What they didn't tell me was that other features of the bike would stop working like the throttle! They would not fix or even be bothered to look at it because " it's a cheap bike" which in my humble opinion is a cop-out to not have to fix and blame the problem on the bike rather than admit to they're incompetence. No apology no offer for future store credit just a "sucks to be you" Never EVER! Will I bring a bike to these charlatans. And I highly recommend going to a different repair shop for your bicycle repair necessities Sarah , I don't know how to respond to your response of my review. So I'll just do an edit on my original..... My problem was not with the cost of the repair. Neither did I have a problem about the battery.. my issue is there was no discussion of the possibility of something going wrong and the shop might not be able to repair it.... I would have brought the bike elsewherlse! . NOw I have to pay someone to replace/fix the throttle that was never an issue to begin with. THAT heads up would've been nice. And I'm not going to your website and review the fine print of fix I g a back tire flat. I relying on what the shop worker tells me face to face

Not good! I called Alpine Bike Works on Friday June 12th. I was told they had one Santa Cruz…read moreMegatower CS X-large bike in stock; however, it was still in the box. I stated that I would be stopping by on the morning of Sunday the 14th to check it out and purchase it. I was told the bike would be ready and waiting for me. I arrived at the shop on Sunday 11am only to discover the bike had not been pulled, unboxed and assembled yet--a process that takes between an hour to an hour and a half. I had just driven 96mi/2 hours to get there only to learn they failed to follow through with having the bike ready & waiting. As I left the shop, the Owner stopped me outside stating that he wanted to "help me". I asked him what exactly he meant by that, to which he responded "I'll have the bike built for you right now." Now, I'm thinking to myself this guy didn't have time to get it right prior to my arrival; yet, suddenly has found the time--My Time--to get it right after my arrival? Really? That's how it's done? I told the Owner I don't do business like this. No reputable business does. Since when did it become acceptable to presume upon a potential customers time? My plans for the day did not include waiting 1 1/2 hours for a bike build. This guy didn't even offer to buy me a cup of coffee while I waited. Furthermore, what prevented them from calling me ahead of time to inform me the bike wouldn't be ready & waiting? They had a day and a half! Also, I couldn't help but wonder as I drove home, if the Owner lost sight of the fact that as a paying customer, I was there to Help him and not the other way around. He needed to sell the bike; I don't need to buy. Lastly, if they can't be counted upon to assemble a bike when they said they would, or at least make a simple heads-up courtesy phone call, then what is there to make me think they can follow through with anything else? I can only imagine the headaches were there to be a warranty issue or a simple return. Not Good! Scott M. Colchester, Vt.

The original tires were 700x35mm and were not ideal for packed gravel. The bike tech recommended and fitted some nice 700x40mm tires with treads appropriate for this trail. We were back on the trail with minimal time lost. I don't usually write reviews, but this bike shop deserved it.

I am the type of buyer who does a ton of research before making a purchase. The bike I decided on,…read morethe Marin DSX FS, checked all the boxes. Appropriate price, a versatile bike with good components, and a color and style I liked. Fortunately for me this is a bike carried by Chuck's Bikes in Morrisville. The bike I bought from Hank at Chuck's Bike's turned out to as perfect for me as I had hoped. But what I wasn't aware of at the time was that this bike purchase turned out to provide me with the best retail experience I've ever had in my 55 years of life. For Hank, the customer comes first before his own needs. He wants the customer to have a bike that fits right, that is appropriate for the type of riding they will do, and wants that person leaving his shop thinking that everything was done to make him or her happy. I spent a fair amount of time at Chuck's Bikes the day I purchased. I never felt rushed. I discussed with Hank and his 2 employees the best ways to make the bike fit and work for me. All three were patient, extremely knowledgable and kind. I couldn't believe how busy this small bike shop was that day. But I can see way. I can totally understand why Chuck's Bikes is the only store I've come across with a 5/5 rating. I think most of us who have shopped there would double that score if we could. I feel fortunate to have crossed paths with this shop and the good folks who run it. Maybe I did something right that set me on the path to have that interaction. If you are looking for a bike, make sure it's a brand that Hank carries at his shop. You will thank your lucky stars.
