Service wasn't great... we were immediately seated, but it was at least 10/15 minutes until we were checked on and ordered drinks. Our server came around to us a total of 3 times our entire visit (we were there 1 1/2 hr.). Food was good and had no issues there, my only complaint is the service. I hate being a petty tipper, but I was tonight. Honestly my server/waitress deserved 0%. I most likely won't be returning. Delivery order. Took almost an hour for driver to get my food. When delivered, I asked about my drink. Driver was told that one did not come with my order (I spent almost $5 for a strawberry lemonade). Tried to call 3 times with no answer. The 4th time, apparently, the phone was taken off the hook because a voice message came on stating there was no voicemail set up. Tried to call 3 more times within the hour with same recording. I'm a huge fan of Juicy Crab so I was excited when I saw Athens had a location. I ordered a Hennessy Margarita with shrimp & mussels, juicy special hot. My food came out really fast but the sauce wasn't quite where I wanted it to be. Usually the hot sauce is a little darker but the color of my sauce is a lighter red. I let my waitress know and she was able to bring me a side of extra hot sauce. Overall the food wasn't bad, just the issue with the sauce. But I also think the sauce depends on who is cooking that day. Location: located in the cut a little off Broad. Only complaint is that the inside feels old/not clean. It wasn't visibly dirty but because it felt so old it left me feeling icky. read more

I am a server so I usually try to be pretty patient but this is single handedly the WORST service I have ever received and my crab was so over cooked I could hardly break the shell. By the time someone came to ask about drinks we already knew what we wanted. Then it took three different people to bring us a flat sprite and water. Once our food was dropped no one came back over. We had to flag someone down to ask for more water. Mind you this is spicy food??? Then when we are leaving all of the servers are up at the front having social hour. You'd think with how disgusting and dusty this restraint is they'd take initiative to clean up when there is only one table in the restaurant. For how expensive this food is you may as well go to McDonald's because you'll have better food and service. 0/10 will not return. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. When we first entered, they were very welcoming. The hostess sat us down pretty quickly but after that everything went downhill. We got sat down and waited over 25 mins for our server to come. Only for us to never get served and we ended up walking out. We didn't even get our drink order taken, let alone our food. if you want to spent a lot of money on food and don't mind always getting a partial order and no refund this is the place for you ! 2nd time in a row I've not got all items , and they let me get home and call just for them to say " oh we forgot this..." duh !!!!! why would you wait for me to call and not just CALL me and tell me you made a mistake before I got too far out. Hello, My name is Wanda Barron. My cousins and I visited the Juicy Crabs of Athens on 3/24/24 at 1:30 pm. We were looking forward all week long because we had a wonderful experience in the Juicy Crab of Conyers on my birthday. The food arrived pretty quickly, however; the drinks were terrible (mixed drinks). It was brought to the manager on duty attention that the mixed drink was awful, however; he explained to us that it would be no refund nor could he re do the drink without a charge . He was polite, however; very bad business. We all agreed that it will take us longer to drive to Conyers Juicy Crab, but it is worth the drive to be satisfied . Athens is closer, but Conyers is the bomb! read more

Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Be ready to over eat! I loved the flavor of the hush puppies, green bean appetizers were delightful. Walked away with really reasonable bill for 8 people (no drinks) under $300 for seafood. Must try! read more

The food was really good had nothing to complain. The ambiance was a vibe, but the service was not good. We did not get our appetizer till 2 min before our food got here. First time to this location. It seem a little chaotic when I walked in. The music is too loud and everyone is talking too loud because of the music. Not a big location. It took awhile to take my order for drink order. where we were going to leave but they came over when I was taking my keys out. The food was too salty the sauce but came out hot. I have been a fan of Lou Lou in Duluth for years and this place doesn't compare to their sauce. The staff have their personal items in plain view at a table with the customer sit I don't think that's a good idea to have that sitting there. They could do much better. Prices are too high for the amount of food you get plus the quality of the food is awful! If you want overpriced and overcooked seafood this place might be the place for you. read more

We are a family of foodies and we love to eat out and try different restaurants. The Juicy Crab is our absolute favorite. The staff is consistent and are always very friendly and attentive. The food is always fantastic and we leave the restaurant eagerly awaiting our next visit. If you love seafood and/or steam baskets you have to give it a try. read more

So the disappointment with my over all experience with JC-Athens. My waitress was amazing, Amanda was a rockstar who was a pleasure. She did amazing with interactions but that poor girl wasn't given a lot to work with. 1) Honestly I grew up in the DC area and the food I experienced was no better quality the Captain D's with the price points of the Red (Dead) Lobster. 2) Being approached by Security (dressed like some sorta bouncer at whats presented as a ATH Restaurant not a ATH Night Club) rather then having the message that I wasn't allowed to leave with the drink by the server is poor customer service. 3) The food simply didn't live up to their hype, Single clusters for more than the current price of a pound of crab legs is ridiculous, the sides where lackluster at best I have heard about this place from peers but honestly it was one of the worse dinning experience I can recall. read more

Let me start by saying that the food here is always great however last night(around closing time) my family came in for a late supper and our shrimp was not so great. Now we should have told the manager that night but instead we packed our shrimp up and left. Today I called and spoke with Thomas about our situation and he was more than happy to replace our meal however he did caution me to be sure next time to let the manager know that same day.
