My IPhone picked up a virus, and it was acting odd. Meetings would constantly appear, that were taking up the memory. I saw FryedPhones had excellent reviews, so I trusted them to fix the problem. They are located on Adams near Brookhurst in HB, in the same strip mall as Polly's. Rex to the rescue! Rex took me in as a walk in (you are supposed to text first; I didn't see the foregoing til later). He said at first he would wipe the phone. Luckily I had everything backed up. Unfortunately, the first action didn't work. However, Rex warned me of this and took more extensive action the second go around: This time it worked! I had my IPhone back in about 1 1/2 hours. I'm so glad I found Rex on Yelp. He save my phone's screen and saved me 180$ ( Apple charged you 279$ for iPhone X's screen ) I was rushing to work on Friday morning. As I got out of the car, I put my phone in my pant's pocket. I didn't have a case on or a screen protector because I love the feel of the glass screen and glass back touching my fingers. As I walked into work, the phone fell out of my pocket onto the floor, faced down...and I stepped right on top of it as I realized what was happening. My heart stopped and my stomach dropped. As my I picked my phone up and turn it over, I died inside. The screen is cracked with scratches all over. My head started spinning. I did a quick google search on Apple to see how much they charge to replace the screen. 279$ without apple care and out of warranty. (Apple Care is 199$ + 29$ to replace iPhone X screen). I wasn't gonna spend that money just to fix a screen of an already 1 year old, expensive thousand dollars phone. So now I have 3 options: 1- Wait for the next phone to come out and live in misery for a couple months 2- Trade in my phone with the damaged screen (150$ worth) and pay 900$ for the iPhone Xs 3- Found some place that fix my phone screen at a reasonable price I did a quick search on Yelp and sent out a message to several businesses. I got several quick responses, all reasonable prices. However, FryedPhone has the most yelp reviews, all 5 stars. So I decided to go with Rex. I was able to get my phone's screen fix the next day for 99$. Amazing! Rex was so nice and personable. He let us watch while he was fixing the screen. We also had a nice conversation about Tesla, electric cars, the future of transportation, our pets, etc... Such a breath of fresh air having a conversation with him. He also showed me the Face ID component inside the phone which I found interesting (I love tech). 20 min later, my phone was restored to her original glory. The screen was no longer cracked, Face ID works perfectly, and the feeling of the screen smoothness were restored. I'm just happy and grateful. I wish I found Rex sooner! I cracked my iPhone XS Max screen in the morning, and FryedPhones replaced my cracked screen with an Apple OEM screen by the afternoon. In contrast, my phone screen cracked back in July, and I had a different servicer replace my screen. The screen was aftermarket--the display was dull and dim, the touch was not as responsive, and the screen protector was thin and weak.
