I lived on Broadway 2 blocks away in 2004-2014 so I took my grandson many times for ice cream here he was 4 when I 1st took him now he will be 25 next month and he is paying for my ice cream! Last night we stopped by this Frosty's, (they have two, another in Depew). At this location, parking in the small lot is limited. It was pretty busy when we went, so we had to park a ways down the side street. But we were planning on taking a walk after ice cream anyway, so no big deal for us. This location is CASH ONLY, so be sure to have some green on you if you come here. There were enough benches and tables to accommodate the crowd, although most were full. Just an FYI that seating may be limited if they are particularly busy. This Frosty's is in a rickety-looking little building with window service. One window is to order, and the other side is for pickup. The menu is a haphazard assortment of boards, and faded printout pages. The window service team was very friendly. I didn't see a sundae I wanted, so just asked if they did a fluffernutter kind of sundae, and the worker kindly pointed me in the right direction. So don't be afraid to ask nicely for what you want if you don't see it in the wonky menu printouts. Frosty's offers several alcohol-infused options. You do need to show ID to purchase these. My husband had the Strawberry Daquiri sundae. It was a very generous size, all dolled up with a drink umbrella on top. My husband said it was very fresh fruit and creamy ice cream. He could definitely taste the booze, too. I took one bite, and it did have a little kick! My Fluffernutter Crunch Sundae was also sizable and delish. The vanilla soft serve was just how I like it, very light and airy, and somehow less cold than typical soft serve. After we ate, we took a stroll around Lancaster. The hubbs was definitely walking a little zig-zaggy, so his ice cream's alcohol content was sufficient. :-P The cash-only payment, lack of parking, and disjointed menu makes this Frosty's not my absolute favorite ice cream stand. But if we're nearby and in the mood for a cold sweet treat, Frosty's still has a lot of delicious offerings that get the job done. read more

Even though I live in the southtowns, Frosty's is my favorite place to stop for ice cream. We always try to swing by when we're in the area during the warmer months. This place is always bumping, too, due to the great location on Broadway in the heart of Lancaster village. They have a HUGE menu, but my favorite part is the amount of non-dairy options! They usually have two non-dairy flavors of ice cream, plus sorbet, and a dole whip. They can also make floats, sundaes, and other goodies with those non-dairy flavors so you're not just stuck with a plain cone. I've had the peanut butter oreo sundae twice in a row and it's fabulous! My only complaint is that it's sooo full of goodies it's hard to eat without dropping some of the toppings- which is a good problem to have. They have a lot of seating and a few umbrellas so you can get out of the sun. Parking can be tight so we usually head for the side street next to the shop to avoid getting into & out of the lot. read more

I wish I knew about this ice cream stand the first time I took my boys to Como Lake Park. Like most ice cream stands, they offer Perry's Hard Ice Cream and probably have one of the largest assortments, but they also have custard and various specialty items. One of my sons had a "baby" cookies 'n cream. It's one big scoop. A small is two scoops, a medium is three, and I think a large is four. My other son had a small dirt and worms sundae with their vanilla custard, oreo cookie crumbles, a few gummy worms and whipped cream. I had a small shark attack sundae with this blue raspberry sauce that hardens into a shell on the outside but also oozes from the inside, gummy sharks and whipped cream. Personally I would have gotten a kick out of a red sauce, but I suppose that would be less enjoyable for the kiddies. All this was under $10. They have a few covered benches and a couple wooden vehicles my boys enjoyed playing in. read more

This is a small ice cream shop in Lancaster. A friend met me here yesterday after work. It was our first time here. We both saw their Facebook advertisement mentioning their new flavors. (The PB & J Twist at the Broadway location and Strawberry Banana Swirl at the George Urban location.) We stopped here because we wanted to try the PB & J twist first. It was peanut butter custard swirled with a strawberry dole whip. We each ordered a small. They were HUGE!!! They were definitely the size of a large and I was so happy about that. Unfortunately, this place is cash only!!! That sign made me sad. I got here first so I mentioned that to my friend who took out cash on the way here for us. (I usually never carry cash on me.) Besides the HUGE (small sized) peanut b & j twists, we also each had some liquor flavored ice cream. I had strawberry daiquiri and it was so good!!! I tried to hit on the cute girl serving me, but I got a Frosty reception. I was like, "are you married", she said "no man. But you can do the job, when you're in... your dreams." So yeah that didn't go well for me. What to get: vanilla frozen custard. I'm a traditionalist, so I only get their regular frozen custard, which is excellent. It's not the best in town (hello Abbott's!) but it's certainly very tasty. Much like my girlfriend. Good things about Frosty's: - excellent vanilla custard - they have an insane selection, like, too much to try in 25 visits. - they are very innovative with the sh** that they come up with. - they are wildly popular so they make tons of crap, so everything is fresh. - they are fairly cheap, especially if you order smalls and baby sizes. - they replaced someone's ice cream after she argued that she got the wrong thing. Bad things about Frosty's: - they use Perry's ice cream instead of homemade, so get the soft serve unless you love Perry's. - some of the servers are not the friendliest, hence the name of the place. - they are closed all winter... which is a long f***ing time around here. - their stuff is way too sweet... especially when you start adding stuff to it. - so much sugar in these products that your face will screw up and you'll become diabetic. - as the other reviews attest, they're not always so good about replacing stuff. - the lines can be very very very long on a warm day, especially in the evening. Skip Dairy Queen, skip Cold Stone (permanently... ew), and come here and give your dessert money to a local place instead. It's delicious and the servers will make you feel tiny if you ask them out. How could you not like frosty's? This is truly a neighborhood ice cream shop. It's a little converted gas station that looks like a gingerbread house - extremely charming. The baby size cone is the perfect dessert size. They have probably a hundred different things to choose from, and I'm able to get two cones for less than $5. All of the people who work there are very friendly and welcoming. My favorite flavor this summer was the honey roasted peanut. It was a sad day when they ran out. I give this place a whole frickin 5 stars!!! (until I get fat) :P This place is nothing short of amazing. You would think soft serve is just soft serve, but they soft serve is special. It's super creamy and tasty! I don't even know how to describe how creamy and velvety the soft serve is. They also have hard ice cream from Perry's, which I am not a huge fan of, but they have so many different flavors here that I am forced to like it. The cannoli ice cream is actually pretty damn good, but not even as close to being as good as their soft serve. The soft and hard ice cream are pretty decently priced. From baby sized one scoop to large size three scoops. The small size is $2.65 for soft and $2.75 for hard. Small size is more than enough for one person. Their sundaes are a bit expensive considering it's just soft serve and not so kosher toppings like gummy worms or something for about $5.25. They also have strange pricing for other things like 50 cents for a waffle cone, but then 50 cents for sprinkles. Huh? Anyway, you can forgo those, just get the damn soft serve! The place is actually pretty cute. It's outdoors so they have different hours depending on the weather so I always call ahead of time. They're super friendly and fast. They have benches with umbrellas outside for you to sit, but they also have like wooden cars and trucks (I think that's what they are?) for little kids to play in while enjoying ice cream! :D read more

We visited last night to try out the cannoli sundae. We definitely were not disappointed! It tasted amazing and was plenty to share between two people. Their menu is a bit disorganized and chaotic, but newcomers just need to take their time and read all the options! I also got a root beer float, with lactose free ice cream- which was really good! Man, I've been falling down on the Yelp job lately. Just not enough food exploring in my life these days. I need to be more like a hobbit, and go on adventures with food at the end of them. Frosty's isn't far from where I live. My husband and I can make a nice evening walk of it. I'm of the opinion that we shouldn't keep ice cream in the freezer anymore, we should only have ice cream if we're willing to take a walk to get it. He's a little less sure but we do like our walks and I like good ice cream. This tiny neo-Tudor dollhouse thingy is on the National Register of Historic Places because it was built in the '30s for a gas station. It's been an ice cream shop for a little over ten years. They have every kind of frozen dairy concoction you could ask for, including soft serve custard, thirty-something flavours of Perry's hard ice cream, milkshakes, "Arctics" (soft serve with mix-ins), ice cream cakes, sundaes, banana splits, and apparently some kind of frozen doggie treat in case you went there with the excuse that your four-legged friend needed some exercise. There's no indoor seating. You get your treat and you sit at a wobbly sticky outdoor table or you take it somewhere else. Wobbly sticky outdoor tables are part of the charm of this kind of place, in my opinion, unless you're allergic to hornets. There's also some playground equipment so your kids can burn off the excess sugar energy. Plan to spend some time relaxing and chatting with one ear open, because there will be a lineup on a hot summer evening and you'll be called up for your order when they get to you in the queue. Warning to other Canadians coming here: get the small version of anything if you plan on finishing it yourself. Seriously.
