I would say that at least a dozen times we have gone in for produce to see empty bins . Today no lettuce at all and 2 cucumbers..what's up people ? Lets talk about price gouging. Every time the winter visitors arrive, prices go up. And it is in addition to the already skyrocketing prices of groceries. A SUPER huge grocery store with carts that don't work correctly. To make things worse, you can't exit the same way you came in. By the time you realize your cart is a piece of crap you are already inside the store and have to go all the way around and out a different door to try a new one. You can't navigate a store this huge with a cart that won't roll straight or is hard to push. I went all the way around and got another cart. It seemed to roll great. I got 20 feet into the store it wouldn't roll straight. I went allll the way around a third time and when I got the cart into the store I had a bad cart AGAIN....I left the cart sitting right there and walked out of the store without buying anything. I've been shopping at this Fry's recently since I have been on the hunt for lower grocery prices the past few months. This is a HUGE store that is very overwhelming at first, but I do like that it has everything you need. Just be prepared to spend a little more time than normal here as the store is large and takes some time to navigate around, especially at first. So far, my goal of finding lower prices has been accomplished by shopping here, and customer service has been decent. One particularly positive experience I've had recently was with a cashier named Robley. He was awesome! Very friendly, which, unfortunately, I feel like is few and far between these days in the customer service industry. I hope Robley gets some recognition for his outstanding work. The only reason why I give 4 stars is I feel like the overall cleanliness of the store (especially the bathrooms) could be improved. read more

I remember that first time at Flemings. Color was white with a hint of yellow. Cold and creamy with a strong french vanilla flavor. So rich and full of flavor. I tried to get Flemings to sell me an industrial size container but they never came through. I tried lots of supermarket ice creams but didn't find a vanilla this good. I found out Arizona grocery stores sold Blue Bell Ice Cream and made plans for a road trip. Homemade Vanilla had a rich egg and vanilla flavor. Dense as Haagan Daz vanilla and more of a french vanilla flavor. This is the first Blue Bell flavor I've tried and it's delicious. Natural Vanilla Bean had a very strong vanilla bean flavor and not as dense as the Homemade Vanilla flavor. One of the best Vanilla Bean ice creams I've tried. Mint Chocolate Chip had strong mint and chocolate flavors. Delicious combination! Strawberries and Homemade Vanilla taste like strawberry ice cream. Impressive how much strawberry flavor these strawberries have. Supermarket strawberries I've eaten generally don't have much flavor. Cookies & Cream is full of cookie flavor with minimal vanilla ice cream flavor. Not sure if the cookies are genuine Oreo's but the flavor is in the same ballpark. Cookie Two Step had a nice balance of flavors between the vanilla ice cream, Oreo flavor, and cookie dough flavor. This is my fav of the cookie flavored ice creams. I loved all the Blue Bell flavors I tested withHomemade Vanilla, Natural Vanilla Bean and Mint Chocolate Chip being my favorites. I was really impressed how rich and full of flavor all the Blue Bell Ice Cream was. It's close to Ben & Jerry's richness but only $6.99 or less for a half gallon. Blue Bell's website indicated they have Cherry Vanilla & Sherbet flavors available but I was unable to find any in the Phoenix area. I'll continue the search for additional flavors to try next visit. I took a 40 quart Igloo Max Cold with 3 large & 4 medium size Cooler Shock ice packs. That left room for 2 half gallons + 1 pint of ice cream. Ice cream held up well for the 7 hour drive. Next time I'm gonna bring a Igloo 45656 Yukon Roller Coolers, 50-Quart with the 7 ice packs. read more

They advertise that you can place a pick up order and it will be ready in 2 hours or less. I have NEVER EXPERIENCED THAT! the normal wait time for a delivery is about 4-6 hours and I only had 10 iteams. And if you accidentally forget an iteam I was literally 10 seconds after placing my order I went to add it on and it would let me because it said they were "working on my order already but yet they still made me wait 6 hours. The only reason I do pick up is if there a digital coupon that I really want to use that will only allow me to use for pick up. But in all honesty going inside is so much faster and easier and I don't understand why the prices online are different from the prices in store. For example I paid .25 cent each for an organic banana but yet I went inside and they were .65 each. And they can add to your order and they can substitute on your order it just depends on how lazy your employee is. read more

Fry's Foods is a grocery store chain that operates exclusively in Arizona. The one in Apache Junction is one of the very worst grocery stores in America. Among the highlights I've observed, in no special order: * Cash v. bank card is always a problem @ self-check reg. * Fry's never heard of something called "Express Lane" for customers with ten or fewer items. Snotty-mouth cashiers growl, "That's what the Self-Check is for," despite the same huge lines and common malfunctions. * Snarly, untrained teenagers are often left in charge of sensitive customer relations issues. * Deli and meat counter staff are equally nasty and short-tempered, esp. when closing @ 7 pm. * With a dozen or more standard cash registers, only ONE is open, and always with long a line. * Generic, unknown brands nobody ever heard of. * Store claims to stay open until 11 PM but most depts. are already closing by 7 pm. * Fry's guarantees their produce is fresh, but that's as far as freshness goes. This Fry's market needs new management. Without fail they only have half the products I look for, it's not that they don't carry them, it's because they haven't been ordered. What really puts the cherry on top is cashier check out. I'd rather use a cashier rather than self-checkout in hopes that I'm assisting cashiers to keep their job. If you shop at the Fry's Marketplace in Apache Junction, check your receipts for overcharges I rarely shop at Frys because the closest store, Apache Junction, consistently overcharges for items. When they first opened their clearance bakery and produce items regularly rang up for regular price because the UPC wasn't covered by the clearance label. Also sale signs on hamburger are stuck in the wrong place resulting in the meat by the sign not ringing up on sale. Today my digital coupons items didn't ring up for sale. Then after having to go back to the service desk person, the service person had the nerve to tell me I need to "clip" the coupon items online first - which I DID do before I left my home. Besides the overcharge issue, today the store was busy with only one checkout open so I spent a long time checking a cart full of merchandise out on self checkout. I must have had the machine stop and put a warning out 10 times because I took a bag off before I had finished paying. If there was a decent amount of space to leave a cart full of bagged merchandise in the rack there wouldn't be that issue. Or do like Walmart and let people put their stuff in the cart as they check out without a warning going off. I hate Frys read more

The store itself was very clean and organized. Lots of space too. I have no complaints about the store. The only downfall is the entrance to the parking lot from the street. How confusing! You have to stop in the middle divider of the busy street in front of the store and it is downright scary! I can imagine many car accidents happen here! read more

A huge white truck with carts in the bed and help wanted signs in the windows parked in the handicapped access aisle at the Frys on Idaho and Old West Highway. Visited them for the first time on Jun 20 2020. It is an HUGE store necessitating a lot of walking. At first glance it looks very impressive and gives one the impression that if you cannot find it here yuou will not find it anywhere. However, we came up short on many items out of stock which we had recently purchased at Bashas. Seems that they have loads of certain products taking up a lot of shelf space, like a warehouse! Prices in general overall seemed a little higher than Bashas. We spent two hours in there and then had to go back to Bashas for the stuff we could not find. Staff were not very helpful particularly at the meat dept. The main reason I am prompted to write this review is that there seemed very little effort on their part to help spread of COVID-19, when compared with the efforts of other stores including, among others, Bashas, Home Depot, Lowes, Costco, Walgreens etc. For example,there was no one way systems in place, no remiders of social distancing. Very few customers wearing masks including one man who sneezed over vegetable and did not even try to cover his face with his hand. However, all the staff we saw were wearing masks. read more

My wife placed a pick up order that was supposed to be ready between five and 6 o'clock tonight. When I went to pick it up shortly after 5 o'clock they were about 10 cars waiting and when I called they told me, once I finally got a hold of someone, that they were running behind and they would call us when our order was ready. At 7:30 I still hadn't heard from anyone so I called in and was told at that time that my order was ready and that I could come right down and pick it up. I pulled into the parking lot at 7:47 and called to let them know I was there. It's now 922 and I'm still waiting for my order. I've been told multiple times that it is ready, but nobody seems to actually be delivering groceries to the cars. It's literally taking over 30 minutes between deliveries to each car. The assistant manager came out and gave everyone a $10 gift card for the inconvenience. This is more than an inconvenience. I could've easily gone in and done my own shopping at this pointAnd probably save myself some money in the process. I'm extremely frustrated right now and still waiting for my groceries. If the manager happens to see this I would love to be contacted. Update: after waiting over 2 hours, we discovered that my order had been given to someone else. Those people were nice enough to return it, but then Frys tried giving me those returned groceries. I politely asked them to repick my order. The assistant manager refunded my money, however when I got home I realized about $20 of groceries were missing. So I get to go back tomorrow and work that out. The assistant manager did try. I was in here a couple days ago and when I say that the customer service was piss poor, THATS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! I've never shopped at this Frys before. (I live way too far from it) I was shopping for an Instacart order and one of the items on my list was some kind of frozen fish, so I walked over to the meat department and looked for it and couldn't find it, so I asked the older guy stocking the meat case, if he knew whether or not they carried it, and I sh!t you not this dude literally just goes "I have no idea" and walked to the back and that was it. I was so baffled. After I finished up my order and went to check out, they only had 1 cashier and self checkout open, there were big long lines through both. I don't normally go through self checkout for Instacart orders if they are big orders and this order definitely wasn't small, so I got in line for the cashier. For a good solid 5 minutes, the three us of waiting in line for the cashier watched as the manager Audra stocked the grocery bags and and tidied up the other registers and it was so obvious that she could see a line had formed, and another couple minutes past before she opened another register to check my stuff out, and without even saying a word, she literally motioned with her hand without even LOOKING at me, to come over to her register she was opening up at. It was so freaking awkward, and I knew from that moment that this lady was going to be rude just like the meat dept guy. Very rarely do my Instacart orders have "Online Pay" which is basically a function that makes it so that the cashier just scans a barcode and you don't have to swipe your Instacart card to pay for it (it's actually quite convenient) but you are supposed to present the online pay barcode to the cashier before loading your groceries on the belt, and I forgot to check whether my order had online pay, MY BAD!!! So Audra notices that I had Online Pay on my order and she rolls her eyes and in the rudest way possible tells me that she has to scan my order all over again while raising an eyebrow at me. She then went on to explain to me how online pay works TWO MORE TIMES after initially explaining it to me. I got the message the first time and I apologized. She finishes ringing up my order and starts ringing up my personal order of THREE FREAKING ITEMS, and she's going super fast. I could barely keep up by putting the grocery bags from my Instacart order in my cart, and she takes the one bag of my own groceries and she PUSHES my bag all the way to the far corner of the grocery corral and goes "You might wanna keep your bag seperate" and walks away without a care in the world that I was already going as fast as I could and needed her to slow down. I was so pissed off and I couldn't believe that they allow such rude despicable behavior from their managers. Unfortunately, I don't get to choose if certain orders on Instacart are assigned this store, so I might have to be back here. Clean up the rude unnecessary behavior. The Clicklist dept. in this store has failed me for the last time. I went and picked up my order and normally I don't mind substitutions today however I am making a recipe that I only use white sweet potatoes for not the red yams I specifically made sure unmarked the substitutions ok box on this item and I received yams I drove back up to the store called Clicklist again told them the situation the girl who answered transferred me to her lead and the lead on 11/23/2019 at 1:40 p.m. asked me what she could do and I told her she could come and get the yams and bring me back my white sweet potatoes she said well we might not have them it will be a while I have a few cars ahead of you with one car besides me in the Clicklist lanes I find this unacceptable!!!!!!!!!! I now maybe understand why I was able to put an order in at 9 a.m. and be able to pick it up between 1-2 usually at this time it's already between 4-5. Two thumbs down on the new management of this Clicklist. Poor customer service!! 07-05-2020 This day of Fry's was ridiculous at best. This Fry's Marketplace is new to Apache Junction, and replaced the old Fry's Grocery on the south side of the trail. Everyone was very excited when this store was built, me included. But, the newness has worn off, and I leave you with this review, to explain why I won't come here again. On opening, the store was packed. The lines were long. The help was sparse. I thought it was pretty cool that they had decor, furniture, clothing AND groceries. Now, I just see it as competition for Wal-Mart that is doing a poor job. If you have perused any of my other reviews, you have noted my affinity for online purchases and reservations. The less "peopleing", the better. Enter Click-list. Click-list is a genius idea that more and more stores are coming up with, as an alternative to delivery, of course. The idea is that you shop online, head to the store at your chosen time, park in a designated stall, and pop the trunk to be served. You get your stuff packed, and away you go. If the store is out of something, they, with your permission, give you the next comparable item, even if it is more expensive. This item is given at the lower price. The first time Click-listed here, it was a change from the Signal Butte store that I usually go to, to see if this closer store was better. Several items were not available, with no comparable items. The Click-list service gal checked my ID for my alcohol purchase, and proceeded to tell me how young I looked, given that I was "way older than her mom". Uh...thanks? (I'm 40, for the record...NOT OLD) When I got home, I found that ALL of my 6 bananas had split skin and needed to be tossed. My chorizo tube had popped. One of my cheeses had a split and was air-exposed and hard. You contact them, and nothing happens. You review it on the Fry's site, and nothing happens. Well, maybe it was a fluke, I say. Come this Turkey Day. I make my order, and swing by after work for pick-up. The gal tells me that there is not one orange in the whole store. This isn't Orange Day, it's Turkey Day! Why are there no oranges! I only need one! There goes my homemade cranberry sauce. There is no Diet Sprite Cranberry. She has substituted regular original Sprite. No. Not ok. If someone orders diet, then regular is not ok. Cooked bacon is out. She has substituted another kind of bacon. I ask to verify that it is cooked, and not a pack of raw bacon. She takes a two-second look in my bags and tells me that it must be cooked, because she doesn't see it in my refrigerated goods. Only to get home and find that it is RAW BACON. Beans and rice people! This is ridiculous. She is also very huffy with me, and is aggravated that she has to go back inside and void the Sprite that I didn't order. I will not choose this Fry's again. The prices are higher, the selection less, and the customer service non-existent. Going inside the store is a hot mess. You can't easily find what you need. You wait in long lines to end with a grouchy, overworked cashier with no package help. Adding a bar to your grocery store is like putting lipstick on a pig, or trying to polish a turd. The layout of the store is counterintuitive and doesn't make sense from a shopper's standpoint. And every time I check out at a cashier register instead of self check out, I overhear the employees talking horribly about management, the store and either getting too many hours that they're overworked, or that they aren't getting enough hours. It's tacky and inappropriate to talk so openly about how unhappy you are with your job/employer. I've also had a problem with the things I want not being in stock. Like basic brands and items. Frys leaves alot to be desired on their fried chicken. The first batch was over cooked. Waited until they cooked fresh chicken a 45 minute wait. The chicken we brought home, even though waiting for fresh, some of the chicken was still over cooked. We paid $6.99 a pound. Total was $27.00. Not worth it. I like this store because they have a lot of the things I need. I go here about 3 times a week and spend quite a bit. The bad part is I am almost ALWAYS overcharged for one thing or another. You have to watch them like a hawk. Just today I asked the clerk to verify the price on something and I thought all was fine until I noticed I was overcharged for the very thing I asked her about. So annoying. They are unapologetic for overcharging and some of the employees are downright rude. There's some that stand outside and smoke and use the F word loudly as a matter of course. Pretty unprofessional. Other employees are polite and helpful.. Like I say, I do like the store but if I continue to be overcharged I might begin to shop elsewhere. read more

I would like to take this opportunity to compliment the staff at the Fry's Marketplace located at 150 E. Old West Highway, in Apache Junction, AZ! The store is clean and the shelves are always well stocked. My visit today was no different! I found everything I needed plus the extra of the friendly cashier, who is always willing to help and share her beautiful smile! I am sick of the shitty customer service in this store. Each and every woman who works in the self check out or in the customer service booth is rude and acts like you are being blessed with their assistance and have zero sense of urgency. I had a HORRIBLE experience with this store this morning. I was trying to purchase my personal items and a case of water for my office. In turn the self checkout girl was standing behind me no less than 1 foot and I asked her to step away from me. She got mouthy and accused me of yelling at her. She would have known it if I was yelling at her because she would have been crying when I was finished. So as she is standing right behind me basically babysitting me and trying to "help" me she uses a card to proceed to add the water to my personal purchase. I needed to separate it to use my company card to pay. I asked her to step away again and there she was right behind me. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! Again she states she is trying to help me and I DIDN"T NEED help!!! I told her if somebody needs help they will ask and do NOT step in to help where you aren't wanted!!! I shop in this store 5 to 6 times a week and ready to drive to Mesa to get better customer service. SO as my frustration and annoyance were pouring from my every pore this woman proceeds to add the water on her own and charged me for ice not water. Wasting my time and making me late for work!!! I let her know she charged me for ice and not water!!! AGAIN something needs to be seriously taken care of in this store because the customer service sucks ass and she was a total snide unprofessional employee!!! I was 25 minutes late for work because when I needed her help she took her time and got mouthy again. This is a priviledge to have a job during this issue we are facing and having these prima donnas who think they can get away with shitty customer service needs to change. I called to speak with the store manager this afternoon and got put on hold and then hung up on. How is this professional and how do these people think they will continue to be employed if they treat people like garbage?? read more
