My husband and I love Frontera! The service is always fantastic!! Immediately after being seated, you are greeted with warm chips and two kinds of salsa. My husband prefers the spicy salsa, I like the dark brown sweeter salsa. We can't say enough good things about this establishment. We always feel welcomed and the food is phenomenal. My favorite dishes are: steak burrito al carbon and the fish tacos! Yum! The steak is so tender and the queso cheese they serve over the burrito tops it off :) We've been eating here for three years now. The manager, Abel goes above and beyond. He always stops by our table and says hello. In fact, he even remembers our names. This certainly shows how much he cares about his restaurant and his guests. Food is okay. Pricey for what you get. Chips are good. Salsa okay. We have been at least a dozen times and have never felt welcome by the staff. I don't get the normal stuff often (tacos, etc). I usually get a meal like the carnitas. My wife likes the spinach quesadillas. Okay if you are craving some south of the border munchies. read more

I wish there was an option to put no stars because i would. We came here to celebrate my mother's birthday and it was a huge mistake. Our waiter took forever to take our order, then brought only one persons meal out. Not only that but everyone else didn't even get their food until 30 minutes later. When the food finally came out everything was wrong, they tried to hand us steaming hot plates, my sisters hamburger was soggy it almost looked like it was dipped in water, a margarita was ordered and it tasted like there was no tequila in it at all and shrimp tacos were also ordered and the shrimp was literally green and smelt HORRIBLE. What a Cinco de Mayo nightmare. Arrived to wait through a zoo of people waiting for a table. Once I got to the root of the line to give my name to the hostess I was ignored as the hostess looked behind me to get the name of the woman behind me so I explained I was next and got a dirty look from the 4 hostesses as they made note of my name for my party of two. So I waited for my turn which took a long time I thought. As I noticed people who arrived after me being seated I asked why and was told my name had been scratched off the list because I didn't respond when they called my name. Two other couple who arrived before me also experienced the same thing. I suspect 2 people at a table isn't as profitable as 4 people. Finally we were seated. The people behind my table were seated after me yet were enjoying their drinks and had ordered their food when I interrupted her from taking the order of table of 11 whose table was so close to mine that the chairs were touching my table. I insisted she take our order and perhaps the other couple seated next us who were seated before us yet were also being ignored. Again I wonder if a party of 2 is less profitable than large groups. I watched as the waitress struggle to climb over coats, chairs, and children to take the orders. Suppose a fire broke out, was the poor couple now blocked in going to die? Thank goodness there was no fire. When the ladies who arrived after us were now served their food and still no drinks for us I decided it was time to see the general manager who offered a second waiter to serve our table instead of just the poor overworked waitress covering 8 tables by herself. After I returned to our table the drinks were there and my girlfriend was upset. She asked for extra salsa but felt ignored again by the waitress. The table of 11 whose table was too close moved their jacket across our table. Not a little bit but almost knocking over our drinks. This was the last straw. Finally we did what I recommend which is get up and walk out. Train your staff. Treat your customers, each and everyone, with fairness and respect. Seat your customers with enough space they don't fear for their lives. read more

This is my favorite Mexican spot in Lawrenceville. The food and service is always consistent. The Homemade Guacamole is always on point. You can never go wrong with a Burrito Al Carbon w/ skirt steak cooked medium, and adding grilled onions and peppers. Best served with charro beans and a side of infierno sauce! Kim and Joel do phenomenal work behind the bar. It's always nice being treated as if you were home. They're very welcoming and its service at its best with a smile. They introduced me to a Smoked Skinny Margarita. Woah, let me tell you... it was so good and refreshing. They use a torch to burn a lime wedge along with an oak wood plank. Rim the glass with pink Himalayan Salt, then they shake things up by using Casa Noble Joven! Wow! Best part about it is that you get to keep the shot glass they used to make your Smoked Margarita! A lot of good memories with family and friends, youth sports teams, and date night happened here. They always had the very best service in the past. After my experience tonight I will NOT be returning to this frontera. While I have eaten in this restaurant, I decided to do takeout. We called in the order and went to pick it up. Everything was fine until we opened our cheese dip and saw it had jalapeños in it when we ordered it without. Upon returning to receive the correct dip and to buy an additional one, the manager asked where the original dip was despite having seen the receipt. He also kept looking at his watch and the time on the receipt to imply we were attempting to cheat him out of $9 cheese dip? As well as purchasing another one? I shouldve left right then and there but my family wanted the dip. The manager kept making sly comments about how we didnt bring the origi al one back just for him to throw it away just like we did? I held my son's graduation luncheon here last Saturday and Frontera knocked it out of the park. I had a party of 30 and had a reserved space just for my event. I held a buffet style event and the food just kept coming exactly how it was described to me when I was doing my research regarding where I would hold the party. They were ready for me and allowed me to decorate and bring my own cake. I had 2 servers that were assigned to my party who were on top of it from the get go - assuring my guests had what they needed, refilling drinks, bringing out chips and checking in with me throughout the party to assure I was satisfied. I already loved this place but now want everyone to know that this is the place if you want to hold an event. I couldn't be more satisfied with everything - the day was perfect! LOVE this restaurant. They make my favorite dish perfect every time. My only complaint is I can't ever finish my dinner because of the salsa and chips. If i could give 0 stars I would. We went for dinner as a group of 8. Food was great as usual but the service was a nightmare. We were sat in the center of a large area. Both managers Jose & Luis went around checking on every table & skipped us every single time. Turns out we were the only non white group there. Coincidence? I don't think so. We needed several refills & we were simply ignored. We waited almost 2 hours for our food. Finally after waiting sooo long we walked to the front & adressed the managers. They seemed to have no clue that we were even there. How can you miss the largest party in a room? They apologized but the damage was done. We asked if they were racist. This Frontera location is great - it's a little smaller than most Frontera's but its the one that is always packed! The food is good and the margaritas are the best! Try the cheese dip - you will not be disappointed - best cheese dip ever! The soups are really good too as are the salads. We ate here tonight and the service was the worst. Our waiter Diego treated us like he just didn't give a damn. Our entrees came with our soup which took 30 min and was cold when're were ready to eat. I mentioned it to Diego that it would need to be reheated and he walked away. We had to call him over again to get them reheated. 20 min later and our fajitas came out and were really good, but by then the beans, rice and tortillas were cold and he never offered to replace them. Being in Europe for a month means craving Tex-Mex, and I'll say that Frontera hit the spot as my go-to Tex Mex place. It's nothing amazing, but it's always been consistently good for me, perhaps because my family has eaten there for years and we know just about everyone. Pro-tip: if you want "cleaner" tasting chicken that isn't as shredded and has a little less spice, ask for the "white chicken" and they'll know what you mean. A few of my favorite and family favorite dishes are the fajitas (which you can get with vegetables instead of rice and beans if you ask), the crazy taco, nachos supreme, and sopapillas (a dessert of chips, cinnamon, sugar, butter, and whipped cream). read more

Service is great and the beer is cold - Food is tasty but ground beef dishes can be a little soggy as beef could have been drained off a little better. Honestly The worst customer service experience ever. Time after time. You might as well walk in and let them feed you what they want. We've been there twice and both times we've had the privilege to get the worst experience. The first time We order take out they charged us for the Extra extra rice and beans which were no where inside. We decided not to make it a huge deal. Come to find that all we had received were desserts and not our Chimichangas. We decided to call in because our dinner was ruined. What shock me the most is the fact that they wanted to fight and argue that we were wrong, Because we order Diablo sauce to put on The Dessert Chimichangas, Right?! And Beans on the Flan?! When we where their the same gentleman that took our order argued that the sauce in the bag the saw we wanted. As my wife told him in a polite manner it wasn't he went to the back still brought the incorrect one. She didn't want to make him go back so ended up settling. I'm sure in this time in days there's surveillance so that can back up the fact that your ppl in to pay more attention. Not to mention the vulgarities that are displayed by the Waiters. Went to this Frontera back on December 21, 2015 and everything was great! Checked my bank account today and have been charged three times already for this specific meal from December 21. I haven't been back to this location since that date. It seems as though the server I had (middle-aged man - can't remember his name) has been charging me ever since. I feel like I was ripped off today and I ate lunch at your restaurant in Suwanee/Lawrenceville and ordered a Numero Uno from the back of the menu. I was given my meal and at the time I asked about the chili reyeno and was told it did not come with it when I remembered it but I figured I may have read wrong. When I get the check I saw a 8.99 charge instead of the 5.99 charge. again I guessed I may have misread it. I checked the menu on the way out and saw that the numero uno has a chili reyano and was only 5.99. The person at the register said I must have ordered the inside #1 which is maybe what the server put in and did not want to do anything about this problem. As you can see there were many opportunities to listen to the customer when the meal came out and I asked about it I was told I was wrong and again at the register when the person would not even provide a small adjustment. Looks like another bad review in yealp and maybe you lost a customer.. May have to try the other place a few miles away if your restaurant doesn't care about its customers. read more

Went to visit a friend in Lawrenceville and decided to go here for lunch today. I ordered the fajitas. The staff was very nice and the waitress came just in time with sometime to drink and to take my order. I love when waitresses are mindful of your cup and quickly refill. Absolutely horrible service from the time we walked in to the time we received our check. We had a party of 9 (4 adults and 5 teens). They told us it was going to be 45 min. We told the hostess they could split us between two tables. She said they couldn't do that. We said we would do 2 separate checks and we didn't need the same server. She was very disrespectful and dismissive. She than walked away. We complained to the manager and told her we wanted her to be aware. Our waitress, Sophia, for the adults was great. Our kids and friends got their check and there was a $10 service fee added on. When we asked what it was for, she said they had a service fee for parties of 5 or more with bills over $50??? We than asked the other manager Juan and he removed the fee. Parents with teens, explain to your kids to look over their checks. If we didn't catch this, our kids would've paid the bill plus a tip. They also said their waitress was very rude. We will not be going back to Frontera in Lawrenceville. We recommend visiting Sugarloaf or Sugar Hill location. read more
