I did not choose a seat and had no idea where I would be setting. My seat was a little short on leg room but it was comfortable for my two hour flight. The plane was clean and I felt safe. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were on time and I will fly Allegiant again. read more

My first flight on Allegiant during Covid-19. Direct from LAX to MEM. Airbus 319 no Wi-Fi, no TV screens, not even extra pockets on the seats. That is the essence of the budget airline. My wife and I got to the checkin front desk and the first thing I tell the allegiant employee (Avoynne) is that I have a handgun in my checked bag (I'm a police officer and always carry my handgun, so I'm aware of policy). She states she doesn't need to see the handgun, which I found odd. After she processes us my wife asks if she's sure she doesn't need to see the handgun, and Avoynne once again says no. My wife and I go to security and are in line when I get a call from an unknown number. I answer and it's Avoynne, who states I need to come back to the front desk. I arrive with her standing with a TSA agent. TSA informs me it's policy to declare you have a handgun. I tell TSA I told Avoynne twice and she said she didn't need to see it. When I clearly remind Avoynne of the conversation you can see in her eyes she realized she messed up, but tells my wife and I we must've been speaking to ourselves. At this point Avoynne is giving serious attitude, while being defensive. Once TSA processes my paperwork I ask for Avoynne's name since it wasn't legible on her name tag. She refuses to give me her name and says I can ask a supervisor for it if I want it. I then walk over to her supervisor, Galvyn. Galvyn writes down Avoynne's name and apologizes to my wife and I. I've never had such poor customer service before, nor have I ever been indirectly called a liar. Avoynne's talents would probably be utilized best in a position that does not require customer contact. read more

Absolutely worst airline ever. This is now the 3rd time I have used them as flying out of Memphis doesnt give you a lot of choices. I can say I will never fly with them again. It is always something wrong. This time the luggage came out 1 1/2 hrs after landing and they lost my daughter luggage. Not to mention I had to pay $200 in luggage fees. Nope. Never again. About a week before our return flight from Vegas to Memphis (scheduled for June 28) I received an alert stating Allegiant will cancel all flights surrounding that date. So we had the unfortunate task of finding another airline and spend an additional 200+ dollars for a fliht home on that date. As compensation, they sent us vouchers good up to a year. Flight to Vegas overall wasn't too bad though. Just remember to bring your own snacks. This airline loves to nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING, even water. Allegiant was GREAT! I heard bad things before I took the Allegiant flight, making me fret; however, after making my way to the plane, I knew that what I heard was an exaggeration. Pros: Left on time. Straight flight, no stops. CHEAP! Good service. Literally, the softest landing I have ever had! (Over 30 flights in last two years) Cons: Must pay $2 for drink, but get whole 20oz bottle. Seats do not recline. No movies or wifi (not sure about all flights) Conclusion: Here is the deal... if you are going to complain about Allegiant not being luxurious, stop being a cheap ass and buy a different ticket. Allegiant is a budget-brand airline that is for the sole purpose of getting you from point A to point B. Today, for me, they did this job with 100% accuracy and I could not ask for a thing more. Cancelled flight after I had been dropped off at airport yesterday. Had to pay to go to hotel not for one night but 2 nights due to flight being moved to 8:45 pm. Get to air port and was told I had to pay for baggage when I show him military ID he said not valid cause it was expired. I said on your website it says veterans and active bags fly free. He said your DL don't show veteran so pay for your bags. He was rude from the start. Tell me my service to this country was invalid. I swear I was 15 seconds away from kicking him in his teeth. My wife had to pull me away. Not only was I not compensated for hotel and bump in flight I was told sorry you missed your connector flight and since it wasn't with them that I'll just have to figure it out. Im disputing the charges on my cc. This is bull $h1+. Tell me you honor those who serve and you serve them up a long line of BS lies on why my service was invalid. Tried to tell me he can't tell the dog between civilian ID vs a Military. I said see the rank right there and see me in uniform and how it says my branch of service it is not a civilian DOD ID. Now on a holiday I miss my vacation have to tell my 12 yr old she don't get to see her grand parents in IDAHO cause the airline won't correct their mistake. It's a discount airline. Plan time to fix all that might (and probably will) go wrong. Everything from checking in at gates, scheduling, rescheduling, being charged extra for checked bags, etc. If you can be flexible in your travel and can roll with a few hiccups, you CAN find good deals on this airline. If you're depending on them to meet or match other schedules, go elsewhere. I have tried them 3 or 4 times (one I'm not sure I can count, since they randomly dropped those flights by sending emails and did not reschedule me). I will leave on a positive note. How is there only one flight attendant working? It's bad enough that it's a $50 charge if your bag is over 40lbs. I booked a flight from Memphis to Vegas, along with a bunch of other mothers, back in January to take our daughters to dance nationals. Now, 4 days before departure, Allegiant cancelled our flight without any option to reschedule until the day before we were to return -- 7 days later. I CANNOT RECOMMEND this airline. This Allegiant Airline provides the worse service and do nothing to compensate for their poor delivery of a service. This Airline is shameful. First, Our flight was delayed by more than 4 hours due to the flight staff had to rest. After finally taking off then, this airline landed in another city (not our destination) then left the entire airplane load of passengers stranded in the middle of the night in an airport (which was not our destination) & was not equipped tohandle such a situation. Allegiant Airline made no attempt to communicate with any of the passengers thus no one was apprised of how the situation would be resolved. Many of the passengers had children and were stuck in an unknown location with no information on how or when further travel would be provided, no food or water. I discussed the situation with management and Allegiant refused to compensate me for the travel inconvenience. Personally, I had hotel rooms reserved but was not able to check in due to Allegiant & being stuck in airport in another city with no way to rent a car (all the car rentals in the airport were sold out or closed due to it was the middle of the night) and no way to get to my hotel which was more than 2 hours away. They refused to compensate me for anything. BE ware of Allegiant. Allegiant will sell you a cheap ticket, then WILL ADD ALL types of FEES then will DELAY your flight and will not compensate you for your inconvenience in any way. read more

Thursday, April 4, 2019. Memphis, TN. The employees at the check in and ticket counter were very rude, loud, disrespectful, and had terrible attitudes. The same person who checked my suitcase in, checked my ticket at the gate. She was aware that I had a personal item when I dropped my suitcase off and once I got ready to board the plan she made me pay $50 to carry on my personal item which is a small cloth bag (smaller than a beach bag). I was outraged because the customer service was just horrific and the agent made a comment stating " We not playing about those bags, everyone gone have to pay today". If there was a lower rating than one star then thats what I'd put. These people here at the Memphis Allegiant Airline are the most rude and unhelpful and are not forth coming with information. They won't talk to you. They are like walls. I asked for the manager after a long drawn out wait of pulling teeth trying to get information about why they won't let me and my 6 year old through security to meet my 15 year olds when they get off the plane. They only let one person back to meet. When I asked for the the Supervisor Roger, the other airline "customer service" person said, "I don't know where Roger is." I asked "who is that man over there?" "That's Roger." Seriously lazy. Wouldn't even turn her head to help me or get off her butt to look for a supervisor. Total unacceptable attitude. She covered her Lanyard and told me the Manager was the highest I could go. But the manager wouldn't help me. Not bad for the price when it comes to being constant this isn't their strongest area. The employees are very nonchalant if your flight is delayed or anything that doesn't go right(which happens 99% of the time) they WONT CARE. If you try to be consistent and make them do better 9 times out of 10 they will catch an attitude with you. My latest trip was suppose to be on Monday. This is the second time my Allegiant flight was delayed by several hours. This time my flight from Austin to Memphis was delayed multiple times adding up to 7 hours. Eventually, I get to Memphis and I'm ready to retrieve my luggage, but waited almost two hours for the Allegiant staff to load our luggage to the baggage claim. Allegiant sent a $50 voucher to us passengers to use with their airline for future flights, but why would I book with an airline that doesn't seem organized and doesn't have regular functioning equipment? Such a disappointment because my very first Allegiant experience was fine. I want to support the smaller airlines, but honestly the service and competency just seems inferior to others. I want to be clear that all Allegiant direct service staff were nice, but couldn't do anything for us and rarely had much knowledge of what was going on with the delays.
