Good ice cream spot in a busy area. Parking can be tricky . We got 3 different scoops, couple in waffle cones and enjoyed them. They were bigger than we expected which is nice considering how much ice cream is these days. Nothing fancy inside, but they do have outside seating too. The area needs some cleaning up as it's old and they could use a renovation. Ice cream was good though, coconut , salted caramel truffle and gooey butter cake were all good. Good ice cream but not the cleanest floors. It has been years since I've been here so was excited to bring visitors to check it back out. It's a busy spot but they get you in and out fairly quickly. I got a sundae with caramel and brownie and it was very yummy. We also got an orangecicle milkshake and a fruity pebble milkshake. The items seem.very fresh and they mix it up in house which is nice. The cashier who helped us was very patient as I asked questions which I really appreciated. I have been coming to 90s dessert bar for over 15 years! The ice cream never disappoints it was so busy on Juneteenth that the line was hanging out out of the building, but the employees were working hard to satisfy every order. I had a double scoop of banana pudding and butter, pecan ice cream and my best friend had a cookie dough waffle cone. Stopped in here on Sunday for the first time and tried a scoop of cookie dough ice cream. One scoop was five and some change a bit pricey but not going to complain too much. My only complaint is the placing a little dirty, but I understand it's an ice cream parlor so it may be hard to maintain. I received my ice cream at a decent time took about 5 to 10 minutes. We had great expectations coming to this ice cream establishment... we had heard it was fantastic. It turned out to be pretty awful. The staff weren't remotely friendly, the ice cream had very stale candy on top. But the kicker for me was the dirty level all around. The main area felt dirty and I cleaned but the tiny bugs (size of fruit flies) that swarmed and got into my ice cream, and nearly filled the bathroom (which had zero soap to be found)...just set it over the edge and we got out of there as fast as we could. The staff was pleasant enough but at least one had obvious ice cream all over the underside of the sleeves of his oversized hoodie. Whose ice cream got a nice smear of whatever else he drug his arms through? The ice cream was meh at best. I got the Niner (named for the UNC Charlotte Niners). we went here on a saturday right when they opened at 12! i was hesitant bc i had read some things that mentioned they gave small portions and the staff was rude but i thought it was the complete opposite! the portions were large! and yes they averaged around $7-9 but you're at a specialty ice cream spot! so i thought it was reasonable. If I lived here, I could totally see myself being a regular in the summer. I also would have totally loved to try that Apple Pie milkshake. The line was outside the door but moved at a good pace. The menu was great. I like to see what I'm ordering before I place my order. I usually look for the sanitation rating it was no where to be found at the front. So I thought surely I'll see it when I pick up my order at the end of the counter. Nope! The inside is a MESS! You really don't see it until you receive your order and try to take a seat. Every table is dirty. There is a sign stating let us know if a table needs cleaning. You the staff should know when you see a customer leave. There are wipes at the counter for the customers to use for cleaning the tables. Oh boy did I enjoy this milkshake. It might be the middle of winter, but who cares? I love that there are seasonal flavors. I got the Christmas cookie, and it was spot on. Earlier tonight, we arrived to the store around 9.45 pm. There was a long line and we were the last in line. We waited in line for almost 10 minutes before one of the workers yelled out that they are closed and won't be serving anyone standing behind the man with the red hat. We were upset about this because the door was not locked and we entered before closing time and we were already in line for a few minutes before she made this announcement. So we remained in line until it was our turn. When we reach the counter, we had a discussion with the three staff standing near the register. The young woman (Caucasian with dark hair) - a staff member - tried to tell us that we can't place our orders but I told her that we arrived 10 minutes before closing, and we didn't hear the announcement about the guy in the red hat until about 10 minutes later. Finally, the nice staff member named Eric agreed to take our orders. Which was the right thing to do. Sadly, after Eric kindly took our orders, the other two female staff members berated him loudly and insulted him in front of all waiting customers. It was very awkward for everyone in the store. Simply because he took everyone's order who arrived before the 10 pm closing. Eric did the right thing. He didn't deserve to be yelled at by the other two staff. It seemed like there was no management at the store. Overall, we had a horrible customer experience, even though Erik did the right thing. Please explain to all staff that every customer should be served if they arrive before closing time. And if they don't want customers to come in, they should lock the door. read more

Hair found in milkshake. I have been coming here for years and have watched how the service has gone downhill. This place used to be so lively. Workers made it feel very welcoming but these young girls I saw yesterday seem like they hate their job. This place makes a solid milkshake, and has nostalgia inducing decor if you're a 90s kid like me(everything from Johnny Bravo to Pokemon). I split a drumstick shake with my wife, and it was reasonably good, especially for $6(before tax). There were a ton of waffle cone and I think peanut butter chunks mixed in, which was nice! However the actual I've cream tasted a bit more like a Wendy's frosty with syrup than a true ice cream shake, but all in all pretty decent. My dunkaroo shake (oh yeah I had dunkaroos in my lunchbox as a kid) was great in theory but the frosting kept getting stuck in my straw. It was not blended as well. It wasn't smooth. The shakes my kids ordered were just "okay" according to them. The Biscoff Latte was an unsweetened bitter coffee drink and not good. This place is in need of a serious cleaning and refresh. The shared (M/W) bathroom was not in the best condition. The flow is off.
