Frontier is an a-la-carte airline. You purchase a ticket but you can't use it until you purchase a seat. More importantly, direct customer service also comes at a cost ($10). Otherwise, you are on your own. Although chat is available on the website, you will chat with a bot. The bot told me that I was sent an email regarding my flight cancellation and that I needed to proceed using the included link. It would resend the email if needed, but no assistance was available beyond that. My issue was paying for round trip seating at my initial reservation and paying for round trip seating upon rescheduling my return flight. I sent an email and am awaiting resolution. The seats (see photo) are not well cushioned and your tush will likely remind you of sitting on the plane. However, if your flight is less than three hours, you might be okay. Note the tray table is big enough for your phone only (see photo). On top of that, the seats do not recline. Reservations indicatemore leg room is available in some seats but I didn't bite. The seats behind the Exit rows are about the same as any other seat on the plane. Remember, there are NO freebies. Your carry-on has size limitations and you will pay for a second carry on, checked bags, and food/drinks on the plane. The restrooms are free. I must give Frontier credit for canceling the return flight through Orlando during Hurricane Ian a day in advance vs. flying me in and me being stuck there for days. However, they failed to notify me that my gate had changed. Fortunately, I checked about an hour out and had plenty of time to get to the new gate. read more

Within 24 hours, the price increased 3 times. The third time, I had just logged in, quickly entered my information and was trying to navigate to the payment page, and it knocked me out of the website. I would rather walk to my destination than take this slimy airline again. As many have noted, they delay and cancel flights quite frequently. This happened to my connecting flights on a trip (right after I boarded the first flight). When my first flight landed, I received an email giving me a travel voucher. When I attempted to go online and get a refund, I was informed that I could not receive one at all because I got a travel voucher already (NEVER requested one) and because I already took the first flight of my trip (I had already boarded, what was I supposed to do!?). I ended up having to purchase an American ticket just to get home. They are not worth doing business with, just pay the extra money for a real airline and avoid the headaches of this clown ass company. read more

Frontier Airlines seemed to be a great fit I arrived at the airport 7:50am we were to be there at 8:20. There were about 60 people inline. However you only had two front desk agents checking in and weighing the bags.  There was agent that approached the desk- cut the line with two passenger. The agent advised the couple the gate was closed. She then looked at me and said were you ahead of them.  I said yes.  She checked my drivers license and casually said you have to take the next flight which is Thursday but you want get to Missoula, Montana until Friday.  I let her know my camp make a dream retreat is Thursday not Friday. She said that's all she can do . I called my ride and left. I requested a refund through chat. They said no . Also said I was a no show. Bought ticket for $190.50 from Charlotte to Trenton/ Philly. It never said that I had to pay for a carry on . It actually says does not specify you allow to bring baggage. LITERALLY PAY MORE FOR A DIFFERENT FLIGHT. Every single time I fly frontier I'm let down. Customer service is actually the worst. I feel like they hire from the back of dumpsters. I had to wait 30 mins for this man to tell me that my boarding pass was a straight thru flight. All I needed to know it was a simple question, my flight to SFO from Charlotte. The board said Vegas so it was a valid question. But he took his sweet time doing whatever he was going and helped this other woman from Southwest who was just as rude. I even said "Good morning" to be nice, she actually looked at me and looked away. The guys when I told him my quick question told me to wait. I actually am extremely dumbfounded on how rude they both where. I work customer service and have been for about 10 years. I know how and how not to treat people so I know I'm not over exaggerating. Frontier fix your customer service. ESPECIALLY IN CHARLOTTE NC, I really don't want to throw this in but I thought this was a military friendly state and if this is how they treat veterans then I can't even fathom giving you more money. I had a flight leaving from Charlotte, North Carolina on September 22, 2024, and when I got to my flight first, it was delayed 20 minutes then when the flight got there plane getting a seat to board my ticket TBD, which means to be determined for the seat and they told me that they didn't have enough room on the plane for me and then I could get a refund because I told them that the next flight would be too late for me to catch the event that I was flying out to attend, I put in the QR code that they gave me refund and explained the reason why I didn't hear back from frontier and I kept calling. I called my bank to try to get a refund through my bank couldn't get a refund through my bank is telling me that my flight was at a different time from what my flight says, and then on top of that they didn't want to give me a refund because they said that my flight was never delayed it. We actually had a good experience with them! Our plane had an issue with the fan and we had to deplane BUT they got us on another plane almost immediately and got us on our way! I was pleasantly surprised. They kept us constantly updated on the situation and handled everything very well for a "budget" bare bones airline. read more

This was my first time flying with Frontier. It was the worst experience from beginning to end. Customer service was awful. Nonexistent. They wouldn't even help with questions about our tickets, or they would have to charge us. The area that we boarded in Las Vegas was crowded and dirty. My suitcase was completely torn up. It was the last bag on the carousel, and it was put in a big clear plastic bag. No explanation at all. The zipper was fine. It was not overloaded either. Frontier airlines made sure of that. You can tell it was abused. There was no one to talk with or help us at our final destination, Charlotte. We went to the ticket agent in Charlotte, and she couldn't care less either. She said the manager was at the gate getting a plane off. We asked if there was anyone else. Nope! We just took our beat-up bag and went home. Ticket agent wouldn't even give us her name either. The cost of these low budget airlines may seem good at the time, but we've learned our lesson. We certainly will not fly Frontier again. The worst! read more

CLT based crew is complete sticklers for following the rules. Meaning, if you have a backpack they WILL NOT let you put it in to the overhead compartment (EVEN IF ITS EMPTY). You may not shift seats at all, you will be scolded. If you break the rules, you are watched like a hawk and will be scolded. Frontier falsely advertises that 20K miles gets you an Elite Status. At one point, several years ago, I had Elite, as I average 25K/year. Then it disappeared. Messages as to why my status has not been updated has not given me one answer. My mileage has ranged from 35K to 23K. No Elite status. Customer service, if you ever get anyone, operates in the Star Wars tradition of "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...." I've called, emailed every leadership name I could find on LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. Nothing. Recently I used 20K miles, and still have 23K left. My profile indicates 40 trips to Trenton - 40! ; 10 trips to Philly! and those are Roundtrips from CLT. My status has remained 'Member', 3007 miles tracked towards status, and Distance flown 0, even as it records my past trips. What kind of mathematical dunce is non-managing this???!! Now, to be fair - I continue to fly with them as the route goes directly to TTN from CLT where I go to check on my mother 2x/mo, who has ALZ. The teams in both locations are great! (PHL - horrible!) CLT & TTN teams are very kind and accommodating to my mother, as they have come to know and remember her when I bring her to CLT for a visit. For them, Frontier gets 2 stars - and that is only because of the teams. But don't be fooled - Elite is a joke! Don't believe the hype. read more

Sent from my iPhone I encountered a very disturbing situation with Frontier Air at the Philadelphia airport on September 7, 2021. I was very surprised to encounter at least nine very rude Frontier employees. I routinely fly between Philadelphia and Charlotte and have never once felt motivated and angry enough to write a letter of complaint. I'm a grandmother just visiting the grandkids. I do it a lot. Frontier is my preferred airline because of the perfect schedule and the best price. I was scheduled on Frontier flight # 2315 from PHL-Philadelphia, PA to CLT - Charlotte, NC on September 07, 2021. The flight was delayed, and there was a gate change. I went to gate 9 as directed, and waited. A Frontier employee came through asking if there was anyone going to Charleston ... not me, I'm going to Charlotte. So I continued waiting. After waiting over an hour, I realized something was wrong and I went looking for assistance. I approached 3 girls (in green shirts) upstairs, I told them what happened. They told me to go look for someone in a green shirt. I walked back and forth upstairs and couldn't find anyone. Then I called Frontier for help and I couldn't get a human. Then I went downstairs to the ticketing area. I encountered 6 girls in green shirts. The first person I spoke with looked it up on the computer and said it was my fault, and my ticket was forfeited. The next flight out was the following morning. No courtesy, no compassion at all. At this point I'm starting to tear up.. "Mean girl" #1 said, "You need to be nicer." I was nice. I was just crying. The next "mean girl" said, "You get back what you give." I was crying, they knew that. Then all six of them started cackling and laughing at me. It was blatant mean behavior. They were taking great pleasure in humiliating me. Just typing these words cannot convey the sneers on their faces and the derision in their voices. I told one of the more antagonistic "mean girls" that she wasn't the one helping me and she should go away. When she said, "Make me," that was all I could take. I fell apart sobbing. I did say a very bad 4 letter word when I stomped off in tears. As I walked away, they continued laughing hysterically. Several of them said, "Have a nice day!" I didn't in any way deserve the treatment I received. I then made phone calls to customer service. Joe at the 9000 number was at least kind, and Dan Cooper on my second call was kind and also helpful. He said he would send an email outlining my experience to the "higher ups." I asked him to send me a copy of his email, which didn't happen, but I get it. I'm more than willing to admit I may have misunderstood the instructions, or made a mistake ... but when I went to find help, I was met with hostility. Six girls downstairs. They seemed to take joy in my confusion. I'm not used to being ridiculed in public and that's exactly what happened. Once I was in tears, it went downhill from there. I told my daughter in Charlotte what happened, and she found a flight later that evening on American Airlines. Initially I was a hot mess because I got my feelings hurt. Now I'm just really angry. I would like to make sure those six mean girls don't have a very nice day! I forfeited my $96.44 flight for what may, or may not, have been my own fault. read more

This airline is awful. I have used them because I am a student with a low income and their prices are cheap. However, I have flown home from college 5 times in the past 18 months and of the 10 flights, 7 have been delayed by more than 4 hours and 2 have been totally cancelled. The other flight was on time leaving but we sat on the runway at our destination for 55 minutes before they let us deplane. They are awful. DO NOT USE THEM. I'm giving this review a terrible rating for the simple fact that it was unnecessary. We flew to Ontario, CA from Charlotte for a business trip. All of our flights there were wonderful. The first leg of the trip back was great as well. However, the last leg of our trip from Orlando back to Charlotte was terrible. Dawn, the flight was particular rude to me for whatever reason. My bag had to be out horizontal in the carry on bin because it was expanded. That had not been a problem on any of my flights except this one which she said "she would allow it". Meanwhile, several other passengers got on and had to put their bags horizontally and nothing was said to them. I was sitting in an exit road and she came back and said she need to give us all the safety review. We were ALL looking at her and giving our undivided attention. She looks at me and says "Ma'am, I need your attention as well". Not sure what more I could have done outside of looking directly in her face. Seems like Dawn was having a very poor day (with me because she was very friendly with everyone else). I hope she gets some vacation soon, a drink, and whatever else she needs for her attitude adjustment. To the other flight attendants that were kind and accommodating, thank you! read more

So besides all the hidden fees they add on which dramatically raises the ticket price, we had flight delays on both segments and to top it all off they lost my luggage. My flight arrived on Wednesday, July 14th and I finally got my luggage 48 hours later. Another issue is that they don't have a direct line to call them at Charlotte-Douglas Airport and their customer service team is located somewhere offshore and provided no assistance.
