Staff was incredibly rude and negligent. Thai tea is super powdery and heavy in the stomach. Staff was too busy texting on their phone to accurately measure out powders to make the milk teas. On my day trip to Charlotte, I was taken to dinner on the boardwalk and we stopped by here for dessert. My friends and I were craving for some froyo so this was conveniently located just a couple shops down from Billy's. Upon entering, it seemed pretty busy. I thought prom had just finished or something judging from all the 15-18 year old looking kids that were standing around in the shop wondering how the concept of froyo worked. It was interesting to see but it was really crowded really fast and those kids would not move aside to let you through until you said something to them. The froyo itself was decent. Not the best in my opinion. I had the mango and the coconut flavored froyo which was refreshing at least but it was a tad sweet for a fruity flavor. I thought the topping options was decent, the fresh fruits were cut in larger chunks compared to what I am used to seeing and none were browning which is always a plus. But other condiments seemed to be depleting without any help for replenishing. The mochi that was there was hard and didn't seem appealing, the boba was normal as expected but they don't provide syrups that I'm used to seeing. I don't know how many people actually worked there but the owner was both ringing customers up while talking to two other individuals next to her. Maybe it was just really busy or she runs the store by her self. I'd give the place a 3 for effort. It's not a chain (at least I don't believe it to be) and half way decent, could have more flavors and variety but overall, if you are here and need a froyo fix, it'll get the job done. read more

It is my GO TO for boba. Let me just start off by saying the owners are so sweet and nice. There was a time I came in to order a few boba teas to go, and I'm telling you I had a tray of like 3-4 teas and I ended up dropping them ALL OVER the counter and floor and of course, they all busted. They didn't hesitate to make me new drinks; they actually started making it right away when they saw that I had dropped my drinks. I was attempting to clean it and they kept telling me that it was ok, they would get it. I made sure to tip a little extra just because of this. It's a great place and I've always felt welcomed here. Only a couple times have I ventured up to the University area since I've lived in Charlotte. After dinner, I was looking for a great place to get some dessert. We decided to come to Fuiticup, which is located in an adorable shopping plaza. I was not disappointed. It's pretty much a given that I would love a build-your-own-sundae place, especially since they offered fro-yo. I love love LOVE that you can also get bubble tea and coffee drinks here as well. I built a sundae with their cheesecake yogurt, which didn't taste particularly cheescakey (perhaps because of the toppings on it), but it was still good. I mixed in some of the boba with my dessert - holy cow, it's like a party in your mouth!! If you build a sundae, I think it's like $.42 an ounce, which is fairly reasonable. They offer a multitude of fruit and candy toppings for your dessert. Next time I come back, I think I'll try the bubble tea. read more

We had dinner at Boardwalk Billy's and decided to stop by Fruiticup for something sweet. I was pretty excited because I haven't had Froyo in a while. They have boba tea as well. Sadly, I was told that it is made out of powder :( They had a good variety of flavors as far as yogurt. It is self-serve so you grab a bowl, pick your flavors, add toppings and weigh. I got coconut and mango yogurt. I was INCREDIBLY disappointed when I went to add toppings. My favorite topping, mochi balls, were dry and hard. Luckily the fruits were fresh. YES! I finally found bubble tea in Charlotte! Mind you, I literally used to have bubble tea at least every other day while living in NYC where you could find a bubble tea shop on every corner in Flushing, and one my biggest gripes has been not being able to find bubble tea in Charlotte. And lo and behold, I stumbled on Fruiticup without even looking for it! I was beyond ecstatic and marched myself in to get myself some boba. Unfortunately, it did not meet all my boba dreams. Their selection was pretty limited and all milk versions of tea and I tend to like the straight up tea with fruit infused in, but I went for a thai iced tea with boba since I was determined to not leave without trying it. Luckily, the thai tea I got made the cut and the boba was actually nicely cooked which a lot of bubble tea places don't get right. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was also really friendly and so I would definitely come back if I were in the area, but wouldn't take the 25 minute drive out of my way to get there. The yogurt is tasty, but there are a few problems. 1) it's not frozen cold/hard enough so it comes out melty right from the start. 2) the owner is pretty stingy with the samples (which I totally understand), so he has to pour the samples himself. That means a wait if he's making smoothies or doing anything else. One other nit... Please provide the cup dividers so I can get 3 types of yogurt without them running together. Salted caramel and tart blueberry do not mix well. The alternative will be for me to use 3 separate cups, and that will not be cost effective for the owners. read more

The location of the business is great although parking can be a challenge when a couple of the adjacent businesses have student promotions. The place is impeccably clean, toppings very appealing as appears owners are anal about keeping place neat & fresh looking. The French coffee is great, especially when you need a picker up in the morning- the good news I found is it lasted past the morning while the flavor is toxically delicious. This place has pretty good frozen yogurt I love their coconut flavor and strawberry frozen yogurt, they also have bubble tea which was okay not the best. I like their chai tea and if you get bubble tea make sure you get the slushy because there regular bubble tea taste terrible. Don't know how they make it but it's tasted like water down slushy added ice. We ask bubble milk tea they gave tea water down tastes terrible and the girl working there told us that's how they always made it and I head bubble tea here before and ask for non slushy always got it. I've visited Fruiticup a few times since it opened this spring. I am not a big yogurt eater, but on a warm day, a serving or two can be refreshing. This evening, I took my visiting six-year-old sister there for a treat as part of a fun walk around the neighborhood. Her yogurt-related tastes are quite simple: vanilla with M&Ms on top. After filling the bottom of her cup with the preferred flavor, I allowed her to select the topping. Assuming the first container filled with colorful candies was M&Ms, she scooped them into her cup. Soon thereafter, she realized her mistake. Immediately, I asked the onlooking male proprietor, if I could get another cup for her. He replied: "I cannot resell it", so basically no. Stunned, I informed him that the mix up was made by a child. His response remained steadfast and money driven. I was perplexed by his rationale. Sensing how annoyed I was (I imagine), he discounted the total by 10%. Gee thanks. Stellar service is not optional these days, especially for a fledgling business. How easy it would have been to act in a customer-friendly manner, even if proffered with the caveat of it being a one-time courtesy. Instead, he balked to avoid an implied financial ruin. Patronizing (most) businesses is optional for consumers; sadly, Mr. Fruiticup hasn't comprehended this reality. I left with a bad taste that my yogurt mix couldn't ameliorate. In hindsight, I should have abandoned both cups. I will not return. Pink Spoon is closer to my dwelling anyway. read more

I Like fruiticup because of its location and so so frozen yogurt. But mainly the location! Two things I dislike is that there is a minimum charge to use debit/credit. Also to use the bathroom you need to ask for a key. Which makes it really inconvenient when their busy and your standing there for 5 minutes for them to give you the key. read more

I'm picky about Bubble Tea. I've had it all over the nation, so when I came to Charlotte for my birthday, I wanted a good experience. I wasn't disappointed. I was so excited that they had lactose intolerant options -- Boba without the milk. Many places sadly do not offer it that way, but I had the joy of getting a delicious mango boba. I got the taro flavor and while it was good, I could taste some of the powder and it was off putting and I didn't like the texture. The tapioca pearls were soft enough but they didn't taste sweet at all. They tasted like they were soaked in water and no sugar.
