    California wrap

Food was good. I had the California chicken wrap, they did forget my avocado, but not a big issue to drop their rating. Wife had the boneless wings and Parmesan fries. They do have a draft selection of craft beer.

Crispy Chicken Sandwich with onion rings
    Shawna M.

Crispy Chicken sandwich was delicious, hand breaded and barely fit on the bun. Subbed fries for onion rings, crispy and fresh. My husband had the Reuben sandwich and was pleased with actual corned beef and not thin sliced lunch meat. Would get both again.

    Patty Melt & waffle fries
    Candace M.

We've never been here before. Beer selection is awesome. We both had the patty melts & waffle fries. Their kitchen is open till 1030p on the weekend. Samantha is a super friendly bartender, we'll be back.

Table at the entrance where we had place cards, cake, and decorations!

The Whistle is a great place for watching games or any sports. Maybe just get better food. You can find crap tons to get but it could be too complicated for the chaotic kitchen. Crowded when we got in. It's got a few big ass TVs so you can watch tons of games going on. There's a lot of areas for tables. Along the walls were the more personal ones for couples. There's also a long bar but there was no room there. It has a lot of specials including Teeling Small Batch whiskey shots at $5 on Mondays. There's a crap ton on the menu including tacos. A lot of things to choose from. It's about $11 for the Vegetable Tacos. A great choice among the vegetarian options. These are topped with avocado, cheese but I left it off, lettuce, onions, peppers, and pico de gallo, filling stuff. Great place for hanging and being crazy. It's got another location in Oak Lawn so have fun there too. The service is kind of slow but they're usually slamming so whatever.

It did not taste like lemon. We did not take home our leftovers, my wife had manicotti's. The manicotti was better than the lemon poser rigatoni dish. The cauliflower app was good but the sauce and toppings must have cost a lot or something to make bet it was basically deep fried and very very lightly drizzled. We ordered our appetizer drinks and meal all at the same time. Thank the lord we did cause I don't think we would have seen our server much anyways. Our server was nice as all the servers were when we saw them. The prices were as expected. It is a nice restaurant. Families were there couples, a nice mix of people for the restaurant I would go again but I was not really impressed. If I was being asked on a second date i definitely would have to play hard to get if this was the destination. It did not live up to the hype for me. I know it's a nice looking restaurant I can get reservations to and bring my kids and family. Food and drink wise I'd stick to beer and wine no seasonal offerings and go for what they pride themselves on...smoked foods

We went to Phoenix Kitchen for date night last night. This was our second time dining here. Phoenix…read moreKitchen describes themselves as a modern upscale casual dining experience, serving locally sourced new American cuisine. Erica took great care of us this evening. She was so sweet, service with a smile. We started with a couple of their handcrafted cocktails. Hubby had tonight's special drink, a Gold Rush. I had the sister to a Gold Rush, a Bees Knees. It's just a matter of bourbon vs gin. Both are refreshing cocktails made with honey and lemon. We shared the Spanish octopus to begin, a perfectly grilled octopus tentacle in a romesco sauce topped with pico de gallo and toasted almonds. We thoroughly enjoyed it. A generous portion and so tender. Hubby had the Saturday night special, the smoked prime rib. It came with grilled vegetables and truffle fries. He had this speciality last time. This time it was so fatty (see photo). I had the grouper puttanesca with couscous. I love grouper but I felt it was salty. With capers and anchovy, the fish didn't need salt as these things bring salt to the dish. However, our entrees were generous in size and tasty. We definitely like this restaurant. They have a loyalty program, plenty of seating inside and out, a nice bar area and a Vegas-style gaming room. Phoenix Kitchen even nixed using seed oil at their restaurant. We did miss out on the complimentary house-made limoncello this time. What's up with that?!
