The owner (Jake) of this business has been incredibly difficult to deal with. I reached out to him for a quote Jan 10th. He came by to assess the job and offer a quote. We agreed to a deal and he said if I could get him the money and property plot to him he would get it to my HOA for approval immediately. I asked for a contract and got him the info/money that day. After not hearing anything for 3 weeks I reached out to Jake and was told that he was held up because of a divorce he was going through. I told him, No problem just communicate with me going forward so I know where we stand. Two weeks go by with no contact. The new excuse was surgery. This process repeats itself until I wrote a scathing review on google and was heading to small claims court to get what was owed. Jake then immediately asked for me to please remove the review. He offered the title to his truck/golf cart. I explained I don't want a truck or golf cart I want a fence or money back. He said he didn't have the money any longer, but would honor it as payment for labor if I would buy the materials he would consider us good on the contract. I waited three weeks with various excuses as to why his lumber connection wasn't coming through. After that he threw in the towel and offered me my money back. That was three weeks ago now. At this point I have to believe he is either a thief or a terrible operator. There are plenty of other options in this town to settle for someone that clearly had little ethical standing in the way they treat paying customers. Off to small claims court we go!! read more

From my experience with them, the no show reviews are right. I booked a estimated a few weeks out for my home. This company no showed with no show or no communication. This fence is an embarrassment to their company. They would not even put the placard with their name on the fence because the workmanship is so bad. They built the fence three times and it still crap. The gate does not work the boards are all cracking and even splinting in many instances. There was no pride in their work and the worse aspect was the FOREMAN WAS DISRESPECTFUL TO US. Over 7,000.00 dollars wasted . The amount of stress it has caused us not to be believed. It's ruined the whole new house feeling. Little did we know that it would be impossible to bring him back to fix his work. He was very unresponsive, when he finally responded, he was very short with my husband, unprofessional and borderline rude. Advice to others: 1. Do not fall a "competitive quote". You get what you pay for. 2. Do not pay him until the work is approved by HOA, otherwise you will never have him come back and bring the work to compliance for free. read more

Unlike a few other fence companies from whom I obtained bids for my shadowbox fence, Frontline takes care of the getting your permit from the town. Jake, the owner, seemed like a nice guy. When he came out to write a bid for us, we discussed my irrigation system - I was concerned about lines getting accidentally cut during the install of the fence, and Jake assured me he "had a truck load of irrigation supplies" and that they would fix it if the lines were accidentally cut. His price was just slightly less than the other two bids I obtained. We are happy with the way the fence looks, although one rather large detail was ignored: I asked for the posts to be an inch or two higher than the rails, exactly like the photo of my neighbors fence I provided Jake and his assistant. Although he said he could build the fence exactly as I requested, he did NOT. Our posts are flush with the top of the fence. I never brought it up, because the fence looks nice enough, but I think when you are spending over $2400 for something it should be to spec. Consider yourself warned. After the fence was installed and Jake was at our house to collect payment, we noticed one of the sprinkler heads was turned backwards and was spraying directly into the fence. He said he would stop by with the particular kind of wrench needed to fix it. Four weeks went by and no one "stopped by". Not only did he never show up, but he and his assistant completely ignored my texts, emails and phone calls asking when they were going to fix what THEY had broken. Next I discovered one of the rotator sprinkler heads was completely on the WRONG side of the fence, spraying the outside of the fence! When I finally got them on the phone and asked them to come out and move it, his office asst. said "it's not our job", and "not every brand new house in Charleston has an irrigated lawn, so how were they supposed to know to move a sprinkler head?". I told her I DID bring up my concerns about irrigation lines during the initial visit, but she kept repeating that it wasn't Frontline's responsibility. When I asked her why they didn't just address it and CHARGE me extra (which I would have certainly paid) to move the sprinkler heads, she continued her mantra, "It's not our job!" and the conversation got heated. I was a bit shocked to have a service company employee raise her voice to me. Customer Service Rating: ZERO. When I went out to dig a trench to move the sprinkler head back INSIDE my fenced yard I discover ANOTHER sprinkler head outside my fenced yard! Now I have THREE separate issues to be repaired. As for the fence install crew, they moved like prisoners-of-war, looked miserable the entire time, and if you spoke to them you were lucky to get a mumbled grunt. It did not surprise me to find out later that they just ignored the sprinklers. That would have taken initiative, of which they clearly have none. We always offer iced tea & sodas to anyone working at our house - and we ALWAYS tip - but these young men got neither. So, despite the fence looking nice enough, it remains to be seen if it is structurally sound and will last. All these negatives have left a huge doubt in my mind of the integrity and honesty of Frontline Fencing. Time will tell. If you DO hire this company, be very sure to turn on your sprinklers and inspect your fence extremely carefully before you hand over any money - That WILL be the last you see of them! read more

There were several different angles and heights to the fence using both vinyl and wood material. And 3 different gates. The crew cleaned after every visit, we are extremely pleased with the results. Received a quote, work was done in a timely fashion, and crew was very nice. Fence looks good. The issue came with payment. We tried to pay the crew when they installed the fence, but told us that they forgot a form, and told us we needed to go to Home Depot to pick it up. Excuse me? You forgot it, you go get it. We mailed them the check, and they said they couldn't do it till we got the form. Here we are, almost a year later, and they just threaten us with a collections company. Called Home Depot to get it sorted out....and their computer was down, transferred me, then hung up on me. JUST TAKE MY MONEY. Update: Day three of the saga continues! After being told from Home Depot that we would need to go to Frontline's business and pay, Frontline is now saying no, go to Home Depot to pay. Save yourself the headache, and the four phone calls required just to give someone money. Lesson learned: Never work with Home Depot again. read more

First, make sure you get a picture of every detail of the fence they will be building you, including the gates. I mistakenly expected my arched gates to look like all the others in my neighborhood, but they looked completely different. When I expressed my concern after they were built, I got a message back, days later, that did not address my concerns at all. All the message basically said was "we did the work, now pay us". After seeing other reviews about how poorly customers are treated if there is a problem after the work is done, I didn't bother to pursue the issue and just went ahead and paid them. I cannot recommend this company, as they care NOTHING about satisfying their customers AFTER the work is done. Satisfaction NOT guaranteed. read more

I called Frontline and set up an estimate to have a fence installed at our new house. We hadn't yet moved in so we show up 30 minutes before the estimate time only to see a note on the front door that said, "We showed up early and you weren't home. We lost your number so please call us to reschedule." First of all, how early did you show up and secondly how do you just leave an appointment like that?! What's even worse is that after I called back to reschedule YOU NEVER RETURNED MY CALL! Luckily I found C&S Fences that did a GREAT job at a very good price. BUYERS BEWARE / WHAT A BUNCH OF AMATEURS Absolutely the worst quality fence ever installed by a so called professional company. Started the installation three weeks after the proposed start date. Used 3/8" pickets instead of the typical 3/4" pickets, which is the standard for every other fence company that quoted our project. Unfortunately we assumed that the 3/4" pickets were the industry standard. As a result, in the summer heat they twist, crack and actually break. Forget about responding for warranty items, all one gets is their voice mail which is obviously screened and ignored unless you are a potential new victim, as a one can only imagine. They do not call back regarding warranty issues. Emails and texts do not work either; so unprofessional. See the other posts which support my statements. I did not choose this jack-leg company for the price, as they were actually priced between the two other quotes that I received. I strongly recommend that anyone considering a fence installation should look any one of the other fence companies in the Charleston area; there are so many that will actually provide a quality product. STOP...Find another contractor. This entire process was a disappointment. Only a year after the original installation from Frontline Fencing we have replaced the fence. The quality was terrible, the materials were of minimum grade. What good is a 1 year warranty if they don't show up for warranty work. quote times are inflexible..maybe cos i'm in N. Chuck and the co. is on James Island..seems only am appts are available tues & thurs, ... I took off work twice in 2 weeks and both appts got canceled..I asked if she was the only one doing quotes and was told another guy was out of town...so 2 weeks after initial call..I still can't get a quote. ...fail...guess i'll have to pay to get a quote from Lowes since it seems most fence installers in Charleston aren't insured. or want cash in lieu of ccard payment...or they just won't show if it's an old fence to deal with and not a big money job. read more

They built me an adequate (at best) fence. Charged me more than they should have. Several of the boards did not get nailed to the cross posts properly, which I have had to go back and fix/finish. Then I called them about three months after the fence was built to tell them that the double gate they installed was not working properly. They wouldn't even come out and look at it without charging me because it was past a 30 day warranty. I have told everyone I know not to use them. read more

Recently had Frontline Fencing install a privacy fence for a rather large yard. Jake came out and did the estimate and I was very pleased by not only the competitive price but his level of professionalism and the fact that customer satisfaction was his top priority. They got me scheduled in a very timely manner. During the install of the fence, James was very pleasant and knowledgeable about matters dealing with the HOA and all regulations pertaining to the fence/property lines/easements/etc. and I was blown away by his craftsmanship and efficiency of how quickly he and his guys installed my fence. I did a walk thru with him upon completion and the fence exceeded my expectations!! There was one small glitch in the gate lock and James came out and fixed it right away. I'm happy to say that I've gotten multiple complements on my fence and have referred anyone who has inquired about it to them. They installed a deck for a friend of mine and he has raved on and on about it so I will be contacting them soon for a deck and pergola install. They definitely have my approval and will have my business. The professionalism, price, quality, and craftsmanship from the guys at Frontline can't be beat.
