While waiting for my meal, I checked out the layout & decor of the restaurant, which I found very nice. The ambiance was steady & busy but not loud. Just perfect for an afternoon. My waiter was super attentive, checking in on me each time he came through & always giving me a big smile. Very nice man. My Huevos Rancheros were absolutely delicious & cooked just right to my liking. Perfect portion size as well. It's good to try other things on the menu & I'm glad I did. It's very family, friendly and for 8 to 9 dollars you can get your meal, drink, side, and dessert for the kids which I think is a great price. My son ordered the cheese quesadillas and my daughter had the steak tacos. They had rice and beans and fruit as their sides and a drink of milk. Later they would get ice cream for their dessert. When we went, it was about 430 on a Friday and they have happy hour between three and six so we ordered mostly off of the happy hour menu. I ordered the watermelon agua Fresca and summer fajitas off of their seasonal menu while my husband ordered tortillas, tacos, and quesadillas off of the happy hour menu. I thought the happy our menu was amazing. For five dollars each plate you can get so much food. Altogether we were in and out and about an hour. The place itself was lively. Parking is plentiful outside in the lot. Prices are beyond reasonable. The music is fun and upbeat. You have to get the guacamole. Throughout the meal, we repeatedly had to request basic items such as utensils, salsa..etc. What was most disappointing was that our server never checked back on our table to see if we needed anything or how our meal was. The next interaction we had was being handed the check, which made us feel rushed and as though the goal was simply to get us out the door. She took the time to explain the offerings and the daily specials despite that crowd that was there. Quick and kind to explain yet gracious - that takes skill! Just be aware that the Quesotaco tastes best with the birria meat option - at least it was for us. But that does not discount how GREAT the food tastes and that the pricing is a great value because they do NOT skimp on the meat selection (and they have plenty!). The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. The highlight for me was the $5 frozen margarita--it was the perfect way to cool off and paired great with our meal. I was able to visit this location recently and was impressed. Now I'm not saying it's as good it was back in the days. But it has improved since my last visit over ten years ago. The Queen Creek location is not that big, it's pretty opened up and leans towards a sports bar atmosphere. The workers were very nice, and the food was very good. I had the stew green chili burrito.
