our collective brains to make it through Deuces Wild. If you're an Escape Room fan and need a little break from all the Colorado, outdoorsy activity, I highly recommend Frisco Escape Room. The host was super friendly and chill. But his dog though. This is a really hard review to do, because, three weeks after our game, we are still very confused as to what happened. Since it would just be the two of us older players, and we took pains to make sure when we booked our room, that it was adaptable to our needs. The first glitch came about when we made our reservation on their web site and then wanted to change it. After two days of no response when we contacted them via e-mail, we left several voicemails for them to contact us, and never heard from them - at all. Arriving in Frisco, we found Escape Room Frisco right on Main Street, Frisco, half a block from the Snowshoe Motel. Main Street Frisco parking is free, too, and plentiful when we were there. The building is locked on Sundays, and we could not see if it was even inhabited, save for the signage outside that said "Escape Rooms Frisco" that looked pretty new. Nevertheless, we were up for adventure! Our reservation was for 3:30pm the next day, Monday, but we found ourselves in front of the building by 1pm. The main door was open, and we entered a lovely lobby amidst a lot of banging noises. When we finally found someone, it turned out he was our gamemaster doing some construction work, maybe a new room they were building (promising!) or just general construction. Either way, we were really excited that he was able to let us start early, and we made sure to let him know that we really wanted to see the whole room, so if he could give us really big hints, it would be great. We chose to do "Finders Keepers", in keeping with Frisco's founding history, a 1908 treasure hunt where, as miners down on our luck, we try to steal Mr Foote's (a big person in Frisco - very interesting to see his family name everywhere) watch that some school children have found from the Denver Hotel heist and stashed in their schoolhouse before the lunch bell. The game had a difficulty rate of 3/5 and the record time was 29:40, so it would have / should have been easy to complete with gamemaster help. Except. Our gamemaster was duo-tasking, we slowly realized and not completely present. All through our game, he continued with his construction work, and it soon dawned on us that he allowed us to start early because he wanted to get back to it. The puzzles required a lot of finger-work, but were in theme, and the room was very in keeping with the rest of the town of Frisco. This is a good game for between 2 - 8 players with some need to crawl: there was stomach-to-floor work unless you are a very small person, and some of the puzzles can be solved by younger kids - if the locks opened when we solved them. The décor was simple but effective (like the very utilitarian toilet inside the building), and there was no tech at all - just lots of locks, very many of them, which, even when we (without glasses) managed to solve the puzzles, were very glitchy, and our gamemaster had to come in our room three times to physically get to the answer - each time taking about ten minutes of hollering before we got his attention! We are generally okay with the room winning if we felt like we got our money's worth. The cost of "Finders Keepers" is high compared to other games outside of California, Frisco being a tourist village, so we had similarly high expectations that we would at least be wowed by tech or something. It was an expensive room for the amount of attention we got, like we were paying to beta-test the room. From the positive reviews online, had our host been present for our game and less anxious to get back to his other work, we'd have been able to solve the room in the time allotted. That said, while the service was below expectations, they are obviously still trying to get themselves off the ground, so we would come back again to support their efforts. He did show us the ultimate treasure, and he was friendly all through the game - but he was not playing with us. At all. We would love to see at least one more escape room in Frisco so we can compare the service and attention of both. As it is, we did not see the level of professionalism we have come to expect, so we ... er ... -rate (!) - this experience accordingly. This review has been posted on Yelp and Google. read more

4/5 solid stars Boy, we got a "medium" room, and it was SOOOO stinkin' hard!! We barely got through half and we were struggling!!!! We had to find a hard drive as our "key" out, so I guess technically, it wasn't really an escape room. Regardless, the experience was entertaining and the clues were very clever. read more

We loved the challenge! The theme was unique and there were so many cool tools you could use throughout the escape room. Booking over the phone was really easy, and the guy working there was very nice and helpful. There was also a sweet dog helping out! So fun! We'll be back for sure! read more

Make sure that you confirm that the place is actually open before you go. Website and Facebook stated they were open. Even allowed me to book a slot to go to the escape room. Drove from Denver to make a day trip out of it and stood in front of the locked door for 30 minutes before we gave up. Please update your hours if you're going to be closed. read more

We'd never done an escape room before & had a blast at Frisco Escape Room! Most fun we've had in an hour in a while. The puzzles were challenging but not insurmountable. Helpful clues were posted if you need them. The host, Ian, was great. Very personable & friendly. A plus for us was the art posted in the waiting room by local artists. Would highly recommend then take a stroll down Main Street in Frisco; lots of shops & places to eat. read more

If you love escape rooms, you will love this place! The theme of the room and the decor fit perfectly! The story was fun and easy to follow, and the puzzles were challenging without making you want to bash your brains in. There was always a real sense of pride and success when we properly solved a puzzle. We did "Finders Keepers" which I believe is a great room to do if you have never done an escape room before! This place is awesome. The puzzles are innovative and exciting. My friends and I had all been to other escape rooms, but were unanimously impressed by the 2nd one in the school house. Super fun time for our whole family in the Finders Keepers room! We had 7 total with two adults and five kids (ages 2 1/2, 6, 7, 7 1/2, and 17). Our game master helped with clues when we were stuck (We were there for fun and family time while it was snowing, not to break records. ) and explained all of the rules patiently and thoroughly, especially with the kids. We made it out with just over 10 minutes to spare, so it was a nice way to feel accomplished as a family! {We were visiting from out of town over fall break. There happened to be snow in the forecast for one of our days, and we contacted Frisco Escape via Facebook to see if there were deals/ promotions running. Whoever answered was super prompt, even close to 10pm! I definitely expected a reply in the morning since I contacted them so late. We got an awesome deal that made it affordable fun for us! My 7 year old son begged me to take him and his older brother to the escape room. I'm not great at puzzles, so I had successfully avoided the place until last Saturday. I was trying to gage online which room was the easier, more kid friendly room... and that was hard to determine based on the descriptions so we chose the pug Ryan room. My little one couldn't figure anything out. My older son who had done it before was patient and did better. We needed all of the clues... and if there hadn't been any clues we would not have been able to get past the first step! I thought it was really hard and the clock made it stressful for me. I don't think this is a good place for young kids. Nevertheless, the staff was really helpful and they made sure that we were successful, which was nice. My feedback for them would be to either have a kid friendly room or to rate which room is easiest online. Overall, it was a good experience, but I don't think I will do it again. read more

Best escape room I've ever been to and we've tried several in Dallas. The room we went into was locally themed and a good challenge.

The Frisco Escape Room was fun and educational. It was our first escape room experience. We went as a two person team: a 10 yo (boy) and dad. The location is easy to find (on Frisco Main St). Don't expect a fancy entry - but the staff was very nice and had us in the escape room right on time. The experience was fun and totally engaging. We both took in the scene and immediately got into the spirit. The challenge is deceptive - with a mix of skills required to solve all the problems and get to the answer. The only hesitation is the cost. $30 per person for the challenge (approximately one hour) seemed a bit high. That being said, we got clues when we needed them and it kept us moving along toward the solution. Thanks to Paige for being so helpful and positive! Happy to have this attraction in Frisco and recommend it to any group, family, or couple. read more

Definitely one of the best escape rooms I've been to! Very well thought out in the sequence of the puzzles, which were challenging but not crazy ridiculous. What made this experience over the top were the owners and how they were able to accommodate us despite it being a holiday weekend. Not only that, we were in town for a family vacation, and my sister and her husband had a 9 month baby with then. They were happy to let us bring the stroller into the room to allow both parents to participate in the room, which is such a rare thing to be able to do with an infant! Moreover, we had two members in our party who were from different countries and English was not their first language. It didn't matter--they were able to participate and help solve puzzles since a lot of it involved logic, not reading comprehension. Truly a cross-cultural family bonding experience! Now my family is addicted just like me. We'll definitely be back! read more

This is a good room for younger kids because none of the riddles are too hard. Some of the puzzles required very specific actions that we needed hints to figure out. What I really liked was the local angle to the story of the room--the background information is based on real historic Colorado events from way back when. The owner created the puzzle himself! I wasn't sure what to expect for an "Escape Room" is a little mountain town. The location is in part of an office building, but it is right off of Main St. downtown. It was SO MUCH FUN! My son and I had a GREAT time solving the puzzles. And they were HARD. But the staff was AMAZING and they try to help you out whenever possible, while still keeping it challenging. The two owners are amazing. We were having trouble with one of the locks. We had the right combo but we still couldn't get it to work. They came in, checked the numbers. Pulled once then twice. On the 2nd pull it gave way. I like that they came to help instead of us being stuck on the same lock thinking it was wrong. We did all 3 rooms that this company has. Deuces wild was our favorite room out of the 7 escape rooms we have done. We have done rooms previously in other cities and Deuces Wild was still our favorite. I like that it's more solve the puzzle than to escape the room. The props were awesome and accurate. I can't get over that the attention to detail that put into the rooms. The floors were as accurate as possible i.e. gravel for the wild west, rickety floor boards for the classroom. The story lines are interesting. It's better that they are historical. For those thinking that rooms can't be done with just 2 people, I am here to tell you that they can. We beat 2 of the 3 rooms and it was just my husband and I. We were on the last clue on the third. The owner said to take a few minutes to see if we could solve it and he was going to reset the room. We figured it out about 3 minutes later. I liked that it just wasn't escape room is over, here's the answer. The 2 rooms we beat, we did back to back since it was our last night in town. We did 2 escape rooms in under 2 hours. It was great! After all 3 rooms we talked to the owners. They are very personable. This was my and my husband's honeymoon and now we want to come back since they are making more rooms. Wish they could get a bigger lot to have more going on. I don't have any criticism but I have a suggestion. Put a white board in the rooms to help with writing things down. It's not necessary since we did beat it but it would be helpful with directional locks or code locks where you have everything you need, you just need to put them in the right order. read more
