Frosty's has been a staple in our family's summers since we moved into the area. My son who just turned 3 has already been to 4 opening days. (That math is crazy) We saw they were opening a couple days due to warm weather and had to get over there to get some ice cream and say hello. It was PACKED! Probably would be less packed now that the weather is cold and snowy again but we waited in line and got our treats. I ended up going with a root beer float this time. This is a nice ice cream shop with lots of options! They also have vegan ice cream that I heard multiple people ordering. I wanted to try the sponge candy sundae and it was massive! It only comes in 1 size and way too much for 1 person so I wish it came in a smaller size too. The richness of the Carmel plus sponge candy just made it a lot to eat. Last time we visited we talked with the owner about some special flavors ice cream he has occasionally. Some might say weird, like pickle ice cream. It's almost the end of ice cream season so we decided for one more stop at Frosty's. They close on October 17! The choices were (of course) limited, but he recommended trying a Maple Bacon Sunday. My out of town friend had never sampled loganberry so on the recommendation of friends we stopped by Frosty's on a VERY HOT AFTERNOON needing to cool down and your LOGANBERRY SHAKE was the perfect answer. This shake shouted BUFFALO with its subtle sweetness (Sometimes Loganberry drinks can be too sweet.) and fruitiness. The top quality ice cream made this a really great shake!! In general, this is a very nice local ice cream stand. Unfortunately, by the end of June and throughout the summer it is run entirely by distracted teenagers. I place the same simple order (2 ingredient Arctic, directly off menu) every time. I've had to increasingly phrase my order in a redundantly more specific way and it is still made wrong 2 out of three visits because they have a sundae with the same name ( thus adding more ingredients that I do not want in my ice cream). Or they leave out one of the only two ingredients it should have. They read my order back correctly while handing me a dessert made incorrectly!! I don't want to waste the food by asking it be remade and I don't want to waste money on what I don't want. The owners need to establish mature management and improve staff training, impressing the need to listen carefully to both the customer and their coworkers. Me and my family visited Frosty ice cream in Depew last evening. I ordered a chocolate malted large made with hard ice cream shake. When I receive my shake, it tasted pretty much like milk, not much ice cream or chocolate or malt in it. When I took it back to the window the young lady said there was nothing she could really do about it and she also refused to throw it away for me and pointed to a trash can around the corner of the store where I can toss it. I ask if I could perhaps have a soft serve cup, she charged me the $3.50 gave it to me and I left. I was very disappointed and of course we will not return to frosty ice cream so sad. The owner of this place is a nice person but he hires kids who think it's party time. We were there on Friday night at 6:30. They didn't care what order the customers orderes came in. I've never been to a worse ice cream shop in my life. I went at around 8:45 to get ice cream with my cousin. We saw on the insta page that they had lime and raspberry dole whip and were thrilled. When we got there they said they didn't have dole whip today and wouldn't let us sample anything bc two people were behind us. My friend met us up there and got a cherry dipped cone and it was chunky and in a dish. They said they were low and then gave us another one (we asked for it in a cone) and it was in a dish. Workers were nasty and rude. The ice cream was terrible and we all threw ours out. Get better service. Well it's taken me awhile to add this well deserved five star review but here it is. We picked up some really yummy treats and brought them all the way home, so the photos truly don't do them justice. But the taste was amazing!!! First let me tell you about the Pina Colada hand made pint of ice cream we brought home. The one with pieces of coconut in every mouthful. The one with just the perfect sweet to alcohol ratio so that you don't want to put it back because it's burning your mouth but just want to keep having another bite and another bite. Each bite you put in your mouth was so much fun, so full of textures and flavors that you almost didn't want to swallow it because the fun would be over. It was that good!!! Then there was the cannoli ice cream sundae with pieces of waffle cone all through it and plenty of cannoli ice cream!! Just delicious!!! Didn't travel that distance well but still was well worth it. I'm told that the blue raspberry slushy was delicious and very refreshing!! The specials that are up on the board aren't on their website menu, so you may be in for a really fun surprise when you get there. I most definitely would stock pile pints of their home made delicious treats in my freezer now that I know what I'm missing!!! I was instantly drawn to the wine ice cream. It's made at Mercer Dairy in Boonville NY (tiny town about 35 miles north of Utica, yes I've actually been there). We bought some to bring home. It was the perfect combination of merlot wine and creamy cherry ice cream. Chatted for a while with Nick, the owner. Super friendly. What a fantastic experience visiting Frostys on George Urban Blvd for Yelp Elite Week was! It was quite busy when we got that but despite that service was quite quick! They were well prepared for the event with a QR code to scan to check into the event and a list to check off with my name. The strawberry daiquiri sundae was loaded with fresh strawberries, coconut flakes, whipped cream and alcoholic daiquiri sauce. It was absolutely delicious! I was so impressed with the taste and presentation of the sundae. It came with an adorable Yelp umbrella and some Yelp sunglasses! My fiance also ordered the cookie monster sundae which was advertised on the sign out front. It was huge and he really enjoyed it. I came here for the first time , because of a Yelp Elite Perk & I'm so glad I did. I brought my 2 sons so we could all enjoy ice cream together. There are so many flavors here, if I wasn't already getting the Strawberry Daiquiri Sundae, I have no idea what I would've finally decided on & how long it would've taken. My older son ,Jeremy got the Raspberry Merlot pint & he wasn't 100% thrilled with it. He said it didn't have much flavor.
