It is a denton institution and we live right around the corner so I wanted to try it. The food is good but it may be the filthiest restaurant I've ever been in. I brought my 2 year old in today, thought I would give frosty's another chance and not only was the restaurant filthy, I saw 3 dead water bugs, one on top of a table!!!! This place is great! I have never had the food but as a newbie to town I am already becoming a frequent visitor here. The soft serve is homemade and so is the root beer! Tried this place for the first time the other day and it was pretty good. It was pretty small and there were only about three booths inside and a few more outside. The place has a very retro look and feel to it. I was also pleasantly surprised by all the options on their menu they had quite a bit for such a small joint. I ended up getting the burger with special sauce with some tater tots and chocolate ice cream for dessert. The burger was good and so were the tater tots. I always check Yelp before trying a new place, this place had good reviews so I tried it out; so glad I did. Very cheap, very good, very pleasant, and very clean. I know a lot of "verys" but all true. I had the burger and tots, burger was good, a little heavy on the mustard but other than that very good. A dive kind of place, or another way of saying it, "it has character". This is a not to miss place, but be aware very popular, for a reason, so don't be surprise if the parking lot is full; worth the wait. read more

My boyfriend and I have been coming here since we started college at UNT (3 years ago). One of the best things about this place is that you see the people who own it every time. We love that the owner always recognizes us, you can't buy that kind of personal service. We also LOVE the Gallaga machine (and to a lesser extent, the jukebox), and weeped for its' return while it was being repaired. The homemade root beer here is amazing, and I don't even drink root beer. I always get a peanut butter-chocolate shake and a number 5. Ooh! Be sure to try the onion rings! YUM! read more

What can I say this place is pretty fantastic. Yes, all the reviews mention the root beer, don't ignore that fact. Burgers are very big and filling, only get the half pound if you're really hungry. Ham sandwich is also excellent. Fries could use a little more seasoning, but they also offer tatortots and onion rings. This place is very old school and they treat you well. I came in some time ago with my boyfriend. We weren't sure about what to get other than a rootbeer float, so we asked the man at the front what's good. Somehow he had us convinced we were in the mood for burgers. So we got a large rootbeer float, a large fries to split, and two quarter pound burgers with bacon. First of all, I have to say that the service was lovely. The man who helped us out was really friendly and patient with us newbs, and I totally appreciate that! (I hate feeling rushed when ordering, especially when there isn't a line of any sort) The root beer float- was as amazing as I expected, or even more so. My boyfriend kept talking about how it reminded him of going to A&W to get root beer off the tap, and those memories seem like dreams now that A&W's almost off the map. The burgers didn't drip of grease, the bacon that was with it was fried to a crisp(oh sweet mother of Jesus), and the vegetables tasted and felt fresh. I'm almost always turned off by sour tomatoes and really soggy lettuce at other places, but their burgers are like a piece of art. Their fries had that perfect crunchy and warm ratio that everyone expects but almost never gets. Everything settled well, despite being a meal I would think of as being on the heavy side.
