Frye House GOOD: Milk Shake, fry quality BAD: flavor - I didn't want to keep eating I really wanted to love Frye House with its big local appeal. Unfortunately, it fell flat on the biggest part, flavor. The peanut butter milkshake was very good. The price and thickness was great. I'd give the place another try just for the milkshakes. I ordered a clam roll with onion rings. The fry batter looked good and was crispy, but it was tasteless. There didn't seem to be any salt or spice in the batter. I nailed it with salt and pepper, it really didn't help. The batter was also grainy at times reminding me of sand. I would try again, but likely do a burger or fried chicken. The only part of dinner that popped was the tartar sauce. Do try a milkshake.

My daughter raves about the wings here so I thought I'd give them a try. Keep in mind, right now the Nation is in the grips of the COVID-19 pandemic, so they had curbside and take out service only (yay! I didn't have to cook or leave the car). We ordered a pound of teriyaki wings and waited in the car as they were being prepared. After a bit they were delivered to us curbside by a friendly little chap whom I assume was the owners son. He was even kind enough to run back in for an ice water for me. It was worth the wait! The one pound of wings was the perfect portion for my daughter and I to share. I think we got about 8 nice plump meaty wings fries to crunchy perfection and glazed with their sweet, sticky, tangy teriyaki sauce. Not too gooey but not too stingy either. The wings were juicy and perfectly fried they had that satisfying crunch when you bit in and seasoned perfectly. They came with a cool refreshing ranch dressing on the side. You're gonna lick your fingers and wish you ordered more. Pandemic or not this is a kick-ass wing joint! I highly recommend. I'm going back to try all their wing varieties.

When one gets a craving for fried seafood and lobster rolls, one MUST have fried seafood and lobster rolls. But on a Monday night in Augusta we found ourselves scrambling because Red Barn and Sandy point were closed. Good ole Yelp to the rescue! The Frye house came up in our search and had really good reviews, a few from elites so I deemed it trustworthy. TA DA! An amazing meal we had! Fried clams Lobster rolls Seafood Stew. Everything was good but the stew was AMAZING. Sometimes I find stews to be bland- it's like a missed alley-oop- the seafood is there, you have cream, but some places just don't season it well and it's so disappointing. Not at the Frye House! It was well season and the cream base had a good seafood flavor to it, not to mention HUGE chunks of lobster, scallops, shrimp and haddock. No potatoes or other stupid fillers to get in the way of hot seafood creamy goodness.

Cute sign!

Terribly over cooked & dry chicken Terribly over priced…read more The town was mobbed, busy and everywhere packed EXCEPT this place. It should have been my sign. Dont eat here !! Bread was badly under cooked also. The portion sizes are great for kids, terrible for a grown adult . Worst Indian food I've ever eaten in my entire life !

Looking up the menu online I found it had a great selection of Pakistani/Indian food. And the real treat was this place was affordable! As someone who eats alone fairly often this was great, especially since Indian restaurants tend to be pricier for individuals. Online the menus averaged between $11-$13 per entree ($2.50 for the likes of naan). I was sold. When I got to the place I excitedly walked up and ordered chicken kahari and garlic naan before being told my total was $26. I was expecting a total about $10 less than that. I went ahead and completed the order but I was a bit put off. I found a paper menu taped to a fridge nearby with updated pricing. Items were greatly upped, some even doubling. If consider you going here please use this photo for reference. The food took about 30 minutes to receive, came out piping hot. Overall it was pretty good. Not the best I've had but definitely hit the spot. I didn't finish it all, they give you a decent amount. This place was ok, but I definitely got a "to-go" vibe from the inside. It's just a bummer the prices aren't "to-go" prices. If I'm paying $30 for dinner I'd like to sit down in a decent restaurant.

I just ordered a single hot dog baskets the fries are so good! Hand it with skins. Perfectly crisp, with a big cup of ketchup on the side. Cole slaw is delicious! I'm not much of a cole slaw person, so that says a lot. The menu is extensive! Truly something very everyone. Not only hot dogs here! Burgers, lobster rolls, chowder, sausage, poutine. DONUTS!!! Yes fresh made everyday. Plus the biggest Whoopie pies you'll ever see. Service is wonderful, as seeks to be the norm here in central Maine. They greet you as you come in the door. The voices coming out of the kitchen seem calm and relaxed. You can tell they like being here and they all get along. They have some indoor seats, so it's nice to sit and people watch and listen to commentary as they eat. Can't wait to come back again, and then again and again all summer.

There really is nothing better than snapping into the loaded dog, sitting outside in the sun, on a warm sunny Maine day. Oh, loaded dogs do not come with ketchup - so if you need it on the dog you gotta ask for it. Their fries are fresh and come out piping hot, everything is cooked to order, but their onion rings do it for me. And the prices are stupid reasonable. They offer a variety of bottled water and soda, coffee, tea, everything you'd expect from a local dog eatery. Line goes fast, food is always fresh and delicious it's always a summer check list thing for me to have a dog from Bolley's. Cause it ain't summah in Maine otherwise. They take cash and card and are ADA accessible.

Dinner was great- had the calamari appetizer, and stuffed baked haddock. While not the best I've ever had, it was pretty good. Mashed potatoes could have been more mashed - ran into some large hard chunks. Our waitress pleasant, but interrupted our conversation several times. Some social training seems to be in order. Additionally, she disappeared for over 15 minutes, leaving our drinks sitting on the bar. I fetched them for our table and she never even seemed to notice. Although the food tasted good, we will never be back, as both my husband and I suffered diarrhea from it... wasn't going to mention this but honestly people should know.
