We loved this place! Le frog was in a very convenient location right near our hotel in nice. My partner is a big snail/frog leg fan and this place had them both, so perfect! We made reservations which I would recommended, but it did seem like they were able to seat a few parties who came withoit reservations. They accept reservations via the fork, (app) so try it out. Anyway, the frog legs and snails were both great. We ordered a bottle of white wine and it was our favorite wine we tried in Nice. The duck confeit was amazing, and so was the lamb. The berry sauce that came with the duck made the entire dish amazing. The salad could have used a better rinse, honesty. Service was good. We will definitely return again next time weein the area.

Definitely overrated. The food is edible, but nothing special or memorable. The worst part was the complete lack of service, and one of the waiters was especially rude. I rarely give 2-star reviews--if the food is just average, I typically don't bother commenting. But this experience was disappointing enough to make me leave a review. It could have easily been a 1-star rating, and I regret choosing to try this place. A total waste of time.

We loved eating here! It was so hot outside on an early summer evening but we were comfortable in the restaurant with cool drinks and attractive decor. Very tasty frogs legs!!! I enjoyed this restaurant much more than some of the touristy crowded restaurants in Nice.

    Menu with scam prices

Well, made reservations and was excited to try their escargot and lamb dish. Looked at the reviews and their website and their menu on their website. The menu that they gave me had completely different prices. You can probably go to their website and compare the prices in the printed menu and what they liist on the website. So this is a tourist scam restaurant that I would not recommend.

An over due review but I feel a must; we were here in October 2024 and we had such a great experience here, everything was wonderful. I ordered the duck confit, it was pretty awesome! We shared frog legs and escargot which my husband enjoyed more. Great staff and ambiance

Food 8/10 We ordered the escargot and frog legs obviously as appetizers, and I really enjoyed the frog legs-super tender and fresh. I also really liked the escargot because of the flavor and texture, but it was a bit too greasy for me, I could only stomach two until I was done. Everything else we ordered was solid, massive portions but we somehow managed to finish them all. Atmosphere 7/10 Nice and clean inside, a bit dim for my liking. Also the toilet seat is abnormally tall relative to other toilet seats. Service 9/10 Really funny waiter, bantering with us, helped make the experience very memorable!

What a find!!!! Best restaurant in the south of France! The frog legs, they made them gluten free for me and they were delicious! The octopus was tender and AMAZING! The filet mignon was really good. I definitely would come back! They even give you limoncello with your bill. Awesome staff!

Fish, first fish item on the menu. Tender and juicy.

Second time to this restaurent, didn't enjoy the service so much. The server with the pony tail was not polite. He was very agitated, and treated everyone with impatience. The food was still good, but the presence of this waiter made the experience worse. Probably should start going to other restaurants now.

SALMON TARTARE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! I ate it during lunch and until this very moment (bedtime already), I still can't stop thinking about it. Main dishes, duck leg, lobster with BUTTERED BLACK RICE (never imagined rice to be this good!!! I devoured half from my husband's plate ), and lamb shank, are all very tasty. Snails and frog legs is a must for appetizers! On top of all these, all staffs are very very friendly and welcoming. I love this place!!!!

The food service is quite quick, with an intimate atmosphere. The snails were tasty, bit too much butter but delicious. Had frog legs for the first time, not familiar on how it should be prepared but I found these very soft and oily. Great spot in Nice for authentic French food.

Wow! We found this gem on Yelp and our experience couldn't have been better. It is so close to the main waterfront In nice but off a side street so not as busy and loud as many of the other places that had a very manufactured vibe. It has local flair and authentic dishes prepared well. Nothing too avant- garde but the flavors really work. It felt like home cooking. The waiters spoke enough English to make ordering easy and they even had wifi for our kids to use for a YouTube distraction. A big shout out on the wine selection which offered very moderately priced Bordeaux wines that knocked our socks off. It was so good we went back again on the Same trip.

Had an amazing meal at Le Frog. The waiters were exceptional and so incredibly friendly. Escargots was divine and my steak tartare was perfect. Will definitely be going back.

Great meal in France!…read more This was a fantastic first dinner in Nice right off the main drag. We had reservation for 7pm and arrived a few minutes early. We waited a few minutes while they prepped our table and we were seated promptly. The vibe was cool, very French cafe feeling on the streets. The waiters were kind and attentive was you settled in. They patiently answered all our menu questions. We ordered the fois gras (because when in France), the duck and the octopus. All the food was excellent, the fois gras was perfect (although probably wouldn't order it again for ethical reasons). The octopus was absolutely perfect, very very easy to screw up, but they nailed it; every bit melting in our mouths. The duck breast was perfect, juicy and cooked to perfect. All the dishes were served with plenty of accompaniment. Great meal for a great French experience. Would highly recommend.

Maybe not fair for them, but on our previous night, the previous chicken dinner was 5 stars for her. I got the beef stew over gnocchi. Not bad, but even for a light eater, it was NOT enough food for me?!?! Got a glass of Bordeaux which was good, until I noticed the locals got twice as generous of a pour?!? The second time I noticed this while dining out... Happy for them, but to see the inconsistency affects me... Ambiance - Small local business/restaurant. Prime tourist location/area. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. One unisex toilet. Service - Welcoming. Made online reservations, but because we are NOT tech savvy, it booked the wrong time. So since we were in the area, we just walked by and asked them to change the time and had no problems. Price - 49 Euros, $57 USD. Expensive for what we got IMO. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success.

I was sooo looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately, I was left with cheese on my face (sorry no eggs here, only cheese, cheese, and more cheese). We arrived a bit early for our reservation (15-20 minutes), but we were seated immediately, which was nice; the table was stuffed into a corner, but at least we were seated. Unfortunately, that was about where the niceness ended. The restaurant is supposed to be housed in a former cheese cave, which I thought would be exciting and romantic, instead it was just hot and cramped. This is one of those restaurants that tries to accommodate as many diners as possible, so we were basically eating right on top of another couple (who were incredibly displeased, even stating, "this service is abysmal"). We could literally hear every word spoken up to two tables away, so don't expect to have any privacy, except from the servers that is. Service was unpleasant and extremely minimal. Our server took our food and drink order, delivered our drinks, another server apologized for the delay in receiving our meal, and our original server delivered our meal...and that was it. They didn't refill our water bottle, ask if I wanted another glass of wine, stop by to see if we liked our meal -or needed else (which we did), or even bring a check. After waiting too long for our check, table full of finished plates and empty cups, we eventually just got up and headed upstairs. Apparently you're supposed to head upstairs to pay, but we'd have never known since our server was doing they're best David Copperfield impression. Now for the food. The kitchen was tiny tiny, so it's no wonder the menu consists of cheese for the starter, cheese for the entree, and cheese for dessert. Sprinkled in-between the assortment of cheeses was a steak masquerading on the menu as "Aubrac Bib", whatever that means, and the Tartiflette, think pork belly scalloped potatoes and the only thing you should order here. The Tartiflette was microwave-lunch small, but it was hot, rich, and pretty meaty for the size. I got the Camembert (takes 30 minutes) and it was pretty awful as a meal. It's not even really a dish. They literally opened up the wooden wheel of cheese, peeled back the paper, sprinkled a few things on top, then baked for 30 minutes, so it was more of just a cheese dish. It arrived-paper still covering the top, and was served with some under-seasoned fingerling potatoes and a salad. The salad was good and potatoes were okay, but the cheese was so one-note, it needed meat or veggies to dip in it. Unfortunately, I only had the few potatoes and two small bits of baguette to dunk, so my only option was to eat it like soup, which I did not-so half remained wasted and uneaten. We would have liked to have eaten dessert, but after the poor meal, and lack of even offering dessert, "How could we?". I'm giving 2 stars for the Tartiflette because it was delicious. I would not return and DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This was our favorite meal of our trip to Nice!…read more Warning: Reservations are hard to come by we dropped by and only reservations available were for 9pm two nights later. We took it. The place is super relaxed. 5 maybe 6 tables which made the difficulty of reservations more understandable. Prix fix menu - 4 appetizers to choose from, 4 entrees and 4 desserts. We were there with somewhat of a limited diet, but the options were awesome. We got a cauliflower appetizer and an artichoke one. Both were excellent. We all had the cod for dinner also delicious - served in a bath of traditional fish soup and with potatoes. The dessert was also excellent - we got the goat cheese in olive oil and garlic, the cream cheese with blueberry compote, lemon cheesecake and cinnamon "tiramisu". Every bite was full of flavor and such cool takes on the food. Now the intangibles - we arrived for our 9pm reservation, restaurant closes at 9:30 and we probably didn't walk out until 11:15 and there was still another table of 8 people dining. The host/waiter, Sebastian, was awesome. So friendly and we at no point felt rushed. In fact the opposite. When our daughter was slow in finishing her meal he joked with her instead of hurrying us along. Once we finished our main dish, he casually brought us our dessert and because we didn't order his favorite (we didn't know) he brought us out an extra to enjoy. We felt a little bad so somewhat accelerated the dessert phase so we could square up and leave. Instead he was unhurried, he casually cleared our table and chatted with us for a bit. It took us another 15 minutes before we finally said could we get the bill. He brought it to us another 5-7 minutes later. We had a great experience and one of our best meals in France, if not the best.
