I love Fritz's, every time I'm in Keene I stop by for falafel and fries. I always order either the chipotle ranch or the rosemary garlic dipping sauce for my fries, both are phenomenal. The burgers are pretty good too. Fritz's is a little pricer than most sandwich & fries places, but the dipping sauces make it totally worth it! The atmosphere is fun and quirky as well, it's a good place to sit and chat with your friends. I'm pretty sure you can only pay with credit card if your total bill is high enough (I want to say over $6 but I'm not sure) so if you're only getting small fries, be sure to have cash. read more

The Belgian frites (French fries) with their take on the traditional dip is superb. The falafel roll up isn't the worst that I have had, but I found it having too much lettuce, little tomato, too thin on the tahini and the falafel itself not the crispy exterior with fluffy interior that I search for. I prefer the mid-eastern tradition of pickles, tahini and perhaps labneh. In Isreal, it is made with french fries, perhaps a "menu tour" of serving styles is a menu option. The beer selection features some locals. Suggestion, replace the old cardboard boxes that hold your sauces and dips. They are past their prime and I almost left because of it. Get a new couch and ask a couple of repeat customers what is charming and what is past it's prime in the seating area. You have a clever and tasty selection of food but what the passers by see through the plate glass could be keeping them away. read more

Fritz has delicious paninis! The pear and caramelized onion panini is amazing. Their fries.frequently arrive over-cooked, with many too crspy to actually enjoy. Their saving grace for the French fries is the wide array of dipping sauces! Rosemary garlic, parmesan peppercorn, and curry pineapple are my favorites. It can get crowded. Some of the chair/table combos are uncomfortable, but the furniture and decorations are a weird but awesome mish mash. read more

While this place seems all the rage in Keene, I'm not up on the hype. My husband is a huge fan of hand cut fries so we have to eat here when we are in town, but he was sadly disappointed this time around too. I ordered a panini and he ordered a large fry with some dipping sauce. The fries were plentiful, but there were many small ones, not good for dipping. The panini was okay, but definitely not pressed for long enough. The biggest con is the atmosphere. The dusty curtained dwellings and chairs with fabric covers, make it look dirty. I love Fritz. It was great when it was in that little strip mall, but the new spot on Main Street in Keene is so nice to sit in. Great atmosphere, casual, good for kids, and the food is always great. In Keene for the weekend. Found a parking spot in front of this place on a snowy Saturday afternoon. It looked very interesting. It was. Place was lively and inviting. The locals obviously like and frequent the place. Very casual. Stand in line to order any of the many delicious offering. The double cooked potato fries are a specialty. This place used to be really good. The fries were crispy, the sandwiches were full, and the service was decent. The change in management has really brought the quality down. Soggy (nearly uncooked) fries, screwed up orders (has happened to me multiple times), and even the owner asks you to leave if you're there anywhere remotely close to the 8pm closing time. Why go here when Local Burger offers better food across the street? The food is pretty good here, except for the fries. They are so crispy, you have to wonder if they were burned. Love eating here! The service can be pretty slow but the staff is nice and the food is worth the wait. They have local options and the food always tastes fresh. The atmosphere is nice but I'd avoid going here on open night mic night. (it gets really loud) The fries are a little overrated, they're very hard and over priced. Sauce portions are very small (nearly $1 for one tiny cup of sauce that will only last you a handful of fries) They no longer offer the panini or burger specials so its even less affordable than it used to be. Fries tasted over done and was full of the dregs of a batch of fried potatoes. Got stale fast! Portion was huge. Daughter's bacon and cheese panini was delicious, but my falafel wrap was criminally underseasoned and wet. It tasted like soggy soybeans. Way back when the restaurant used to be in its first location, there was clearly more care put into the food prep. My first visit to Fritz's when they first came to Keene was that of a 5-star rating. However upon my last visit just a week ago I was extremely disappointed in the quality and taste of their food. I ordered the Zesty Roast Beef which is on their menu as that of being Homemade roast beef, swiss cheese, caramelized onions and horseradish mayo on sliced Italian bread. What I got was a soggy sandwich with dry roast beef, a sauce of cheese, gooey onion and bread that failed to keep it all together. I fell apart in the wrapping paper they placed it in and as it was a to go order and I was on the road, I didn't bother going back. I would not recommend this sandwich to anyone unless they were to get it on bread that can handle it - otherwise make it at home and safe yourself the money and time. read more

I ordered a panini. There were 3 pieces of meat and couple of little pieces of lettuce and onion on it. It cost $8.99. The table where we ate had not been cleaned off and we had to do that ourselves. I noticed some other patrons that came in and had to wipe up their table also. I have eaten here in the past and it was better - at least the sandwich had some ingredients on it. I am amazed at the lack of service at this place. the first two times it took over 45 minutes to get my food upon ordering. I decided to try it a third time after a while, but ordered online 25 minutes before I set the time for pick up. Upon arriving (35 minutes later) we waited in line for 10 minutes while other people ordered, then they told us it wasn't ready. We then sat for 20 more minutes while we watched the people who ordered 40 minutes after us get their food. After our lunch break ended, we had to return to our jobs so we told them we had to get a refund because we didn't have time to eat. they said "sorry, there's nothing we can do". We asked to speak to a manager but they told us they didn't have one. read more

Ugh, I had heard good things about Fritz from a friend in Boston - looking at other reviews I'm wondering if she just hadn't been in awhile and it's changed - the fries were warm at best, the dipping sauce was meh, and the falafel wrap was both weird and disgusting. I would be shocked if I made it through more than a 1/8th of the burrito-sized falafel wrap before I decided to stop torturing myself and put the rest in the compost bag at home. Poorly understaffed and managed. Apparently using cellphone's is a perk because I was told to wait until the server taking my order could finish. The food was okay but the service left a lot to be desired. I'm not sure in what managerial training the Manager of this establishment was taught it was okay to say to a 3yr old that "he needs to hurry up & finish his food because they are about to close" (while he's sitting at a table with 3 older children & his parents are in the table next to him). And then walk away without addressing the adults and think we wouldn't have an issue with this. And when she finally does speak to the adults her answer is "well we are closing" again the issue here is that you don't speak to a 3 year old in this manner when the adults whom he is with are clearly in the table next to him. And a better way of handling this would have been to speak to the Adults and say "just a friendly reminder we are closing, is there anything I can take out of the way or wrap up." And if you want your customers out by closing I suggest you stop serving 45 mins before closing and not take 30mins to bring out the food. read more
