Frontier is the only provider of fiber internet service in the town where I live, and the service is great when it works. When it doesn't work, though, I get to experience Frontier customer service. You've heard it's bad, but how bad is it? It's bad, friends! I spent an hour and 14 minutes on the phone once before they would agree to send a technician; the Internet service went down for every Frontier customer in my neighborhood this week, and they kept telling all of us that there was no service outage. When I talked to a customer service representative to report an outage and she told me it would be a week before anyone could come out, I asked if there was any way she could escalate the call. She hung up on me, which was the last bit of encouragement I needed to switch back to Cox for Internet service. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been a subscriber to Frontier for several years since they took over UVERSE,and I gave them chance after chance to make good on their lousy service, but I finally had enough. Their internet service was horrendous. It was consistently dropping. It was unbearable. The speed was minimum too. The DVR didn't record properly, and even if it did the service dropping all the time would have compromised the recording. When I complained about the service, I was told I could cancel, so finally I did, and then they had the nerve to charge me for cancelling, even though their service was not living up to their side of the contract. Customer beware! They do not care about you. They don't understand that cutting off a pissed off customer, will most definitely lose them countless potential new customers. I've been a customer of Frontier on 3 separate occasions. Most recently, I was pretty much forced to get Frontier in my apartment complex due to it being the only provider available. Avoid Frontier at all costs. You'll have billing issues and technical problems FOREVER. All 3 times I was a customer I was never able to get a user ID/password established to access my account. This means that I could never access content online from say FX or AMC to watch shows/movies on demand, and could never pay my bill online. FINALLY canceled my service after 5 months AND THEY EVEN SCREWED THAT UP! "You cancellation request was completed on May 11, but for some reason the person put your last due date as two months out. Frontier taking over AT&T on east coast was the worse thing! Lack of customer service! Reps that do not know what they are talking about and somehow find a way to tag someone else's account to yours, and then they do not know how to fix it or how it happened. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I called twice to set up an appointment for a technician to come out and simply move my Wifi router. When I called to confirm my appointment,I was told BOTH times that no one will be coming out because it was never sent through to dispatch. So I wasted 8 hours (2 days from 8am-12pm) of my time for no one to come out. Their customer service is awful to say it nicely. I was told the second day that someone was supposed to come, that they were coming...so I waited. A couple hours later, after no one arrived, I called and was told that no one would be coming because it was never sent to dispatch AGAIN! This is by far the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with...my internet went down on a Saturday and I spent 2 hours on the phone with them trying to troubleshoot the issue. They finally said they needed to send an tech to my home, which would have been fine except the first available date was FOUR WEEKS away. I work from home as a project manager so having a working internet is critical to keeping me employed! I spent hours with them on a "chat" trying to get them to understand but they were not at all helpful. I was without internet a good part of the week and finally had to switch providers. Now they are trying to stick me with a bill to include days that I did not even have service! I sent certified letters explaining WHY the bill was incorrect. Frontier is a scam artist company, top to bottom. We were told by both the initial rep who set us up, and the installer that we had no contract and we could cancel anytime. When we tried to cancel after one month the customer service rep said: PROVE IT THAT SOMEONE SAID THAT. It's bad enough to obfuscate information, but to purposely tell us wrong information more than once? Every single time we called in to get the technical issue we needed sorted out, we were bounced around. Nobody knew what the process was; it was really pathetic. Many of the other people on the phone were cordial, but the fact that they were not trained on how to actually deal with our issues was just far beyond anything we have ever seen. I called Frontier this morning because I keep losing my internet connection. They told me I would get a call back on July 17th today is July 11th. The connections in my house are fine so the disconnect has to be coming from Frontier. I lose my service two to three times a day and have to turn off the router , wait 10 sec. And turn my router back on. And to make matters worse I cannot even get anybody to talk too. It's time to find another internet service. read more

Shockingly their take over of Verizon on the Western United States has in the last 3 days been a MAJOR FAIL. They have KNOWN FOR MONTHS that they would be taking over all Verizon Customers and yet, nothing but problems. After repeated calls and spending hours on the phone with customer service, it will take five days for then to come & remove the wires. They are still attached to the neighbor's house so we can not move them. They don't want us to drive over them since if them become detached WE will be charged for the damage! Absolute garbage. Go elsewhere! The whole experience with Frontier has been a nightmare. Horrific customer service. Internet speeds which approach dial-up. You call to complain, it gets better for a day or 2, then is back down. I bought a beautiful high-def TV in December and cannot watch Netflix etc. on it because it freezes in 2 minutes. Frontier does not offer faster speeds. Now that I am trying to change providers, they have a block on my numbers. Everyday they say the block is off but then say it isn't or another department says it isn't, and that department is "off line". You can even stop using this service without a lot of hassle. Frontier sucks!!!! The service is terrible. I have to agree with all the other negative reviews! i lose the phone, internet and tv connection all the time!! The tv will freeze up and it says no signal. At the same time, I lose internet and the phone. I will be on the phone with my mom and all of a sudden the connection is lost and so is the cable. This can happen several times during the call. So annoying. Why am I paying $174.18 a month for lousy service??? I think it's time to find another company for my phone, tv and internet!!! read more

I have been a customer with Frontier tv since At&T Uverse Connecticut sold out to them. The have been good but they are expensive. Usually the minor problems I have with them I am able to fix by myself by just rebooting the system. However, I recently was getting recordings on the DVR that I did not program. Willam Novella was the tech that came out today and worked a long time to get my box to work the right way. He is a terrific tech and takes time to explain the equipment. Frontier should keep this guy. Although, the problem still continues it is not a fault on the tech part but with Frontier equipment. It has some bugs to fix. If you ever want a tech to come and help you ask for William he goes above and beyond to get things working. Overall, I like Frontier because they adapted the the same product as AT&T Uverse where the tv guide is easy, the reboot is easy, the speed of switching channel is easy and the picture is much clearer. The only problem I have with Frontier is that they are jacking up the prices all the time and I am on a budget and I might be willing to switch to Dish or something else if the price is right. Also, I have been complaining to Frontier for a long time about their paid for on demand movies. I am a movie goer and when I buy a movie the sound always goes in and out and makes for a poor family viewing of the movie. They have never been able to fix the sound of the paid for on demand movies and that is a problem for me. Also, they recently added REGIONAL SPORTS TAX on the bill. This is nonsense because I have pleaded with them and told them I am not a sports fan why should I pay for sports tax? they said it is on all of their packages even the basic. This is new and this will cause me to want to switch if they don't fix these problems. Also, they only give new customer promotions and when you have been with them long enough you stop getting promos. I used to get a much better deal from UVerse. I only wished they never sold out. I tried a Frontier bundle since they advertised a good rate in central CT. Installation and service were surprisingly good, so we had no technical issues compared to many others reporting in my area. However, they charge fees that are not declared upfront, and seem bogus, such as monthly VOI phone fees in addition to all the regulatory fees and taxes, as well as many unidentifiable extra fees ('broadband processing fees'???), disconnection charges even if on a monthly service (no contract), $120 for 26 min phone calls abroad, 'free' installation with an equipment delivery fee, etc.. When I cleaned out my mother-in-law's apartment, I found Frontier equipment. I tried to get Frontier to tell me how to return it. I called, and when I finally got through to a person, he told me that their rules forbid telling me how to return it since I wasn't the customer. I tried a chat, and that customer service worker told me that he could only send a box to the old address. They wouldn't even give me an address so I could pack it and ship it myself. I can't speak to their pricing or reliability, but their customer service is very weak. I can drop the equipment off at Best Buy to keep it out of landfill. I tried to sign up for DSL - I could cut my bill in half over Comcast. When I finally made clear to the saleswomen that I didn't want a bundle she was rude and short with me and speed-read through all terms and conditions. Then she said something in my ID couldn't be verified so customer service would call back in a day or two and also someone would call in a day or so to set up installation. Flashforward a MONTH and I get a call out of the blue after hearing nothing from Frontier saying that they are showing up in two days to install my internet. I had long since written them off and absolutely was not going to let them install internet after a month of no call/no show. I have never, ever had as bad an interaction with "customer service" as I had with Frontier. 1) They had added a surprise $7.99 internet infrastructure charge to my bill, and I was told I should have been paying that all along and "an audit" had revealed I wasn't. 2) Suddenly, I no longer have access to CBS-New York and was told that a "review" of packages had revealed that it was never included. Complete BS, but in addition, the reps (I called twice because the first guy I talked to was so incredibly rude, 2nd person was equally scripted and even more rude) were so off-putting, the exact opposite of customer service. They were so bad I had to hang up and didn't get to my question about why my internet service drops intermittently during the night. Run, do not walk, away from this miserable service. I was dissatisfied with the service, not even a week. I was apprehensive when I purchased the service because it uses a phone line (bad) and the representative told me it was only 3 megabytes. but he told me that it would be as good as the existing cable, and they could upgrade to 6 megs. It wasn't and they can't. I called and complained. The rep said she would see what they could do and would call me back. She didn't. I called back a few days later, within a week. This time to disconnect the service. I was upset and told the representative that I didn't want to pay anything. i was lied to by the original rep and the second rep and there service was lousy. After a lengthy discussion, she said that my bill would be deleted. That did not happen. I continued to received a bill. Again I called, and this rep also said that my account would be exonerated. Did not happen. continued to receive a bill. This time I used the "contact the office of the President". This is no more than a fraud. I called to get general info on their services and the first rep I talked to didn't seem to know anything she had to put me on hold many times to find out the answers to my questions. The second rep was a bit more helpful although he kept me on the phone for over an hour. He then was supposed to call me back with the final price on the package I requested however I never heard from him. So basically I had a horrible experience before I even started anything. Giving them one star is generous. I signed up with Frontier 3 months ago and it's been a nightmare since day one. The sales person i dealt with told me my monthly bill would be $100 even. I specifically asked him if this included taxes and he said "we calculate our fees with taxes included so the bill will be exactly $100." He also told me they'd waive the installation fee. I agreed and scheduled the installation. About an hour after the installer left, the cable went out. I called customer service and was on the phone troubleshooting for 2 1/2 hours and they still couldn't figure it out. Their conclusion was that the set top box was defective and they'd send me a new one. I asked if it could be expedited and they said no - it would be shipped out the next day and take 3-5 business days to get there. That meant 3-5 business days with no TV - immediately after I subscribed to their service. While I was waiting for a new set top box, I received a bill for almost $200 that included installation and didn't include any of the incentives that he promised. Luckily I had a copy of the order & was able to call and have the bill corrected. At that time I was informed that tax wasn't included in the total bill & never could be due to tax regulations. At this point I was so aggravated that I simply agreed since it was only slightly higher the $100. Four days later I received me new set top box and called to have tech support walk me through the installation. FOUR AND A HALF hours later they realized that the serial number on the new box was never added to my account. Since then I have received two additional bills that have all been incorrect. The first time I called and they adjusted the bill to about $105 which was close to what I expected. Then for the next bill they insisted there was no way they could give me the deal I was promised and that the bill would now be approximately $125. At this point I hung up the phone and called Cablevision to set up an account with them. Needless to say I would never recommend Frontier to anyone. ONE OF THE WORST COMPANIES I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH! I called around looking for a cable company for when me and my boyfriend for our apartment. Frontier sounded like a great option and it was at a good price. They originally scheduled my set up for July 3 since I was scheduled to move in July 1st. They sent someone over on June 28th and the person that dropped everything off left in on the floor in my apartment. I then went to go pay my bill and I had a bunch of other charges on it that I did not sign up for. They were charging me for movie channels, a phone, and a security system. I have reached out 7 times and still got no help or response - I even sent an email to the president of the company/district. Today I finally got to talk to someone that was trying to help me but it really made no sense. I told him that I am calling the Better Business Bureau and he pretty much told me that it would not do anything for me since they just call the company and would have a sales rep contact me to see if I needed any additional help. I am under so much duress because I am not paying the bill until they fix everything. I don't know if they will be shutting it off my cable and it is constantly on the back of my mind because I just want to have this problem fixed so I can close out my account and switch to a company that strives for customer satisfaction. Funny, I always thought a dispute was when 2 people disagreed. Well, we disagree on what was billed, and now Frontier is saying that there is no dispute from their perspective and so they are sending my account to collections. They just mow letting me know I have to pay $50 dollars why wasn't I told this when I call to set up my appointment.
