Love me some Jeni's! We need one in Mableton & Smyrna, GA I get the BROWN BUTTER ALMOND BRITTLE with the waffle cone! Masterpiece. Jeni's can do no wrong Service was prompt. After a great dinner at Hawker's, it was a no brainer to drop into Jeni's right across the courtyard. With big windows and a bright vintage style sign, it draws you in, and the smells hit you before you even open the door. They have a fairly big selection, and I landed on the Brown Butter Almond Brittle ice cream. They measure in half size scoops, so two scoops is what would be one scoop at many other ice cream shops. I got mine in a waffle bowl which they make in the shop. It had a great sweet flavor, though the bowl was a bit on the soggy side. Of course the ice cream was good, though I felt it was expensive for what you got. One scoop in a waffle bowl was $8.79. I'd have it again if I'm nearby, but not going to go out of my way.
The place was packed. But what can you expect when the ice cream is so delicious. I love this ice cream and clearly so do others. The line was out of the store. And the shop is pretty small in the inside but there is stool seating near the window. It was very loud because it was busy but the staff was super kind, patient, and helpful.
Best part is there's some many flavors to choose from and most of them were Gluten free which it was a PLUS!! We sample a few flavors and we end up deciding to get their Gooey Butter cake [Cream cheese ice cream layered with crumbles of vanilla cake and a swirl of caramel-butterscotch sauce] & Apple crumble cake
The ice cream is pretty good. Not anything super crazy but solid ice cream. I really like how you can try up to 4 different flavors in your bowl or cone. I also like that they have seasonal flavors to mix up the menu. This location in South End is great. It does get crowded but the line moves decently quick. There is a good amount of outdoor seating and it is in a cute area. The employees were nice but it's an ice cream shop so you don't have much interaction with them.
Friends and I walked to this place after dinner.The smell of fresh made waffle cones is INSANE!!! I was extremely full from dinner but my friends convinced me that I had to try something. Of course, I gave in lol . I ordered the lemon bar and wildberry lavender. Now, the small sample of my order that I did taste while there was amazing but my stomach was at capacity so I brought my ice cream home and can't wait to dive in it. We didn't have to wait long at all, but as we were leaving there were soooooo many people in line!!! It's worth the wait in my opinion and I'm assuming by the line so did everyone else.
Phenomenal flavor options! Be sure to sample them because there are so many incredible choices! I LOVE their creativity in coming up with novel flavors that just simply aren't offered anywhere else. Their boldness and innovation is never disappointing. Even their sweet potato fall flavor was delicious!! (I know, it sounds gross but trust me) If you go in the evening or during the summer, expect a wait here but the line moves quickly. I recommend coming during the day and you'll move quickly through. The store is very small so you can't eat inside usually and you'll be waiting outside for most of the time which kinda stinks when trying to choose a flavor. But the inside is adorable and kept very clean once you make it inside. Good amount of seating options outside after you order. I appreciate the barstools they have immediately outside since the tables usually are full

This ice shop located on the East End of Charlotte offers a nice variety of creamy desserts. They offer so many unique choices and flavors. They also have freshly made waffle cones. I had the Dairy-free Lemon Bar in a cup, standard $6.50. It was very refreshing and delicious.

Delicious and creative ice cream flavors! I got the brambleberry crisp (i.e. oven-toasted oat streusel and a sweet-tart brambleberry jam of blackberries and blackcurrants layered throughout vanilla ice cream), brown butter almond brittle (i.e. brown-butter-almond candy crushed into buttercream ice cream), and gooey butter cake (i.e. cream cheese ice cream layered with crumbles of soft vanilla cake and swirls of made-from-scratch caramel-butterscotch sauce) in a waffle bowl. These three flavors are some of the most popular choices and made an excellent combination that was creamy, sweet, and rich. You're able to sample different flavors, and I like how they explained in detail what each flavor contains. Macy and all the workers had a great attitude, and it's cool how they make the waffle cones and bowls fresh in front of you. It makes the whole store and neighborhood smell so good.
I usually never like dark chocolate ice creams at most places because they're still so sweet but this darkest chocolate scoop was seriously one of my favorites. I like the rum scoop as well because it's like an orangey chocolate, which reminds me of those orange chocolate candies. The flavors surprisingly go so well together. The sugar cone tasted like it was seasoned??? It just seemed like it wasn't a regular overly sweet sugar cone but I have no complaints because I loved it. The line gets really long sometimes because only a few people can get in at a time and people sample the flavors. This particular location is great because there's outdoor seating and all of the stores around it make it a great spot to get dessert. The service we got was so good. The girl who took our order and gave us samples was so sweet and took her time. *EDIT* Regarding all the long line comments, the workers inside did not rush us at all for trying the different flavors so I get why the line is long.
I clearly LOVE Jeni's, they never miss in my book! But this review is dedicated to the amazing employees at the South End location for actually being open until Midnight on Sunday night, as advertised. My boyfriend and I got a mean sweet tooth at 11:45PM on Sunday night and I was like " who's gonna be open this late on a Sunday?". Lo and behold, good old Jeni's was listed as open until midnight.... But we ALL know how some businesses say they're open until a certain time but close early if it's slow, etc. I thought for SURE Jeni's would be closed at 11:45pm on a Sunday. But when we got there it was open and the person behind the counter was ready and happy to serve us. That allow is so so appreciated! Cannot thank them enough for satisfying two big kids with a late night sweet tooth. I had the seasonal Sweet potato marshmallow brulee and it's sooooooooo good! The perfect fall flavor and I'm definitely going back for more! Jeni's you remain the GOAT!

Decent ice cream spot in South End that always has a line, no fail... they're definitely on the creamier / dairy-heavy side, and the ice cream does melt very quickly so keep that in mind - wish it wasn't as liquidy. 5 stars, always and forever I've been a long time fan of Jeni's and it is easily my favorite ice cream shop around. No matter how many new places pop up, nothing ever compares to the quality and creativity they bring to every single scoop. You can always taste the difference. The flavors are always so thoughtfully done, from the classics to the more unique combinations they come out with season by season. It's the kind of place where you end up trying something new every time and somehow it becomes your new favorite. The South End location is such a great spot too. They have seating both inside and outside which makes it perfect whether you want to sit and enjoy a sunny day or just take a quick break while you're out walking around. It always feels like a little reset in the middle of the day. And the team there truly makes the experience. Every time I go in, they are so kind, patient, and so beyond helpful when you're deciding between flavors which is not easy to do. A ton of different flavors and every flavor tastes exactly what you think it would taste like. They do a great job with seasonal flavors. I was not a fan of the pumpkin seed rye however it did taste like a loaf of rye bread. The service was fair, she didn't seem like she wanted to be there but still gave us different sample recommendations. The place is very clean and love that there is water set out. The birthday cake was by far the best with sprinkles and big cake pieces in it. Love every Jeni's locations, always great ice cream! read more

Very nice ice cream parlor over in South End. It's a free-standing store with seating inside or out on a nice patio. While a free-standing building, it is surrounded by a score of retail shops. This is a gentrifying area with a lot of kitschy stores, and a number of apartments being built. Parking can be a problem but the whole South End is really going to be something. They offer a score of flavors, many with wacky names. The ice cream was very good, but just didn't have that super premium mouth feel I look for. A bit pricey at $6.25 in the smallest serving size, but their fresh-made waffle cones standout. Recommended read more
I love this South End Jeni's location! They have a large array of flavors and the menu is constantly changing with new flavors and themed creations. This time I grabbed two fruity flavors with a single scoop of the lemon bar and the lavender. I usually am a big chocolate gal but I wanted to venture out to try two new flavors. I was very happy with the lightness of the lavender and the crunch in the dairy free, lemon bar flavor. Overall, I love the outdoor seating and lively environment of this space. It's the perfect spot with many other dinner and drink locations nearby so I'm sure it gets tons of foot traffic. Only downfall (at most Charlotte residents know) is parking in South End and the longer wait times in the evenings/on the weekends, but otherwise a great spot that I'm sure will stay in South End for awhile. read more
I discovered this cute little ice cream parlor in search of a place that was safe for my kids to enjoy ice cream outside without the fear of them running out into traffic. We moved from Florida, where we knew more ice cream places that are kid friendly. In Charlotte the only place I really knew and like is Dairy Queen however that location is located on one of the busiest roads, Wilkinson Blvd, and they have no guard rails or fence. Jeni's is located in South End and surrounding by other restaurants and shops. Lots of pedestrians so cars aren't flying through the streets. Jeni's also have picnic tables located on the opposite side farthest away from the street along with outside bar seating. They offer many unique flavors of ice cream but I do wish they offered the more generic flavors; like plain vanilla, strawberry, cookies and crème. On the flip side, they serve each order with a waffle wedge. The aroma from the waffle pan making the waffle cones, cups and wedges is most pleasant and it fills the entire plaza atmosphere. They are quite popular and the line is always out the door!! read more
Always love stopping by the Jeni's for their special event flavors! Got to visit for Olivia Rodrigo and before the eclipse. Love the creativity with the flavors and the fun decor on those days. It's something cute to look forward to. There's always a long line outside the door especially during the weekend/evenings. This location is super busy, as it's centrally located in South End. The staff are usually able to accommodate the crowd. I will say the last time I was there the AC must have been out or one of the staff members seemed to be flustered with the crowd. Other than the occasional flustered service, definitely worth a visit. read more
Dairy Free & Gluten Free options that actually taste AMAZING !!! You heard that correctly! Jeni's has a bunch of Dairy Free & Gluten Free ice cream that are yummy, flavorful and delicious! The only thing impacting my experience was the line! Some improvements in flow of the line are for sure needed. It took about 45 mins to be served. Once inside there were only 2 employees. The staff was amazing and knew a ton about the products however the wait for ice cream was just insane. read more

Walked in when there was no line after 9 at night. Had our 4 month old puppy with us. She is also an ESA. The girl looked at us and said dogs are not allowed in the store. I said What an ESA? And she said again we don't allow dogs in the store! My husband just said whatever and took her out. I also left because I don't believe in giving my money to places that treat people and their pets poorly. I live in South End and have seen 100's of dogs in line with their owners to go into Jeni's. We weren't sitting inside just getting ice cream to leave. Guess you should change your features on Yelp as well. What a terrible spot. read more
How can you not give Jenni's a 5-star review? This particular one is as awesome as the one I have been to. The flavors are amazing, the service is great and the vibe is always cool! The location in South End, which is in one of the trendiest areas in Charlotte. There is street parking and some paid parking garages within walking distance. Overall, 100% recommended. read more
When it comes to my picks for the best ice cream in the Queen City, Jeni's Ice Creams is in my TOP THREE. I typically visit the Camden Rd location and while the line is long most of the time, it moves fast. The staff has always been welcoming and inviting, which aids the overall experience. The location is surrounded by other great eating places, so it's a convenient stop for dessert. The Lynx light rail stops approximately 2 minutes (walking time) from the shop, so utilize this method of transportation as parking is not the best in this area. Here are the yummy flavors I've tried and recommend: Golden Nectar- yellow sweet cream made with spices--vanilla, clove, bits of nectar and toffee candy. - Irresistibly delicious. Gooey Butter Cake -cream cheese ice cream layered with crumbles of vanilla cake & swirls of caramel -butterscotch sauce - This flavor is creamy goodness! My second favorite Jeni's flavor of all time. Honey Vanilla Bean - a smooth mix of vanilla and honey - INCREDIBLE. Nectar Honeycomb - Goodness in a cup. Rainbow Buttermilk Frozen Yogurt - A perfect blend of three yogurts made with real fruit: raspberry, key lime, and passion fruit. - I loved this flavor at the first bite. ABSOLUTELY DIVINE. Rocket Pop - the taste is electrifying - try it and you'll understand why I used this word. Salted Caramel - the perfect mix of salty and sweet Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks- salted and roasted ground peanuts with chocolate flecks. Strawberry Buttermilk - a classic flavor. White Chocolate Macadamia Nut - a perfect chocolatey and nutty mix. Wildberry Lavender- intensely fruity, brambly berry ice cream with a pop of sweet orange and lavender. This is my absolute favorite flavor and is mandatory for me at all future visits. read more

Nice ice cream shop. Order at the counter and then there's a counter inside to eat or tables out. Service is quick considering the long lines. I wish they had a few of the more standard flavors for kids or picky eaters. The flavors we had were very good but it was a little difficult to find some thing for our kid. read more

Showed up Friday at 10pm and there was a line of about 20 people. Honestly, so worth it & lien moved relatively fast. Some of the absolute best Ice cream I've had. They even make their cones fresh in front of you! Don't skip out on this place. read more
A few weeks ago my family and I visited the Jeni's location downtown. We've been there many times and always have a great experience. It's in a prime location with several eateries, a parking garage, and wall art murals for IG photo opps within walking distance of it. Great service and delicious ice cream! read more
I had to come see what the hype was about. I definitely need to try again. I had like a rainbow sorbet. Very good bur i definitely want to try some real ice cream on a waffle bowl. I sampled a few flavors which were tasty. Service was a lil slow but only one person was serving the guest. For a popular place like this you would think more. Overall 4 stars! read more

Stopped in for a sweet treat. I had the bramble and the sweet potato marshmallow, and they were both yummy. It made for the perfect fall dessert. I live the patient staff. I sampled at least 7 flavors before choosing 2. If the smell doesn't get you, the flavors surely will. read more
