Moab was at the tail-end of our trip and we had just gone through a pretty taxing rental car issue when we arrived.. so needless to say we were seeking an escape. The town was really lovely, and we were looking forward to meeting with MDA for a climb up Looking Glass. We were introduced to Larry, the manager of operations and an accomplished adventure guide for the company. Larry was just a fantastic guy all around.. polite, funny, he kept us engaged through the whole experience, and even acted as tour guide for us so we could get a good sense of what Moab had to offer. Looking Glass itself was a phenomenal experience. I'm a first-time climber and my friend had some experience under her belt, but we are both in good shape and Larry briefed us on exactly what the demands were for the climb and what we were to expect. After a crash course in harnessing, belaying, and the ensuing climb, it didn't take us more than an hour to summit. Larry was a gem, helped us gather some great photos, and even took us along the scenic route back to show us different sites along the way. The experience was precisely what we were looking for, we wouldn't hesitate to book another tour with Larry again.

So we were just with my son and myself and Justin and Luna, Justin's dog. We went into the mountains up to a point where we put on our wet suites and from there started our descent via waterfalls and cliffs. Highly recommendable

All solid bolts with the exception of the second bolt on the second pitch are slightly loose but unfortunately didn't have the equipment to fix. Just bolts on third pitch anchors, no chains or rings. A 60m rope runout on a double rap on the third pitch, but it's walkable to pitch 2 anchors --make sure you close the system. Climbed on 06-22-2018. Didn't see any rattlers on this climb --though their holes are everywhere.

We were a bit thrashed from climbing Honeymoon Chimney the day prior in nasty winds and my climbing partner was sick, so this seemed like the perfect objective. The amphitheater/arch are quite spectacular and it's worth the short hike even if you don't want to climb. We were there on a Sunday and it wasn't a zoo like some areas in Arches. The arch is ~5 min from the parking lot. No water/bathrooms so plan ahead. DIRECTIONS The easiest way to get to the arch is to turn right on Looking Glass Road (23 miles from central Moab on Hwy 191 south). If you hit Wilson Arch you've gone too far. Once on Looking Glass Road the side road to Looking Glass Rock is signed. The road is passable with 2WD or low clearance vehicles.

We had the absolute best time with her -- she went along with our goofy vibe from the get-go and even took pictures of our whole group along the way since none of us wanted to bring our phone on the river. I felt safe doing the Class I/II rapids and even got out to swim in one, per Savannah's suggestion. The bus ride to the put-in is about 45 minutes and about half that on the way back and the other guides get up and give information about the surrounding landscape in a very funny, engaging way. Would absolutely do this again, next time, with our kids! 10/10.

She was hilarious, incredibly knowledgeable, and kept us laughing all day with river guide stories and jokes. One of our favorite parts was when Molly pointed out a Padlé Oarefish. We'd never even heard of one before! She explained they're unusually flat fish, most commonly yellow with blue, red, or pink accents, and they're surprisingly well camouflaged along the river. Such a cool thing to learn! She also showed us a rock formation that looked exactly like Winnie the Pooh wearing a beret and breathing fire. Once you see it, you can't unsee it! The wildlife was unbelievable. We saw bighorn sheep, three otters, geese, blue herons (mud flamingos), a baby deer, a fox catching a fish, and a huge eagle nest. Molly said we're officially her lucky group because they usually only see a couple of those animals, and she'd never seen the deer or the fox on a trip before. Lunch was fantastic too! The "conewiches" were surprisingly delicious. We were a little hesitant because we'd never tried Mediterranean food before, but the homemade Mediterranean salad with feta and kettle chips folded into a tortilla absolutely rocked. I'm still wishing I had Molly's recipe! If you're thinking about rafting in Moab, book the Fisher Towers trip with Red River Adventures. If you get Molly as your guide, consider yourself lucky. You'll leave with great memories, sore cheeks from laughing, and probably a newfound appreciation for the rare and majestic Padlé Oarefish. Oh, and I t's officially Hank's Bubble Bath in our book.
