Froyo Love has seen better days. My first review of this place was in 2010...and since then, it's had it's ups and downs...but it's in a downturn for sure. The place needs a thorough cleaning. The prices are high per ounce- .68 an ounce. Doubtful I'll return. read more

The person working the counter seemed distracted and like they didn't want to be dealing with us. I've worked customer service for many years and I do think that it goes a long way to just be polite and make people feel welcome. Thoroughly impressed with the flavors and the self serve options at Froyo Love! They are so unique and delicious!! I'm kind of a Froyo snob - hehe! At other places I have frequented in the past, some flavors have a weird after taste, or may even have a funky, grainy, texture. Froyo Love had silky smooth yogurt and the flavors were incredible! I appreciate the fact that they leave out a whole table of sample cups, giving customers the options to try ALL the flavors if you wish to. Not like some of the other stingy places that only let you try two flavors. Lol! This place knows how to do it right! I was so impressed by the unique flavors, I had to ask if they were seasonal. Nice guy at the register told my husband and I that they make some of their signature flavors in house! One of my personal favorites is the pineapple, but truth is, I served myself layers of different toppings and flavors. The toppings all seemed really fresh, and the fruit was perfectly ripe. Nothing kills your Froyo vibe like biting into a sour strawberry. Thank goodness they take high regard to the fruit selection here. It was all reaallly good!! Lastly, the spoons are so neat! Two gals working, no let me reword that, two gals chatting seated behind the register neither that greeted me, expecting a tip. I'm a good tipper but because of this nasty experience I only left 10%. Why would a froyo biz, in a prime location between a university and huge residential neighborhoods, let their shop become so run down? The place is filthy with yogurt splooge running down the walls beneath the machines. There is always at least 1 machine not working while others dispense soft/runny yogurt. It is very disappointing to see how the area surrounding this establishment is coming up and this place seems to be going down. Dear owners - You are surrounded by new development being populated by folks with disposable income. The average price of a single family home within a 3 mile radius is over $1M!!! So many new families with kids filling the new development behind Kaiser. Get with the program. Fix your machines, clean up the space, train your staff, and make money. Visit a Yogurtland location if you need a good example of how to run your biz. I want you to be better. You could have my money at least 2x a week if you get your ish together! I live within walking distance to you and choose to drive all the way to Esco Yogurtland for a far superior product/experience. The 3 star review is not me casting shade in the frozen yogurt itself. Actually the FroYo is good. On multiple occasions now I go in with my wife and you have a college kid sitting behind the register looking all mopey. Meanwhile every countertop is sticky and gross. Pick up a rag and clean up a bit! It's f****ing disgusting. Then you go to checkout and these workers look at you and give you this vibe that you are inconveniencing them. It's a joke. If I was the owner/manager I'd be spending more time training these kids to actually welcome people in. Smile at a customer. Show some energy. First time here and the one takeaway I had was that their flavors are quite nice. My favorite was the oatmeal cookie and the "Italian" tart. Not sure why it's called Italian as apposed to just tart. Chocolate Milkshake was also good. Very nice section of fruit and candy toppings. I always add on a few Circus Animal cookies on my Frozen Yogurt but this time I spoiled myself and included a spoonful of mini m&ms. - I'd come here again for FroYo's unique flavors. - Shop seemed dark from the outside, like it may have been closed. Came in last night after dinner. My husband got pistachio and peanut butter. I got original and pomegranate. They only had 2 sizes which was Large and Super Size. For folks like me, a child size would have worked better. After I got the yogurts, I put them on the scale. A young man came over took the payment and the only thing he muttered were 'you want the receipt?'. I said no and he walked off again. As I was getting napkins and spoons, a young lady walked up to see if I had paid. Clearly no one that works here knows how to say hi or show any respect towards customers. Both myself and my husband couldn't finish the small amount in our cups. They were all overly sweet and lacked flavor. My original was supposed to be tart but there was zero tartness. We used to come here often with our kids & enjoyed it. We didn't enjoy our last few visits, as the young kids working had a bunch of their friends just hanging out there and it didn't feel appropriate with our young kids with what they were talking about etc. I decided to take my kids today, and we were shocked and how disgusting the whole place was! They were out of almost all of their flavors, and the ones that were working were close to liquid in consistency. On top of that, it was visibly so dirty even my kids were grossed out! I don't know how to nicely say it was repulsive, and after we left I questioned if I made a bad decision to let my kids eat the yogurt! Every surface was sticky, each dispenser had the yogurt all over on the bottom, and the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. They had half the toppings available and the other ones were empty with very dirty containers sitting there. The windows were dirty enough that you couldn't see through them...I could go on- I'm surprised that they haven't been closed down due to not meeting cleanliness standards. It's easy to love a dessert place. I mean, when you're filling your bowl with cheesecake flavored froyo and coating the top of it with animal cookies and cookie dough, there's really no reason to pretend otherwise. When we moved into the neighborhood, failing to find a nearby Yogurtland, we were on the prowl for a new go-to place for something sweet. Enter FroYo Love. With a nice selection of base yogurts (including peanut butter and cake batter) and pretty much every topping you could want (from fruity pebbles to fudge brownie chunks), there's no one that can't find something that comes close to their favorite mixed with their second favorite. FroYo Love is delicious, has great pricing, and has pretty much become the go-to spot for rewarding my son for whenever we're proud of him. It's basically a clone of Yogurtland without all the yellow pastels on the walls. The only reason I don't give this place five stars is because they don't have any sort of rewards program that I've become accustomed to at other, similar places. This mainly stems from Froyo Love not being part of a larger franchise, which is nothing against it ... but, man does it suck whenever I look at all of those Yogurtland points I can't use. I freaking LOVE this place! Great selection always changing the flavors up. I like that you can test them and also how the toppings at in a rounded counter in the center of the store. It's easy to get what you want without having to reach over somebody. First of all, the guy running the place was playing games on his phone when we walked in and couldn't care less if he had customers. Secondally, all but three flavors were "not working", including chocolate and vanilla! He told me "tart" was close to vanilla. The pineapple was a light shade of brown and he blamed the non working flavors on customers who don't know how to shut off frozen yogurt dispensers properly. After all this, all 3 frozen yogurts were $16.97. The place was filthy and there was no sample cups and the floors were sticky. Even the trays under the "non working" yogurt dispensers were full of old dispensed frozen yogurt. Let's just say we will never be back. What a shame. read more

I'm glad we reconnected and have the same passion for froyo! After a power walk around the CSU track and a personal tour of the campus, we decided to head over to FroYo to chit chat more on good times. Jr SWEARS by the oatmeal cookie, but I deferred to the Chocolate Milk Shake, Peanut Butter and Cookies and Creme. I topped it off with Oreo cookies, caramel and hot fudge. I don't recall how much it is per oz but the last time I visited it was .39. This is prob the best froyo you can get in the North County area. I'm pretty biased on my YL, so don't try to change my mind!!! Our froyos came to a little over $5, and it was a nice treat after a brisk walk. There is a carousel of toppings and sitting areas inside and out. A definite plus for staying open until midnight for the summer months. Friendly employees and you're able to sample all the flavors. I've been looking for a yogurt place in northern SD since my dad lives around here. This place is absolutely delicious!! Hands down the best yogurt I've had in SD and trust me I'm a frozen yogurt connoisseur. I usually sample out the new flavor they have each time I visit but I always go back to my usual; plain tart and chocolate milk shake. The plain tart is always perfect here. Nice firm tangy sweet and refreshing taste. The chocolate milk shake was a little off. My fiancée tried again the mango and pomegranate tart yogurt (were awesome the first time). But as the flavors were coming out of the machine they were runny and mushy. She said she didn't like it and wish it was like the first time. Update: 4 stars for the meantime. read more

Who doesn't love Fro-Yo? This is our go-to spot for nights after eating out. Their toppings are always fresh and they rotate flavors so there is always something new and yummy. My favorite flavors by far are the Taro and Peanut Butter. They also have color changing spoons which I think are cool. In the store, they play good movies so if you want to hang out on their couches while enjoying your fro-yo you can. They also always have sample cups out so you can try a flavor before adding to your final bowl. Overall, it is always a good experience when we go! read more

Normally not being welcomed or acknowledged never bothers me but when they welcome and acknowledge the next couple that came in.. that is what bugs me. Fully greeted and asked how they next couple was doing. I don't know if it's because of the age difference in couples that he wanted to acknowledge the older elderly people instead of younger. Regardless, I think that was very unprofessional when a customer is a customer. If they are going to be welcoming and acknowledging people coming in, they shouldn't pick and choose who to greet and acknowledge. Unbelievable. read more
