The highlight of this restaurant is the sweet potato fries with caramel! Yes, caramel. It is a definite game changer. Now, back to Stacy.... he brought us a sample of the fries tot aste before ordering. Theeeeeeeen, he suggested we try the Pulled Pork Stack on our next visit. This is a nice spot in a hip part of town. It is in a small residential area with many of the residents rolling around in golf carts. They have an outdoor patio, a decent sized indoor dining area and bar seating with a full bar, signature cocktails, beer and wine. They have music playing out on the patio and in the dining area and you will find a couple of televisions over the bar and in the dining area as well. The staff there is very friendly and helpful here. I decided to sit outside on the patio since it was a a very nice day and the dining room was full anyway. They have some unique and exotic items on their menu like bacon wrapped sausage. They serve sandwiches, burgers, wings, wraps, steak, salad, fish, and pizza. They also have a large selection of draft, craft beers and wine. You may fine a food special here and they offer catering. I ordered the Cowboy Burger with a side of onion rings. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food and it was warm and fresh. The onion rings were pretty good and had a different flavor to them. The burger was not the best that I have had, but it was good as well and had a grilled taste to it. I got a lot of onion rings and my meal was very filling. I ate it all and was full when I left. I got one of their cocktails to wash down my food, the Blackberry Lemonade. It was savory and thirst quenching. Very good. There is limited free street parking available. It has a 2 hour limit and I did not have any difficulty finding a spot. This restaurant has a cool/hip/casual vibe. I really enjoyed my dinner here. It was very low key. I really enjoyed my lunch at Front Porch! I will start by saying that I would definitely come back and I highly recommend this place to anyone considering it for dining. It is located in a cute residential/commercial area and parking was not an issue. The customer service from beginning to end was great. I met a friend there for lunch and we shared the dip trio and fried pickles. Both were delicious. The food came out so quickly that we only had time to eat half of the appetizers, but we boxed them up to go. My friend and I each ordered the pulled pork stack and boy was that a treat!! I tried my hardest to finish it all because it was sooooo good! The perfect combination of everything! A couple items to note why they lost some stars, we waited about 7 minutes when we walked in and probably was passed by about 8 employees 2-3 times each and not one of them acknowledged us. We are from Texas so we are normally accustomed to at least an acknowledgement maybe a "hi, we will be right with you." We ordered the stack which I read the reviews that it was delicious but we were not a fan, it had this sour taste. The fried pickles were bomb and also I wish that we would have ordered a pizza. Today I was lucky enough to have catered lunch at work. We got to choose our meal and I got the spicy chicken wrap with chips and a chocolate chip/toffee cookie. That wrap was so good! It was huge, full of fresh ingredients and tasty. However the cookie stole the show! It was almost the most perfect cookie I've ever have. I'd go back just for that. We were there for a weekend lunch and all ordered different salads (chef salad, cranberry pecan, wedge) and all had added protein - dressing seemed homemade and were delicious. The absolute best burgers and they were/are worth the drive from TN. The fried pickles are absolutely the best ( 3 of us) had ever had!! My daughter's best friend even said this as we quickly ate them:) Our server( I don't remember her name) also did a great job. My man and I thoroughly enjoyed Front Porch. Within minutes of parking, I noticed that they are seriously enforcing COVID safety measures. Spacing between tables, outdoors seating available, plexi-glass in between booths, and tables marked off where guests cannot sit. The staff all had masks on, and going to our table we passed multiple sanitizing stations. Upon entering, there was a sign outside and immediately inside enforcing mask wearing. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about what he was serving us, and his recommendations were very tasty. I chose the Chicken Scallopini and my man chose the classic cheeseburger with fries. Happy hour is from 3-6 so we made it during those times to be able to try a few drinks. We chose the wells $3 rum and Coke/Diet Coke. The drinks were fairly large for their price, and they were mixed well. I look forward to returning one day to try their other food. My meal was large enough to share as their plating was generous of my favorite Brussels and red potatoes. I would also like to add that their seating is very comfortable and cushioned. The evening we went, they were slammed because of an event at the nearby resort. The hostess was super friendly to everyone who walked in and was the personification of hustle, helping clean tables and trying to get people seated as fast as possible. The server was terrific and brought extra water and made sure everything was just right. The food was fast, hot, and really really good! We had eaten at the resort the night prior, and this was sooo much better. So good, in fact, that my four *teenagers* raved about it for several minutes at the table, and you know how rare that is for teenagers! Even after waiting 30 minutes, it was worth it. read more

A neighborhood restaurant/bar that I check out once or twice a year for convenience's sake. I give it three stars because I think of three stars as average.....and that's honestly what the restaurant is. The food is usually not bad, but it's not great - average. Over time, I've tried their salad, a couple of their appetizers, a couple of their sandwiches, and a couple of their entrees. All are okay at best. On my latest visit this week, the hostess that greeted us when we first arrived at the restaurant had an attitude. I'm not sure why the attitude as the restaurant was not even half full. Honestly it wasn't really a pleasant start. Luckily our actual server was very nice and efficient. I tried their BLT on this particular visit and specifically asked for the bacon to be extra crispy. The bacon wasn't extra crispy. The bacon wasn't crispy at all. The bacon was actually hard in parts and floppy in others. This BLT ended up being below average unfortunately at $12. Both the BLT from Jason's Deli and the BLT at Gilchrist are much better at about half the price (not accounting for the fries, to be fair). The sweet potato fries that came with the BLT would have been very good with its caramel drizzle....except the fries came cold. Note that the bill now comes with a credit card service fee of 2.75%, whether you pay with a credit card or not. I paid with cash and was still charged a credit card fee. read more

I don't know how I managed not to review this place before. It's so good! Sits on a quiet street in Ross Bridge and definitely worth the drive if you're out and about. A must visit if you're already in the area. Full bar, lots of good beer. Professionally run so you don't run into the kinds of problems you see in some places with high turnover. The crew here is familiar and friendly and they know their stuff well. Laid back atmosphere, lots of seating both indoors and out. The menu is a combination of familiar things that you'd expect to find in a regular bar and grill, and some things that go a step up and show a nice bit of creativity. Burgers, sandwiches, (get the Cuban), and then things like "bacon bombs" which are bacon wrapped smoked sausage chunks drizzled with a maple glaze. I'll have an order of those please. For dessert they've got a number of options, and all the ones I've had have been good, but it's the bread pudding that steals the show. Just order it. Overall this place is a laid back, easygoing spot with good drinks, well executed food and friendly service in a nice clean atmosphere. Hard to go wrong. read more

My first restaurant back in Birmingham, I must admit this wasn't my first choice, but it definitely didn't disappoint. Me and a couple of my homies all linked up to grab a beer and lunch. The area is a nice area, very nice and huge homes, along with a golf course, playground and pools for the kids. I had ordered the blood orange beer and to my surprise it was definitely a strong blood orange flavor. I enjoyed that beer and had to order another one. I then ordered the fried pickles for an appetizer which were lightly battered which I enjoyed and with the ranch along with the white barbecue sauce to dip, were great. I then ordered the hot black/Asian zing mixed wings with the sweet potato fries. That combo of sauces were great, it was like a sweet Buffalo sauce. The sweet potato fries didn't disappoint either, crisp and not soggy at all. My friend ordered the happy hour nachos, which isn't listed on the menu. It had tortilla chips, with pulled pork, diced tomatoes, and cheese of course. She liked her meal. I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps. It came with five or so Boston lettuce leaves, and a small bowl of diced chicken, red peppers, and peanuts, in a stew-like mixture. It was spicy but fine to me. I think it wasn't dry enough to eat on a lettuce leaf. It was messy to eat. Service was fine. We sat outside on the patio and it was pleasant. I'm not a fan of the restaurant based on my meal today. Front Porch is a great traditional American restaurant with wonderful food. I ordered the famous Stack that seems to be a popular choice and my friend got the pizza. The Stack was one of the more unique dishes I have had but even though it looks and sounds odd the dish itself is phenomenal. All the different layers of the dish come together very well, though it can be a bit hard to eat. I also had a slice of the pizza and it was top tier as well. Finally I ordered the bread pudding, bread pudding is one of my favorite deserts and they did the dish justice. Overall this place is a great option to grab a bite to eat at, I plan to go again when I am back in the area. read more

Things started off fine. We came out on Sunday and were greeted and seated and the place and neighborhood itself are lovely. But things went downhill pretty quickly. Our waitress got our orders, food came out in time. My sister got the steak which was super processed and seemed frozen. I took a bite and have had better steaks at Waffle House. She did however, enjoy her mashed potatoes. I got the front porch burger and it was fine but fell apart because they didn't put the sauce on the bun but on the lettuce and onions which caused the lettuce and tomato to slip around and and the onions to fall out. It got really messy. The fries are the only reason this place gets 2 stars. They were great, some of the best I had. The service is what needs help. I asked for some sauce for my fries and after 10 mins didn't get it so I asked the waitress again. She forgot and apologized. But they weren't that busy. We didn't get drink refills and had to get up ask for boxes ourselves. As we left no one from the restaurant said bye or told us to have a nice day. I won't be back but if you want good fries and subpar service this place may work for you. For me the prices didn't match the quality and service we received. read more

For an appetizer I ordered the candied bacon bombs. It's a hotdog cut up wrapped in bacon. No taste at all..the fried cheese curds are ok. My girlfriend ordered the chicken sandwich which barely had any of the "special" sauce. The bacon was extremely over cooked to the point where it's rock hard. The sweet potato fries which is topped with a caramel sauce (she absolutely loves sweet potato fries) was the only thing she was excited for... welp. She couldn't even finish them because they were completely covered with the sauce which made them too sweet :( I'm a huge fan of chicken wings.. so I was extremely excited to try them. Sauce 1/10. There was barely any sauce.. to the point where you could see that the wings were not even fully cooked. Definitely wouldn't recommend. The burger.. For twelve bucks was not worth it. Basic nothing special about it. The "special sauce" which my burger didn't come with (had to order it on the side) is just thousand island dressing. If you're in the area..
