Customer service was excellent from the moment of my phone call to the completion of the work. Called for an estimate on some work I wanted done. The first thing Pan will tell you is how soon the work can be started. He does not string you along like some other companies. Pan was busy so he said he will send Ting. Ting arrived within the hour. I gave her an idea of what I wanted and she provided suggestions on what could be done. She even showed me pictures of items I could choose. Ting was on top of everything. We just had Fu Long Construction renovate our master bath and we are happy we used them. We found Fu Long Construction through Yelp. We did our due diligence by checking with the Better Business Bureau, Regulated Industries Complaints Office, DCCA Professional Vocational Licensing and the BIA to make sure there were no complaints or red flags. We found the reviews from people who used them very helpful. We met with Pan and told him that our home was built in 1960 with single-wall construction. Pan said that his construction company was familiar and has worked on other homes with single-wall construction. Our bathtub had a leak and because the tub surround is original, it would have to be replaced. Instead of just changing out the tub, we decided to do a complete bathroom renovation so that we would be able to "age in place." Pan looked at everything we wanted to have done and gave us a reasonable estimate and a timeline of 2-3 weeks, which was within our budget and timeframe. Our project started four days after the proposed start date due to his workers having to work on another project that was running behind schedule due to the rain the week before. When the crew started our job, they came every day. There was one day when the assigned worker called in sick so no work was done that day. They made up for it the next day by having two workers come to catch up. Our project was completed exactly 2 weeks from when they started. The workers of Fu Long Construction are very hard working, they are punctual, respectful, neat and friendly. At the end of every day they cleaned up their work area and collected their rubbish to take with them. Most of the crew did not speak much English but fortunately, the older workers were paired with a younger worker who did speak and understood English. I would use the younger worker to communicate with the older worker if there was something we questioned. If we had any pressing questions or concerns, we would text or call Pan and he would either text back or he would show up at our house to address our concerns. We bought a property that was newly renovated by Fu Long and discovered COUNTLESS quality issues with SO MANY THINGS. Fu Long was the prime contractor for the vinyl floors throughout the house, a brand new bathroom renovation, and a new kitchen renovation to include installation of appliances. The property was vacated, renovated by Fu Long, and sold immediately after renovations were completed to me. First off, the cold and hot water for the showers were flipped so we had to call a plumber who informed us that they were installed wrong. Since there was a warranty, we called Fu Long about a stove that was not working. Two personnel showed up and informed us that we had to call the appliance company. After calling the appliance company who sent a repairman, the repairman informed us that the stove was not hooked up correctly. There are numerous gaps throughout the house between the floor and baseboards, and now, the vinyl floorboards are separating. A couple months ago, the floating shelf that they had installed ripped clean off and i discovered that they anchored this large floating shelf INTO THE DRYWALL AND NOT THE STUDS. All my stuff came crashing down and broke. I cannot even reach them to fix these issues because the warranty has run out, which means I have to pay out of pocket for all this. It has been a huge headache so I do not recommend this company. read more

We just completed a partial remodel of my home, adding an ADA compliant bathroom, upgrading current bath, and replacing stairs/lanai areas in front and back. Contractor Pan stuck to the agreed upon cost and services, with the exception of a fire code required addition of sliding window and moving of an outdoor faucet. Pan is a perfectionist and noticed things that were subpar, ensuring that they were corrected before the final payment. With May's (project manager) guidance, I was able to pick out everything for the bathrooms from tiles to toilets to cabinets and accessories! Ming (the head of construction for my home) was hardworking, respectful, ever so patient, and a skilled master craftsman. I'm amazed at what he and his crew could accomplish! Although you might anticipate a communication problem due to language barrier, Ming speaks English and more complex requests were addressed promptly and pleasantly through May. Just stay involved and the process will go smoothly. Yes, the projected timeline was extended, and yes, most of it was due to building permit delays. If you want quality at a reasonable price and aren't pressed for time, you won't be disappointed with Fu Long Construction. We hired Fu Long Construction at the recommendation of my realtor friend, and they came in at the lowest bid of 4 contractors. The first thing they did was lay protective covering of my floors to change an upstairs bathroom tub to shower. They took 9 days which was longer than projected but did an outstanding job. We hired Fu Long for a kitchen + living room renovation. They did an excellent job, and in a timely manner. Pan Was easy to communicate with and excepting of all our ideas. I wanted a couple arched entryways, bay window, move the original kitchen to another side of the room, drywall and paint. They also moved a wall over to make a room bigger, and installed our appliances and electrical lights, outlets, main box. They made it all happen. I would just say that the bay window turned out a little differently than I imagined it so make sure you let them know the preferred look of everything. I can't remember the exact timeline that it took but it was very efficient. They were transparent with all the pricing as well. All of the subcontractors were friendly. My 2 bathrooms were so long overdue for a renovation. Outdated from the original when my townhouse was built in 1986! Shopped around and got 4 estimates from several companies . I hired Pan at Fu Long construction because he was very prompt in responding to my emails/ texts and gave me a reasonable proposal that was within my budget. Pan is also very professional and accommodating. I had to delay the start of the project by couple weeks so Pan worked with me on the timeline. He also came with me to Home Depot and explained the different tile , paint options. Having. renovations done during Covid was pretty stressful , not to mention all the dust! Pan was made aware of my concerns with Covid safety and keeping my place little less dusty . Lin, his worker , did an incredible job placing plastic on my furniture and hallways to keep my place free from dust flying everywhere,. They also kept their mask on during the whole time. When the project was completed, they cleaned everything from inside to my balcony and porch !! I was so happy when I came from work and I got my house back! Pan"s worker Lin worked really hard 6 days a week! Although Lin didn't speak much English, he was able to use a phone app to communicate with me and /or I'd text Pan , and he'd get back to me right away. Thank you Fu Long Construction! My wife hated the walls in our apartment. The walls were vertical brick from the 70s which looks like old government buildings. We were also looking at expanding our kitchen and installing tile on our bathroom floor. We contacted multiple contractors. Each contractor gave us estimates, timelines, or suggestions that were not to our liking. We had to chase many of them for quotes. I heard about Fu Long from a friend and thought we'd give them a try. Pan was VERY responsive. He got back to us right away and quickly gave us a quote we could work with. He met with us multiple times to pick out paint, materials, and counter tops. It was helpful having someone to walk us though rather than going by ourselves and trying to match colors and tiles. I had been trying to find a contactor to tear down my old deck and rebuild a new one for the last couple of years but the quotes I was getting were frankly ridiculous. I suppose with construction booming in Honolulu a lot of contractors felt they could give "take it or leave it" estimates knowing that if you didn't want to pay it somebody else would. Finally, long time friend who is a realtor recommended that I contact Pan for an estimate. It turned out to be a great idea. Not only was Pan's estimate substantially more reasonable than all the others, they did such a great job I ended up using them to make repairs to the outside of my house, repaint it, and reroof it too. All the work was done to my satisfaction. As expected, a few issues would pop up throughout the couple month process. But Pan was responsive and took care of my concerns to my satisfaction.
