The Reuben sandwich with spicy chips were yummy and clearly uniquely made

Wow in a great way. My review years ago was 5 stars and tonight it would be even higher. This place is so great with all the things. The atmosphere here is so wonderful. The food ordered is always super tasty. And my favorite desire is always the service and this place has a bunch of great servers that are nice and fun to be around.

I was on my way to be a guest on the Blerd Survival Guide podcast and I had a little time to kill so I popped up over to The Electric after being told many times to try it. So what are the odds that this place was only 3 minutes from my destination! Anyways I popped in and checked out the inside and it was a very cool, comfortable, and hype like establishment. I put my order in online and didn't go in until it was the said time they gave me on the order. When I went in my food wasn't ready and so I had to wait probably another 30 minutes. Staff was working hard though so I wasn't stressing about it to hard. Staff was nice and offered me water while I waited. I finally get my food head back to the car and proceeded to unbox everything. I gotta admit that visually the food looked very good. First up I had the Classic which is a Flatbread that consists of pepperoni, conecuh sausage, mozzarella, provolone cheese, and basil. This ended up being very good. Nothing crazy to wow about but it definitely got the job done. Flavors were decently balanced I think my only grip with this is the pizza sauce could use a bit more work. I still would other this again anyways so don't let that stop you. 7.5/10 Lastly I got The Ballpark which consisted of country sausage, chili, cheddar cheese, yellow mustard, scallions, and hugged tight in a toasted bun. This was probably my favorite thing. The chili was so hot and tasted as if it was homemade. If it's not homemade I want to known where they buy it because it was pretty darn good. I'd eat it on its own! The sausage was very flavorful as well. The only issue with this was the bun it's definitely well toasted it was way to hard for me and shredded the roof of my mouth I would personally change the bun to something else but that'd just me. Either way this bad boy is a will order again and I give it a 8.5/10. Definitely go try this place when you get the chance it was really good and I hope I can come back soon!

Really good local place for lunch. My daughter and I stopped by today and enjoyed some delicious food and good service. I went with the Downhome - bologna sandwich and she tried the Mitchell-cheese, bacon, apple and hot honey. The bread was really good as were the homemade chips. They had really good sweet tea. Highly recommend.

My friend invited me to lunch at The Electric. To tell you the truth, I had never heard of it until we visited, but I'm so glad she introduced me to it. Tucked away in a Bluff Park neighborhood, this is a hidden gem, and if you are looking for something new, you should definitely try it out!! When we visited, I was super impressed with the number of craft beers that were available. They also had a great selection of fun cocktails. I ordered the Frozen Blue Monday which is a pretty drink with vodka, blue, pineapple, and coconut. If you dread Mondays, drop by after work and try one. It will put a smile on your face. Also, check out their Happy Hour specials For food, I ordered a flatbread. It was really good and surprisingly went well with the cocktail. I definitely want to go back, especially for their Tuesday Trivia nights.

Really cool sandwich shop with full bar! I met my friend for lunch. Someone came over as soon as we walked in the door and handed us menus and told us to sit anywhere including outside which was nice since we were the only ones there! I ordered the curry tomato soup to start. It was delicious. I didn't find it to be the least bit spicy as one reviewer complained about. I would definitely get it again. They have salads, sandwiches and flatbreads. I got a sandwich. My friend got a flatbread. We both enjoyed our food very much! I got the Blue Monday to drink. It was really good! After we were done eating, the owner came over and chatted with us which I thought was really nice. He told us about their Tuesday trivia night so we are going to come back for that. I really liked it here and will definitely come here again!

    Boardman OH with Kettle Chips
    John S.

One of my new favorites for lunch. I tried the Boardman, OH (Pastrami & Beer Cheese), the only thing that could make it better would be a freshly baked bun. The Martin's potato roll was good, but fresh baked bread makes everything better. It will be hard to try some of the other options, as good as they sound they don't have the extra beer cheese to dip the kettle chips in. I didn't get one this time but the Cereal Bars were huge and a bargain price. Will definitely try one next time.

5 stars all the way-fantastic little venue with a hip vibe-classic bar menu with variations of country favorites (like the iconic bologna sandwich) and perfectly made cocktails. I had to try many things it all looked delicious and I'm glad I did. The pizza was a spin on a childhood favorite-a pickle sandwich with cheese on toast The tomato curry soup was a home run-an absolutely perfect blend of curry. I was sad when my bowl was empty! The Boardman, Oh sandwich was ooey gooey with beer cheese that had a nice snap of beer tart and salt. Both drinks I had were amazing and well balanced- I'm coming back-I must have the bologna and cheese sandwich with chips (The Downhome) and another cocktail-or two! Finally a restaurant in Alabama worthy of a 5 start review! Well done.

Current Charcoal Grill is…read morethe first restaurant I've been to in years that still understands and executes on everything that makes eating out enjoyable. The service is *excellent* with a capital "E." We ate at the bar, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about every single aspect of the restaurant. They have tried everything on the menu themselves. They can describe any one of the imported liquors up on the wall. These are real deal professionals who illustrate just how important the people in a restaurant's front truly are. The food? Delicious. It's a wild grab bag of East Asian fare - Chinese, Japanese, Thai - and it's all done extremely well. The portions are small, which is good, since you'll want to try half a dozen things on Current's very deliberately thought-out menu. The Peking Duck is some of the best I've had. The cocktails are also excellent, with my favorite being a delicious, earthy combination of coconut, lime, and pandan. It's like an extremely upscale tiki drink. I cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely perfect. 5 stars.

High ceilings and exposed brick are a few of the ways to my heart. If you've seen a post about this place, you've probably seen a picture of the crackly round, artistic dish and wondered what it was. There are dumplings on the underside of it and you break each one off of the crackly part to enjoy. We did enjoy these but I would've loved a soy sauce to dip them in. They came with chili crunch, peanuts, and green onions but I wanted an actual sauce. They were very standard tasting dumplings and there was nothing extraordinary about them unfortunately. As always, we'd looked at the menu beforehand and decided what we wanted. It does state on their website that their menus can change due to freshness and availability. But we'd both decided on an app and entree we wanted only to get there and have none of them on the menu. I do appreciate a rotating menu to accommodate local items, but I would also love for those to be updated on a regular basis. So after rerouting, we decided on the chicken skewers as another app with the dumplings. These were chargrilled, flavorful, and had a nice crust on them. I got shrimp fried rice and Julia got spicy beef noodles. It was fine but I wish the shrimp wouldn't have been cut up. It felt like they chopped them up in order to not put as many in the dish. At $25 for this, I'd like whole shrimp please. There were a few pieces of raw spinach with pepper on the top. I would've loved a sauce of some kind. I would've preferred shrimp hibachi with fried rice from a Japanese place that included vegetables and sauces. This was not *bad* there was just SO much room for improvement. We both agreed that nothing was awful, but for these prices and the hype, we expected more. Our waitress was super friendly. Bonus points because they had match boxes at the host stand! There was a paid parking lot diagonal from the restaurant, so we had to walk through an intersection to get there. There are some spots up front if you can snag one. Overall, we enjoyed our time here but won't be sprinting back.

It might have been the slowest dinner I ever had in my life. I had a 7:00 PM reservation and I arrived early and sat down at 6:50. After being greeted and ordering wine I placed an order of the pork belly appetizer at 7:05. The pork belly appetizer came out at 8:00, 55 minutes after ordering. I placed the entree order at 7:30 and it came out at 8:30. There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. Two three tops and a two top so not even large tables. Why on earth is it taking an hour to get out an order. I have my credit card at 8:50 and got it back at 9:15. 25 minutes to charge a card? I mean I guess you can get busy but the 4 tables here had 3 people helping with them. At no point when the server came by my table did I ever say I needed another minute. So, a 2.5+ hour dinner as a single diner was ridiculous, especially considering they were not busy. The food here was truly incredible, some of the best I've had anywhere I've traveled. I absolutely loved it. You can tell they source fresh, local ingredients daily, and that commitment clearly shines through in the quality of every dish. I started with the pork belly appetizer, which was outstanding. The cut had the perfect balance of meat and fat, expertly cooked with the fat beautifully rendered. The flavors were exceptional as well, finished with a maple glaze and paired with a sweet potato cornbread that was completely unique and memorable. For my main course, I ordered the smoked ribeye, and it was flawless. The quality was top-tier, with gorgeous marbling that truly reflected a prime cut. The smoke flavor was perfectly balanced--present but never overpowering. It had a beautiful crust, was expertly seasoned, and cooked to an ideal temperature. It honestly could not have been better. They also offered a few amuse-bouches that were equally impressive. A single bite of cherry tomato with lamb bacon was one of the best bites I've ever had. To finish, I was served a watermelon and muscadine sorbet with a St-Germain finish, an incredibly thoughtful and skillful dessert. There is an immense amount of talent in this kitchen. You will never be disappointed by the food here. My experience seemed to be overshadowed by the slow service and near the end I was so ready to just leave. However I might consider returning just for the food.
