My experience today was with a fourth-year optometry student who is two weeks from graduating. She was kind, clear in her communication, patient, easy to talk with. The doctor who came in afterwards to do her own checking was bubbly and fun, but also thorough, checked on a few things the student had done, asking how the student graded a certain test she did, then shared the 'grade' she gives--small difference. It was a two-hour total experience--exactly how I was told it would probably be when I did the phone registration. Best thing about costs is they DO accept Medicare, I only paid $25 to cover dilation--not covered by Medicare.

Asked for a 2-3 minute adjustment to my frames that had been purchased there. Overheard front desk asking Lisa in Optical and she said no, I'm busy, she needs to make an appointment. She didn't walk 15 feet to come over to see what I needed or speak to me herself. I had even said I had no problem waiting if she was busy. They just told me to make an appointment and come back another day. No thanks. I'm not going to take time out of my workday and drive 20 minutes each way to come back for something that should take 2 to 3 minutes. This massive lack of customer service is not on brand for the treatment that we receive from Dr. Robert or Bauer and was highly disappointing. Midwest Eye Optical will not be seeing another dime of my hard-earned money. If we didn't love the eye doctors so much I'd be finding a new one for all 4 of my family members. Loyalty & respect go both ways. It's not hard to treat people well. This interaction was not it.

There's just simply not another doctor like him. He went to my mom's funeral who was also a long time patient - I'm guessing this isn't something he does often, but his schedule allowed it this time, and he made it happen. My dad and I were truly touched. His office staff is also outstanding. Dr. C. is funny, knowledgable, and goes out of his way. I will be super bummed, to say the least, when he retires. As a new patient it took about a month to get an appointment and most unfortunately, the next step requires a separate appointment which is 5 weeks out. That puts the necessary surgery another 4 to 6 weeks out. That's a long time to fix an issue. However, the Dr. made me feel comfortable and was amicable with solutions to my issues and concerns.
