I travel for work non-stop. I travel to the Birmingham area quite frequently. Being extremely loyal To Hilton comes difficult in this area; and this restaurant is the reason why. It's not my fault that the Renaissance is in walking distance of this restaurant, but this restaurant is pretty much the entire reason I stay where I do. Frequenting the road, alone mostly, means finding comfortable atmospheres to cozy up to a bar and not feel awkward or out of place. A lot of times that means sacrificing food quality and sticking to chains... ugh... boring. I look forward to my trips here because Front Porch is going to take care of me. I know I'm going to eat well, and enjoy whatever libation I desire. I've probably eaten everything on their menu, and can say without hesitation that you cannot go wrong. Everything is absolutely delicious... the menu is largely eclectic, but simple enough that they can maintain care with each dish... their pizzas are great, and their fish specials are always on point. To be land-locked, they're giving many coastal restaurant specials a run for their money. Today was just one of those days where I wanted to substitute my typical wine and fish special for a bourbon cocktail and some chicken wings... must be the weather... Well, that wasn't a bad decision. Hands down THE best old fashioned in Alabama. And call me a liar, but I swear on my yelp account that the wings were the very best I've had in my entire life... EVER! they were exceptional. They offer two flavors: Hot Black, and Korean... Thank god the bartender recommended mixing both... Just do it, and don't think about it... there are no words... This is a hidden gem - absolutely worth the drive. We came her with a group for dinner. We were visiting Alabama froM Texas. We were a little worried about the drive but once we got there we quickly realized it was well worth it. Great selections on the menu. The bacon wrapped sausage was soooo delicious. As soon as you arrive you are greeted and seated quickly. I have been to Front Porch a couple of times and the service is always great. For appetizers I recommend the Candied Bombs and you can never go wrong with chips and queso. The salads are pretty good. The 10' pizza is enough for two people to share. I wanted Hot Lemon Pepper Wings, but was informed that I could only have Hot Wings with Lemon Pepper Sprinkles on the side. I ended up not needing the sprinkles, very satisfying. I enjoy the TV's very nice placement it makes the restaurant feel "homey". Great place to grab a bite to eat with friends and family. read more

This is the second time coming to eat here and both times have been solid. This place is a little off the beaten path but worth the drive. The service is excellent and our waiter went above and beyond to take care of us. The food came out in a tImely manner and was so good. The diablo pizza is our now go to. Perfect for two people to share. We also got the hot black wings with sweet potato fries which were bomb with the sauce they have drizzled over. Our friends come here often and say they've never had anything bad. 10/10 will be back! read more

Whew. This is a little gem in Ross Bridge. My friends and I wanted to try something new one Sunday afternoon and stumbled across Front Porch. We had the candied bacon for an appetizer and it was soooo good. How can you not love something with bacon though? I personally ordered the ceasar salad with blackened salmon. The salmon was flaky and very flavorful. The salad was a great size and the croutons were another star factor in my meal. My friends and girlfriend all had a variety of wings and pizza. I'm a huge wing person and Front Porch honestly exceeded my expectations. The pizza (small) was perfect for one or even to split between two. If you are in the area, give this cute place a try. read more

We ended up eating here three times in our short stay in the area. The staff were friendly courteous and fast. They gave great recommendations and remembered our preferences. The food and drinks here were delicious and reasonably priced. We had pizza, salad, burgers, and appetizers and nothing bad to say about any of it. The only downside was that the draft beer taps weren't working, which meant we couldn't try any of the local brew. So sad. read more

I've been ordering the honey sirracha wings for a while, but today they came to my table and tasted very different. I questioned the waitress and she Initially blamed it on a "new chef". She then returned and Indicated she put the wings in as Korean BBQ in error. And said "wings are on me today". We ate some of the wings, but not all. When the bill came the manager decided not to comp the wings and charged me 1/2 price "since we ate some". Needless to say I was very disappointed. Why would a manager expect me to pay for food that they messed up? Regardless if I ate one or all of it. It was not what I ordered. All this after the waitress told me it would be comped. Really. Additionally, The Mahi Mahi sandwich was very fishy and did not taste good. I did not mention this to the waitress, but in hind sight Perhaps I should have. To the manager, you lost a regular customer yesterday. I won't go back to your restaurant. read more

We came here for the first time after reading it reviews. It's in a really cute area and has a nice little outdoor patio. I order the pimento cheese burger which was very tasty with the sweet potato fries. The sweet pirate fries were described as sweet with a glaze but they weren't my fav. Really too sweet but that may just be me. I'm not sure we would go back. I have a few other casual restaurants that I would chose before going there but overall it was a decent experience. read more

I feel bad that I need to update my review and lower my overall rating. As I have stated in other posts service can really make or break your night and this experience is no exception. Arrived before the rush and asked to sit outside. Nobody else sitting outside and instead of allowing us to pull two tables together so we wouldn't be crowded they wanted us to pull a fifth chair up to a small table intended for four. We really weren't interested in this so requested to be seated inside. This is where the experience changed. From the moment we were seated the waitress had no interest in taking care of us. Drink orders were greeted with either we can't make that or not available. Once we were finally able to order our drinks they came out and were mediocre at best. With the price that mixed drinks are it is always disappointing when they aren't made well. On to the meal. Attempted to place orders similar to what we had placed in the past to be told we wouldn't be able to do that. We had ordered the Diablo pizza before and done a half and half. The waitress wasn't exceptionally nice about letting us know they wouldn't be willing to do that for us. Ok, we ordered one pizza and left it at that. My other friend went to his usual a Pimento burger. The pizza came out and it was good, just not what we had wanted. The burger tasted good, but was so messy it was impossible to eat without a fork (not typical again for quality). Another mark of good service is how drink service is handled. Once drinks were initially brought out we sat empty for long periods of time w/o refills. We hyped this place up for my friends out of town daughter that was visiting. Overall this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and didn't even come close to leaving any kind of good impression with her. For the price of the meal and drinks I expect quality in both service and food. Front Porch really missed the mark on this one! Very disappointed! read more

I had the chance to stop by here recently while visiting a friend. This restaurant has a great neighborly feel and the service was on point. I tried the braised short rib on asparagus mushroom risotto and it was fantastic. Special shout to Justin for taking awesome care of us. This was my first visit to Front Porch and I only have good things to say. We started with the candied bacon bombs (kielbasa wrapped in bacon along with fried cheese curds). They reminded me of something that would be served at Christmas. My husband had the pulled pork stack and raved about it. I have the Strawberry Fields Salad. It was fresh and tasty and the slivered almonds added a great crush that pushed the salad over the top into delicious. Give this place a try! read more

I actually feel guilty writing this, this is one of hose places that you really want to keep to yourself!! But since that would be stingy of me , here goes. We cam in at 6pm on a Friday night. They were starting to get busy but we were seated immediately. I had a large lunch so i only wanted something light. I got the strawberry salad with balsamic vinegar. Very fresh and good. But it is a salad, cant really go wrong there. The wife opted for the shrimp and grits... Ahhh yes please, very good and flavorful. Since it was a light dinner i had plenty of room for desert!! I had the banana pudding....very good and the burnt sugar on top was a plus. The wife had the bread pudding with homemade ice cream.....ok that was just as good!!! Atmosphere here is really laid back, staff is very friendly. So in a nut shell, if you are in the areas of ross bridge stop by.... And if you aren't... Stop by anyway, great food and great place! I dined here with my mom for mother's day. Upon arrival we were seated very quickly. Our waiter arrived shortly to take our drink orders. The menu has a lot of offer and most everyone can find something they will like. Was excited to try Front Porch while visiting my family in the area, they had visited a few times and really enjoyed it. It is located in Ross Bridge and the street it's on seems to be trying to turn into a little walkable main street which is cool. We came here on a Saturday and were able to get get seated right away. The restaurant is spacious and has a nice laid back atmosphere. We wanted to sit outside, but they were going to sit us at a small table for four with a chair on the end for the fifth person. It looked a little tight so we asked to be seated inside. I don't know why they couldn't pull another table over for us since there was hardly anyone sitting outside, but not a big deal. The waitress came over promptly to get our drink order. I opted for a lemonade so nothing complicated there. My dad wanted to order a bahama mama, the waitress was just like "no, we can't do that". Not sure why because they had a full bar, but they made it seem like you had to order a drink off their menu. My dad ended up ordering some blueberry drink that was on the menu which he was not too fond of. For dinner, I wanted to share a large pizza with someone split half margherita and half el diablo. Again, the waitress was like nope you're not allowed to get two types of pizza on one pie (I felt like I was back in elementary school with all these rules haha). My mom asked if she was sure because she knew they had ordered split pizzas in the past. The waitress went to check with someone and then came back and was like " I don't know who did that for you, but we're not doing that". Sheesh! Thank god we are easy going folks who just go with the flow because I could see other people pitching a fit about all this. We just ordered one of the el diablo and ditched the margherita. When the food came out, I must say the el diablo pizza was very good. It had chorizo, sausage and a variety of other spicy things on it. I liked it a lot although I seemed to find it more spicy than everyone else did. The crust was also very good and as someone who loves pizza that's important to me. My dad had the Pimento burger which I tried and thought it was really good. The only thing is it was extremely, falling apart, have to eat with a fork messy. He has gotten it in the past and said it is not usually this messy. Overall, my experience here wasn't as good as I initially anticipated. The food was above average, but the service left a lot to be desired. My mom was also surprised with the service. I said that since they've been open for awhile now they've probably gotten cocky, and my mom was like I think you're right! Hopefully this place can turn it around. Will I be back? I don't live in the area, i'm sure my family will try it again, but probably will not remain a "regular" spot for them if the service does not improve. read more

We walked in on a Friday night. It was busy. We weren't greeted right away. I waited until I saw someone and asked if I could place a to-go order. We ordered kids sliders. We didn't have to wait too long. The sliders were absolutely delicious. We enjoyed them very much. The kids loved 'em. The service could be better but maybe they were just busy. With COVID, hygiene is key, and while the staff didn't have masks on, there were no hand sanitizers. They were all empty. Not a big deal, but would be a nice to have. read more

This is one of the friendliest places I have ever eaten at. Whether you were sitting at the bar, a table in the bar area, or the dining room, the service is great, the food is wonderful, and the locals are a hoot! My mom, is one of the locals. Every September, I visit there, and I feel like I never left. Employees and customers alike...welcome you with open arms. The owner, Scotty, is a youngster! And welcomes everyone as if he's owned the place for 50 years! The drinks, plentiful. The food...wonderful! I love their baked haddock. It is delicious, moist and sweet ocean tasting. The flatbreads are great to start with, or add a salad and make it a main course. The last meal I had was the steak...one of the best I've ever had anywhere! I came here after work during happy hour to try something new. To my surprise, the drink specials during happy hour are very slim and they only offer two types of appetizers for $3.00 off. The menu does not offer many options to choose from as a whole, but the pizza did seem like it would be appetizing. Due to the fact that I was looking for good happy hour specials, I did not stay. The waiter was nice and informative as to letting me know that they are working on creating more options for their menu. read more
