Friendly, Fast service the vegetables and fruits are extremely fresh, and they have a decent amount of stock. The herbs were fresh, and great prices for the bundles. Spent about $37 total and got all my necessities!

Plants we got for our garden: - english cucumbers - Carmen peppers - watermelon - zucchini Fruits/veggies we purchased from their fresh produce section: - corn - pears - nectarines Overall, comparable prices to nurseries & grocerys in the area. They have a bigger selection but these were some of the items we wanted today. We also liked how this store was very close to our home. They also sell bark and organic soil!

1/2lb out of about 2lbs in the basket were bad. Fresh or freshly spoiled?

Went in there and decided to check this place out since I always pass it on the way to my gfs. I grabbed the best looking basket of ranier cherries and bought them. About $8 when I was rung up.. not bad. It was for almost 2lbs of ranier cherries. Let me tell you.. the top were about ok.. the bottom were complete crap. I had about 1/2 of rotting cherries that I paid good money for. That feels bad... I think I'm going to let my friends know to shop else where.

This was bought YESTERDAY! How long was it around to have gotten so much mold so fast!

I can get better vegetables for better prices than the grocery stores around here. And it's right in my neighborhood. I love this place.

I drove all the way to Burien to check out PCC's marketplace. It was about an hour from my home,…read moreand there's no PCC community market south of Seattle that I know of. So, I made the trip to get Upton's Traditional Seitan and just explore the store. They have a variety of good options, especially for those who create their own meals and like to use whole-grain ingredients. The store is compact, but it offers a wide variety of products. You can purchase assorted nuts by the ounce, or packaged options. They also have a selection of fruits, vegetables, a hot bar, a deli section, and kombucha. I noticed that many of the brands they carry have fewer ingredients, less artificial flavoring and sugars. I visited this store specifically to purchase seitan, and I ended up buying a couple of packages for $5.29 each, which I find to be a reasonable price. I couldn't find this brand at any other store, but I chose it because it has minimal ingredients, low fat and sodium content, and a generous amount of protein at 2 ounces. Many processed foods have a long list of ingredients and oils, which makes them unhealthy and fatty. As a vegetarian who is trying to eat cleaner, I appreciate this product. I also tried the Brew Doctor kombucha, which usually costs $2.50. However, they have a special offer where you can buy two bottles for a discounted price. The kombucha is very light and refreshing, not overpowering with vinegar or sugar. Overall, it's worth the drive to get this product. I'll definitely be coming back for it and other products in the future.

Latino shoppers will find faves here too. I was amazed at the fresh and frozen meat and seafood offerings....unusual cuts, whole (fish, poultry, goat, sheep), offal, exotica. Kitchen gear. Fresh produce. Canned, packaged, frozen food. Variety of rice in varying sizes. Snacks. Alcohol and other beverages. Hot deli. Baked goods. Kind of if one compressed Uwajimaya, Asian Family Market, and Saar's. A plus that Filipino products and ingredients were well featured. So please explain to me how it's acceptable to charge customers for grocery bags and deny restroom access, forcing someone with a neurological condition into an impossible situation: either urinate in the parking lot and risk civil consequences or humiliate myself by having an accident. That is not customer service. That is not dignity. That is not accessibility. If the concern is theft and vandalism, let's be honest about the problem. Having two security guards camped at the front door checking receipts clearly isn't solving it. Meanwhile, legitimate customers -- including disabled customers -- are punished instead. I shouldn't have to disclose a medical condition or beg for basic human needs just to buy groceries. The ADA exists for a reason, and so does basic human decency. This store has two entrances but only uses one, with two security guards posted at the front door. If theft and vandalism are the concern, this approach clearly isn't working. The fish here tastes and smells like the high quality, flavorful, well-made stuff it is. The fish looks beautiful too. They let us try the regular smoked salmon, the garlic, and the candied. All superb. Be warned the candied stuff - heck, all of them are addicting. The cost may seem high, but it is completely justified. You aren't getting bottom of the barrel keta (translated from native tongue to "dog") fish or "pink" salmon (only 1 tier up), you're getting fresh fish. There was no hint of gross "fishy" smell before or after eating. (To make your salmon last longer, may I suggest enjoying your salmon with rice and veggies, or in a sandwich?) They also sell high quality pork, beef, chicken, and other things in the freezer like sausage, duck, cheese. They also have pretty nicely priced wines for sale, from low $10s and up. Whites, reds, and bubblies. Highly recommend you make the side-tour to this joint for salmon. A fish dressed to impress that will win you praises.

Croissants, breads, what have you. It's a great deal. However, there is still the issue with the bags. I have noticed QFC at least bringing back handles on their paper bags, but not at this Fred Meyer. Yet. I emailed Mike Johnson head of Kroger about this, but--I only expect a response in the form of bags with handles. Safeway still uses plastic bags with handles, and they're not as good as Kroger, Fred Meyer. So why won't they keep up? Obviously, it's not a state mandate, otherwise nobody could get plastic bags anywhere. Bread. Pastries. Beans. Chips. Trash liners. Cereals. Bagels. Rice. Potatoes. Produce. Salad. Pasta. Over half the items in the stores use plastic bags, so why should the carry-out bags be any difference? Won't make a dent. I just bring in my Safeway plastic bags when I go to Fred Meyer. Not to be a jerk, mind you, but to prove a point. Bags with handles are best.

I was a courtesy clerk at 16 when there was etiquette, training and most definitely strict representation of the store's brand! She'd just saved me a coupon and a trip to kfc for a $5 2 piece meal! As I was leaving there was a man at the door asking for change for food, I searched my pockets and found nothing so I said that I had nothing, he thanked me anyway. I went to my truck to see if I had any change there, I didn't so I went and gave the man my 4 piece and JoJo's and went back inside and ordered another for myself...this was the other associate. I ordered the same thing and she gathered it but not taking time to check the food for what's freshest and what's not like the previous associate had done. I came home and immediately regretted not saying anything; over 1/2 the jojo's were hard and stale! The pieces of chicken she choose weren't any better! Customer satisfaction is your job...Get it?! Do Better!! To the initial associate: Thank you for your dedicated service! They also have an in-house restaurant with dine-in, take out, and delivery that is very good. The best thing that La Canasta does is their chorizo seco!! I have tried all of the local varieties from here to there, and La Canasta makes the best! I recommend grilling (be careful as it is oily and will flare up) and then crumbling on tacos, burritos, breakfast burritos, etc. I also will prepare a bunch in advance and freeze, so I can pull out for quick reheat.
