Melon Agua Fresca and Strawberries n Cream
    Roger T.

Been here a handful of times and pretty much get the usual things which were the Strawberries n Creme, Banana Split, and any one of the Agua Fresca's. This time around we got Chopped Fresh Fruit, Sinful Fruit Salad Escamocha, and Carne Asada Fries. The Chopped Fresh Fruit($9.99) you have your choice of four fresh fruits for them to chop and put together in a container. We chose cucumbers, melon(cantaloupe), pineapple, and strawberries. The melons weren't really ripe and it was not as soft as should be. All the other fruits were just right. The Sinful Fruit Salad Escamoca($12.99 for the 32 oz) has mango, melon, strawberry, banana, sweet cream, granola, sweet coconut flakes. Now this is even better than the Strawberries n Cream! You have other ingredients other than the strawberries! I mean, who doesn't want more? The Carne Asada Fries(11.99) was not good. The carne asada itself was very salty. The cheese or lack there of was a fail. Definitely not ordering this again. Service was decent. You order at the counter and then they call out your order to pick up. In closing, I would say stick to the desserts here. Based on the asada fries, I sadly assume that the burger and hot dog they serve is not good either. Also for some reason, they have the heat on high here. It gets pretty hot in there. It was a nice day outside and was not cold at all. Yelp 2023 Review #18 911 overall

    Strawberry Cheesecake Raspado

This was our first time at this Frutlandia and it started getting packed. The cashier was nice and the place was small and cozy. People ahead of us ordered a lot of food, so I expected a bit of a wait. The wait was so worth it! I had the Strawberry Cheesecake Raspado and it was amazingggg. I can't wait to try a few others! Not sure why the reviews for this place are so low, but they do give a lot of food for the prices. The restaurant was clean and I appreciated the Thrifty ice cream as well. So good.

Went to this place and only one employee working. It was super busy but found out Alicia was the manager and the only one working. She was calm and kept attending everyone, and even gave a smile to each customer. Awesome job! Plus their tosti elotes and raspados are amazing too!

Our whole family went out this weekend to Fruitlandia for the first time. We got the carne asada fries and a hamburger. The fries were crinkle cut and had plenty of seasoning. They were served with a spicy red hot sauce that brought out the flavor in the meat which was equally well seasoned and delicious. The burger reminded our daughter of a larger White Castle burger, so it didn't have a char broiled taste, but she enjoyed it, and she isn't a big burger fan. The staff was friendly. I'm not sure why, but the the guest Wi-Fi password didn't work so I couldn't do a check-in as I didn't have a cell connection in the area. The lobby area was nice. It kind of reminded me of an old school ice cream shop but coupled with Mexican food. The food all looked great, but the dessert shakes looked epic. We may just have to stop in there some time just for them. The lobby wasn't real large, but we managed to sit inside on a Saturday night. Advice to management: post the guest Wi-fi password so your guests don't have to ask, and if they ask, be sure to make sure it works. Also, good job on hiring friendly people and keeping the lobby looking clean.

Place is clean and the young ladies who helped us out today were great. Definitely if you want a nice cool beverage or maybe some elote in a cup, this is the place.

This is our first time to go into this place to try it out and gotta say some of the best ice cream out there I would recommend taking a family here for a night out anytime

The raspados here are good but the customer service could be a little better. It was a busy day when I showed up so maybe the staff were worn out. The cool thing about Frutilandia is their vast selection of ice cream and raspado flavors. I would maybe return one day and try some of their other treats on the menu.

Churro, chamoyada, strawberry! My fav was the churro.

SO YUMMY!! I docked a star because it was pretty hot inside and made it a bit uncomfortable especially when wanting a cold treat. Regardless, we will be returning! A delicious treat, with nice employees.

I'm silly for a good mole. Theirs was pretty good. Tender bites of chicken breast. I've had other with whole legs, etc. Not a fan. This was cooked to perfection. Rice and beans were nice as well. I took dessert to go. Sopillias. Very fresh. Dripping with honey. Made my evening coffee perfect! You get a generous 4 pieces. Ate them all! Well done folks. As always my judge is "will I return?" Absolutely.

The restaurant is cute and looks like it has some history to it. I was greeted right away and sat at a two person table. There was a family for 4 eating but didn't seem to enjoy their food as they left plates full of food. I asked for a Happy Hour menu as I saw they had one posted but guess that was an outdated picture. I ordered a sprite, which tasted like syrup not enough carbonation. Then chips and salsa were sent out. Salsa red was not hot and the green was a sweet taste. I wanted to just order the tacos to taste each but wasn't able to. So I ordered the Taco de La Casa with a ground beef and carnitas tacos, which comes with beans/rice. I also ordered a shrimp taco a la carte. I was not satisfied at all. The tacos lacked flavor, the tortilla's are hand made as stated in other reviews. The shrimp taco was cold and tough. Sad to see such a beautiful building with potential not do so well on a Taco Tuesday night! Hope management will change it up and update there items to get more people in.

It sounds like a myth, but I'm going with it. Haha! My family and I were able to make a reservation at Barrio Queen, easily via OpenTable. Their patio was available if you wanted to sit out there, but really it was closed because of the heat so we sat inside. We had a nice, spacious booth for the four of us and the hostess was super sweet and accommodated us right away. We were greeted by our server, Hanna, who was absolutely amazing. The service was so fast. She listened to everything and she was super sweet to the kids. The kids got to color while they waited for their milk and they ordered off of the kids menu. It's very family, friendly and for 8 to 9 dollars you can get your meal, drink, side, and dessert for the kids which I think is a great price. My son ordered the cheese quesadillas and my daughter had the steak tacos. They had rice and beans and fruit as their sides and a drink of milk. Later they would get ice cream for their dessert. When we went, it was about 430 on a Friday and they have happy hour between three and six so we ordered mostly off of the happy hour menu. I ordered the watermelon agua Fresca and summer fajitas off of their seasonal menu while my husband ordered tortillas, tacos, and quesadillas off of the happy hour menu. I thought the happy our menu was amazing. For five dollars each plate you can get so much food. Altogether we were in and out and about an hour. The place itself was lively. Parking is plentiful outside in the lot. Prices are beyond reasonable. The music is fun and upbeat. You have to get the guacamole. They bring over the car and make it there right in front of you and it's delicious and healthy, too! Hanna told us the way to get such flavor and everything they make is just to roast everything. Good tip. We also had Joe, the manager come over to make sure we had everything we needed. Altogether, my family and I had the best time. My husband even said this is a five star experience and my son said this is the best place ever! My daughter loved the music and was dancing the whole time. If my family is happy, I am happy. Truly a great place to spend my birthday. Also, Hanna brought over a complementary birthday dessert. A lava, chocolate cake with ice cream and strawberries on the side. Doesn't get much better than that. We will be back, Barrio, Queen! Which I believe stands for neighborhood queen. She happens to be right in between where I live and where I work so I will see you later, queen.

We got super lucky and were able to sit at the bar, open seating, with the TVs. There are regulars that come in and seem to have a good rapport with the staff and they love the food. It was a bit of a rush time and there was only one bartender so service was a bit slow. We did get some chips and salsa as we waited. Good chips, airy and crispy. The salsa was OK. I'm personally just not a fan of roasted salsa. Their beer was crisp and thoroughly cold which was refreshing. I tried the amor de mango and it was tasty. I can't remember my first drink either. It was a Paloma or a margarita, but i didn't enjoy as much, which is why I changed my next drink. The chimi trio was very tasty and full of flavor, one bean one chicken one beef, all good. Then we got the carnitas cheese crisp which was interesting and had good flavor. I would order both again. Service was pretty good. Like I said, the bartender was busy working by himself and when one of his coworkers noticed, we didn't have any more water then she would come by and help so that was appreciated. It s good date spot, or catching up with a friend or just grabbing a bite to eat and drink for yourself. I look forward to coming back and trying entrees. My only hope is that during the hot bright times they lower the shades and get more shades. Not only to reduce the sun coming in but also reduce the glare on the tv that way all spots at the bar are good spots.
