I just flew Frontier for the first time from Memphis to Denver and it was Wonderful! I knew it was a budget airline by the price, which made a quick spontaneous trip to Denver an easy splurge! The plane was comfortable and clean. There is a charge for a carry on so I opted to pack light in a small messenger bag that easily fit in the free allowed size and I honestly didn't wear everything I took! It was only a couple hour flight so I opted not to have a snack, but they were available to purchase. The very best part about Frontier was the staff! The gate crew, pilots, and flight attendants were Wonderful! Everyone was patient, kind, and professional! We are already looking at other destinations! read more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible! First time ever flying and never gain. I paid for (1) bag check in for departing and returning flight. Upon returning the paid bag was not in the system, even though I had a copy of the email, copy of the Frontier add on for the baggage charge and screen shot of all. Clearly it showed that I had paid for (2) bags even though each trip I had only (1) bag. Well, I encountered rude, unprofessional Helen Dixon at the counter who should never be interfacing with the public. Bad attitude, facial reactions and rude. She was not listening to anything I was explaining. Said needed to call a supervisor, that took about 15 minutes to come. Kathy came, looking tired, bloodshot eyes with no desire to help. I am showing her all the above information, an email from their system showing paid for bags. She starting playing games. Asked how did I pay for them? I told her credit card-which she can see. Said "I should have used Frontier credit card", and ignored all my information, walked away and made me pay again. This is totally "fraud". They probably are doing a lot of people this way and getting away with it. You are stuck at the airport to pay for something again even though you have paid and they will not honor it. I will be sending a complaint to the Colorado attorney general, the Department of Transportation, all the ranking members of House and Senate Transportation Committees and writing a letter to 60 Minutes. I had no idea they were this bad until you go to various sites and read ALL their bad reviews. Helen Dixon is bad, Kathy the so-call supervisor, the CEO Barry Biffle, and their board of directors. They are literally taking people money for services that you already have paid for-and erasing it from their system to say you have not paid. A top law firm need to begin a class action lawsuit to help customers recover financial damages for these fraudulent tactics. Before I get to my review, there are three things you need to know about flying on Frontier, if you're a first-timer like me: 1. You pay for carry-on luggage. 2. They close the door ten minutes before the flight leaves. 3. All snacks and beverages are for purchase only on board and they only take credit/debit cards. The best way I can describe this low-budget airline is that everything is a la carte. Travel is bare bones - you are just paying to put your body in a seat. Every other service or product that follows is at your discretion. For example, you can either pay to choose your seat or wait until you arrive at the airport. On board, non-bottled water is the only free beverage (Side Note: It was interesting to see that only two people bought snacks/beverages on my whole flight). On the flight I took, there was no first class. Everyone was in the same-sized seat. Perhaps, they can get more seats in the plane? They also have really tiny tray tables that are not even the length/width of a computer tablet. I just might prefer these tray tables that are not bulky. I should add the crew was courteous. No complaints in that department. Frontier is worth a try! As long as you know what to expect ahead of time, you won't be surprised by the a la carte costs. I am grateful Frontier invested in the town where I live and plan to retire (Memphis), after Delta de-hubbed the airport. We really need to return the investment so flights can stop being so difficult and expensive to book. read more

Customer Service from Ticket Agent? Nada Ticket Agent informed me I did not have an assigned seat, & that she could not break down the $100+ charge to my credit card ~ a line item on the Receipt listed as "Services" (in addition to the Base Fare & Fees), because I "Checked In Online," instead of @ the Counter. She wrote down an 800-number, said "Call this #," dismissed me curtly, & called the next-in-line (1:30 before Departure). Since when are we supposed to wait until we're @ the Airport to book seats, pay for luggage, etc.? & Take whatever is left? & A CSR cannot take 2 minutes to explain "Services" that appear on every Customer's Receipt? Yesterday, April 18, 2019 a friend of mine and I were in the Cancun airport awaiting our nonstop trip home to Kansas City. We received a text notifying us our flight was delayed. We still went to the airport and checked in more than 3 hours in advance of the originally scheduled departure time. They told us at check-in they did not have a gate or an exact time of departure and instructed us to keep an eye on the airport monitors. The only thing the monitor ever said was that the flight was DELAYED and was estimated to depart at 12:50 - once a gate # was finally given we went to the gate more than 30 minutes prior to the 12:50 time and they had already closed the doors and said we were a "no show" even though they had our baggage and made absolutely no public announcements stating that the departure time on the monitors was incorrect. (BTW, we weren't the only passengers to be left behind. There were 6 of us, all ladies, including an infant and friends on the flight said it was less than 30-40% full.) They did nothing to assist us and actually had absolutely no empathy for us. (The stairs were still connected to the plane and the plane had not moved and did not move for quite some time while we were all standing there at the gate trying to wrap our heads around what this airline was doing to us.) Today when we contacted Frontier customer service and asked them to refund us for the hefty fares we had to pay to still get home last night they said tough luck but they hoped to see us on another Frontier flight soon - hah! This is the first time as an adult I have given such a poor rating for a company but Frontier deserves it and I hope this never happens to anyone else going forward. We booked from Memphis to Orlando Florida for a well deserved family vacation. Went through the Frontier website and purchased all the luggage and fees...paid over $1000 for 4. Arrived to see the plane delayed. The departure was supposed to be 6:30pm which puts us at the airport at 4:30pm for baggage. The new departure was 9:05pm...uggg!! That new time puts us into Orlando after midnight after waiting till 8 pm... that's right folks...canceled!! Apparently this happens often with Frontier Airlines. We booked alternate with Airline. Do yourself a favor... pay a little extra and save yourself a motel fee and money for alternate airline and book with someone besides Frontier. read more

This is a discount airline and that's fine. But let it be known you will likely NOT make it to your destination. Delay after delay after delay and your flight is then canceled. Frontier has no partnerships with other airlines and does not have daily flights in and out of most cities in order to re-route you. You'll likely find no motivation or sense of urgency from the ticket agents either. If you enjoy long waits at the airport and interrupted travel plans then this airline is for you. read more

Due to my illness, the only way for me to travel is by air. So, this was my first airplane ride... I was on my first flight ever and on our return flight PDX-DEN (Flight F9 286). A passenger in 20C vomited and spread me. Once we landed, I went to the service desk for assistance and asked for a shirt or anything because I did not want to sit in this woman's vomit until I get back to Memphis. I did not have a carry on, just a check bag. Frontier, was no help. But the worst part was we boarded the same plane on DEN-MEM (Flight F9 800) the vomit that they did not clean up, was still on the same plane. I wish I could get a refund, very unsanitary and discussing. And people was just eating and drinking not knowing the was in the woman's vomit. Gross... read more

This review is based on Memphis ticket counter.... Ok you need to know before you fly you are on a discount airline so there is a charge for everything ....I was prepared for that. I went through my travel agent and she was able to find me a great package deal that included seat and luggage. Ok the ticket counter I like to arrive early so was there 1 1/2 before boarding I was told I was too early they needed another 10 minutes even though they begin checking in 2 hours before flight so I stood over to the side....it was more than 10 minute wait. While I was standing there I saw a few people walk up with issues now I was not involved but the attitude from the counter was just kind of rude from what I heard like they were on some sort of power trip. While standing over to the side not in line out of the way woman behind the counter yells at me we are not ready to board Vegas...I responded with yes I know I am not even in your line. So an hour before boarding they let us check in which was extremely slow they waited until everyone pretty much needed to check in so the wait was long. Once I got to the gate there where at least 4 couples going to Vegas that they let in before us so don't know what was going on there. I only flew this airline for the non stop flight to Vegas but honestly I would think hard about it before going again...its kind of like a trap there are so many fees and rules just make sure you read everything its like they are trying to get you. The plane itself was brand new the staff on board was great only complaint was most uncomfortable seat ever on a plane. They make you hurt and pay for that cheap non stop flight LOL read more

Promote themselves as low cost but it's fake. They nickel and dime you to DEATH. Luggage, carry-ons, drinks/snacks, selecting your seat after the initial base price all cost you more. Their seats are like molded plastic. Not very comfortable. Felt like we were really taken advantage of. Buyer beware and on your toes dealing with this airline. read more

This airline is a rip off, the customer service clerks at the Memphis International Airport are very rude and do not know how to talk to customers. I pay $50.00 to check in a bag that never got on the plane so services were not provided as agree and they refuse to give me a refund instead they gave me credit to be use within 90 days I can not travel within 90 days so they stole my money and never provided the service. The 800 number is a joke no resolution at all. I will never travel on this airline again. The worst experience ever. read more

Very dissatisfied, every flight I've been on with them, which I've been on four, has been at least 1 hour late. Not to mention the fact that they say they are cheap, but if your bag is too big, not necessarily to go at your feet, but for their required size, that'll be an extra $50, and don't even think about getting complementary drinks, or even normally priced drinks. The tray you put things on in front of you is about the size of a large cell phone, so basically useless, and it doesn't stay in place so it just bounces around and makes the same annoying noise over and over. This is the worst airline I have ever encountered on many levels. They won't get me as a passenger again. One star is too high of a rating for them. Every flight has been delayed due to mechanical issues. They are 0-6 on getting me to my destination without issue. They also nickell and dime you to a point you might as well have chosen another airline anyway. Pluses- The agent at the counter was good and helpful. Minuses - I bought the flight on a low priced website. Didn't realize that EVERYTHING is extra, I was charged a LOT for a carry on and a checked bag at the kiosk. I believe you can carry on a purse or small computer bag for free. Everything else, checked bags and carry ons, are a pricey surcharge. If you check your bags online you get a 20% discount, for what is free, or half their price, on most other airlines. If you try to check bags at the counter I assume it is more. Uncomfortable seats, especially if you are over 5'8" or so. Charges for drinks, snacks. Poor website, couldn't add my bags on the phone for return trip. Poor customer service, told to "use a computer, we are having a technical changeover just now." Paid again for the same two bags to go back using laptop as phone app didn't work. Is this the new standard? After all the bag fees, I would have paid the same price for much better service, fewer hassles on a premium airline. I'm going back to Delta! read more

I get the pay for bags and seats and the extras, how about changing my reservation completely. They moved my departure date up a day as well as the return flight. From a direct 3 1/2 hour flight to a connecting 16 hour flight. I didn't approve this change, don't have a hotel reservation for those dates, nor the time off work. They won't do anything as their "policy" is they can change your reservation as long as its within 72 hours of your original reservation. DO NOT FLY WITH FRONTIER read more

Will never use this airline the discounted price is not worth it! My boyfriend and I were attempting to purchase airline tickets via their website and clicked on the wrong flight will not let you delete items in your cart. We called the customer support staff and the first woman had no idea what to do and when we asked to speak to her supervisor argued with us about it and then after a few minutes transferred us to what we now believe was herself pretending to be a supervisor and was even worse!!! Incredibly rude and argumentative, would interrupt you and wouldn't let you speak we eventually just hung up and booked with southwest this has to be the worst service we have ever had! read more

Never again...you pay to carry on your own luggage ($45 per bag), they charge $2.98 for water (other airlines offer as a courtesy), you aren't assigned a seat anywhere near the person you are traveling with. They advertise cheaper rates but once you factor in the charge to carry on your own luggage, there is NO SAVINGS. read more
