Well, I came here last night and got a baby banana soft serve with chocolate sprinkles, an Easter greeting card, and two six packs of ice cream sandwiches. (One was M&M's and one was Reese's Pieces.) All of that was $31.42. The ice cream sandwiches were the best I've had. The seats were comfortable in here. I'm not sure if they're the same as when I was a kid. Does anything really beat ice cream with loved ones during the summer. I think not. Nick Charlap's is a retro ice cream shop with pink neon signs and homemade chocolates and ice cream. They serve their ice cream in metal and glass dishes and man that just makes their ice cream taste so much better. I got their turtle sundae to split with a friend and it was lovely. I wish there was a little less caramel and a bit more hot fudge. The caramel on the bottom got cold and became very chewy by the end. My grandma got their hot fudge sundae and was a little short of the normal amount that should be given. We went on a Sunday night around 7pm so they were a bit busy so this could be why. The one complaint I have is that our ice cream was served in styrofoam containers and it takes away from the experience. You aren't able to see the layers and since it's all stacked on top of each other the hot fudge makes everything melted instead of the traditional sundae where it's spread out horizontally. I also wish there was more parking here. My grandma has some mobility issues and there wasn't any parking available so I had to drop her off and then find parking in the surrounding areas. read more

It is guaranteed that they have a flavor for everyone. You should make sure to sample a flavor if you're venturing out of the classics. I've been to the Charlap's in Boston quite a few times. Their homemade hard ice cream is second to none. I went to the West Seneca location last night for a sundae. I had mine with whipped cream, hot fudge and chocolate ice cream. I got it to go and the people checking out next to me commented on how good it looked. Which is funny considering it was sitting in a styroform cup. It was the greatest thing I've ever eaten. The chocolate ice cream was rich and delicious. The bottom of the cup was coated in hot fudge then dumped over the top of the ice cream. And I could've eaten an entire bowl of that homemade whipped cream. It was very light and airy. A must stop when you get a serious ice cream hankering mid winter. read more

We always know what we want, soft serve, I love their soft serve ice cream. It's so creamy and doesn't taste at all watered down, like at some other places. But any hoo I usually will get the twist. They do give you big portions of anything you order which is great. The staff is also always courteous and friendly when we arrive and are in there no matter how busy they are. They have packaged ice creams from their regular flavors in a cooler in the front as well as ice cream sandwiches. There is outside seating for warmer weather and plenty of indoor seating as well. Staffed by teens so the service is a little iffy and the lines can be long. We were having dinner around the corner with some friends and passed this on the way determined to check it out after dinner. So glad we stopped! They have a wide assortment of truffles, candies, caramels and chocolates on one side of the case and a true ice cream parlor on the other side.
