We almost never have this issue when buying directly from farmers' markets, so I'm convinced there's something wrong with how they store and handle their produce. Other reviews mention the same thing. They also replaced locally grown cilantro with cilantro grown in Mexico, without any note or explanation. Getting fresh, locally sourced food is literally the only reason we order from them. We had an order that was supposed to be delivered on Thanksgiving morning (that's what it said on their newsletter), but it arrived on Friday instead. When we contacted customer service, they gave defensive response that three minutes after we placed the order, the system updated to the "correct" delivery date, even though their newsletter said they don't deliver on that date. The response didn't actually address the lack of clarity about the delivery date. They even once included a slip of paper with someone else's name, phone number, and address. We're done with this place.

It's almost as if Duane doesn't like children unless they're his grandkids, and or maybe the staff mean mugs different races. The way they speak and look at white men is way different than how they talk to us. They watch and shake their head at my daughter even though we are having fun naming the different veggies, they allow white customers to cut us as we are standing very clearly ready to pay. I always buy a variety of overpriced items from pizza to plants to fruits, and yet my purchases feel unappreciated. I love to support local small business. Again, I'll only return if i really don't feel like getting in the car... I wish Duane's was a proud neighborhood gem for me but they just aren't.

Frozen goods, small selection of fresh veggies and a fresh meat department. And if that's enough they have a hot food bar. So many fried options, prepared banh mos, egg rolls, steamed buns, and standard Filipino food like dinuguan, pancit, kare kare and more. The food was solid. I wasn't a fan of the dinuguan due to my flavor preference. We did enjoy the bbq sticks. And my man loved the freshly fried chicken skins here. But on our last visit, our food had "friends" or additional protein included. And so unfortunately, we threw away everything we purchased that day. The tough part is the little critters were on our bbq sticks which were pulled out from the display area under the heat lamps. And that was very concerning for me. So sad to say due to this, we won't be going back. I hate to even leave this review but I'll always be honest about all experiences. Good or bad. Honestly we would still be going if that never happened. But now that it has, we will not be.

A tub of Magnolia ube ice cream and banana turons were calling my husband's name, so those came back to the hotel with us too. If we hadn't already eaten, we would've grabbed lunch there--the food smelled so inviting. The cashier was especially lovely--friendly, chatty, and engaging with everyone in line. That kind of warm customer service is refreshing and definitely deserves recognition. We left fully content, happy to revisit a familiar place and score a few fun impulse finds. Fou Lee Market continues to be a comforting, nostalgic stop that never disappoints. Update: The banana turon was really good. Super crunchy exterior with sugar that hardened into a crisp shell instead of turning gooey. Inside was a whole banana, not mushy or overcooked or dry, which gave it great texture. Tons of unique flavors and my favorite was the very flavorful lavender and strawberry! You could mix both of them as well and make a blend! The guys at this place were super nice and I was glad that they were open at night. But I think their hours are more focused on the morning crowds.

You pay for your cup, then you self-serve your tastes. There were 11 or 12 cider flavors to sample, such as peach, strawberry, apple caramel, lavender, blackberry, raspberry, and more. I ended up mixing two flavors together for my cup. So fun!
