As my supply of contact lenses dwindled, I knew I was overdue for an appointment at the optometrist. My wife and I've been coming to this MyEyeDr on Weber Rd in Bolingbrook for a couple years now since it's close by and they have a reasonable copay for exams, as well as prescription renewal with a mail-in rebate. I'm honestly surprised at the low rating here (2.2 out of 5*, ouch!) In fact, 15 of the 24 reviews have been 1 star! People seem to grouse about poor communication and appointment scheduling, as well as not accepting certain insurance, but my experience couldn't have been more pleasant. I scheduled online with Dr. Vairagi Patel and they called me the day before my appointment to confirm. I was a bit late to arrive but still within the grace window. Dr Patel was very friendly and I felt treated as a valued client, and a previous visit with Dr Kasmer went equally smoothly. Come to find out, my prescription didn't change (I still have the same lousy eyesight) and they recommended monthly contacts instead of bi-weekly ones. I even got to stick my face inside a U.F.O! (it was actually a retinal scanner whosamabobber, resembling a larger version of the neuralyzer from Men in Black) The checkout process took a little longer than normal, but afterwards I picked up a free pair of sunglasses (new aviators, sweet!) and was on my merry way. * TL;DR * Why so much shade for the optometrist? They're just trying to help you see stuff better. I've given Lenscrafters and Pearl Vision my business in the past, but they both pale in comparison to MyEyeDr. I can count on professionalism and honest opinions without trying to be sold a pair of Burberry glasses. Despite what others may say, I highly recommend MyEyeDr for your vision needs. Take good care of those eyeballs, folks! Be seeing ya ;)

When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted kindly and didn't have to wait hit more than 10-15 minutes while an exam room opened up. Dr. Saras was friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to get a year's worth of contacts for less than I paid for two boxes of contacts through 1-800-CONTACTS so that was a huge win. I also got a pair of FREE sunglasses before I left! I loved the experience and will definitely keep coming here for my yearly eye exam.

He took his time and did a comprehensive exam; unlike what you get at chain locations at the mall. He took the time to explain the exam not only to me, but the children as well. There's a no pressure approach to purchasing glasses, or other services. They have a nice selection of frames to fit every budget. Making the appointment was quick and painless, and we didn't have to wait weeks to get in. This office is about a 25 minute drive for me, and was absolutely worth it. We'll be back for sure.

They have been willing to, at no extra charge, customize the size and shape of my lenses. They have not tried to talk me into buying new frames when I have old frames (previously bought there) that I'd rather use. As an extremely picky glasses wearer, I have refused to even consider buying anywhere else since buying my first pair of glasses with them. They are very responsive and treat me like family. My daughter went here to see Dr Flora- he's…read moreexcellent. well then she went to optical to order her prescription sunglasses and when she was called to say they came in and got there to pick them up she realized there wasn't any prescription in the lenses. she was told they were Plano. now she's had glasses since 7 years old so why would she do that? well she didn't. the office messed up and said there was a glitch in the system with the script. The Optical employee told her that she would call her back by the end of the day (Monday) well that never happened. then I tried calling for her Tuesday & Wednesday and no one answered the phones and no one returned the voicemails. Finally the Optical employee called me back to tell me that the Manager would call back by the end of the day, guess what that never happened either. So then I decided to call and scheduling service answered my call and send an email to the district manager about our problem and that noone was calling her back and she needed the prescription put in the sunglasses. Well SURPRISE my daughter got a phone call from the manager saying that she's refunding everything and that her and my family aren't welcomed back there anymore.My Daughter mentioned to the manager that she's been waiting for her to call her since that's what we were told from the employee and the manager told her that she had no idea that she was suppose to call her back. Now why would the employee say that? My glasses were suppose to be coming in next week and she said she cancelled those also. Then we were told that supooosedly we weren't supposed to be seen there for the past year which I think is a lie. The office probably got in trouble or maybe the district manager doesn't care either because the District manager hasn't even called us to discuss any of this because she should know how patients are being treated. people pay a lot of money for Frames etc there and orders should be treated better. Phone calls should be returned. It's very poor customer service. My daughter took her prescription to our previous eye Dr optical office and they filled it immediately and said they don't even know how it was put through without a prescription. This Optical office has gone down hill since Dr Forzley retired and the office is still the same behind the desk and Optical as far as customer service, it's HORRIBLE. See the eye Dr's for your exam but take the business elsewhere for prescription. I'm shocked people still continue to go back after all the bad reviews I see about the optical and customer service part. It also says alot that the District manager doesn't care enough to even call to discuss what has happened instead of just hearing what the office is saying because they want to cover themselves so they don't get into trouble. I am happy that we will be back at our previous Office for Optical needs since there is no issues there with orders but fortunately we can't see our eye dr here anymore.
