Most of us that are used to eating in Texas or California 99 percent of Mexican restaurants out here in North Carolina do not meet our expectations but i promise after my third time eating here I found it necessary to add my review which I don't do often. The food is great and the meat is not dry or tasteless like you'll see in other places. I have personally had the carne asada fries, the carnitas tacos and the carne asada tacos so those are the only items I know for sure I can recommend at this time given my limited visits. The waiters don't have you waiting forever either and they are attentive at getting you what you need so I would say that's another positive note that a lot of restaurants are lacking these days. read more

We thought this place was okay. I got the chicken burrito and my wife got a shredded beef chimichanga. Both were good. The table salsa was spicy and so was the cheese over my wife's chimichanga. This was disappointing as my wife is a 'wimp' to spicy food (her words, I promise!). There are no mild options here. read more

The food and service just keeps getting worse. Our third visit because we just want to love this place was awful. The waiter was trying so hard to accommodate our table of 4. He never understood what we were trying to order and no matter how well we explained he just couldn't understand us. I could not eat what he brought me and didn't. He then offered to remake my plate and then brought it out boxed up in a bag to take home which I really didn't understand. I paid left it on the table and we will not return. If you're planning on going to this restaurant, ensure that you don't speak Spanish to any of the Staff in front of Samantha because she will ensure to belittle, humiliate and disrespect them as they're attempting to take your order. I was sitting at the bar tonight eating some Tacos and decided I would put an order to-go for my lady. A member of the Staff approached me and asked if I wanted any food to-go (in English) and I gave him my order in Spanish. As he's responding and writing down my order, Samantha walks up to us and says "We speak English here - also don't worry about taking his order, I got it". The lack of decency from this human being is absurd. She then has the nerve to ask me if I'm upset. I told her how wild her behavior was and she apologized to me. Not once did she apologize to that kid. This type of behavior from this individual is a daily occurrence according to that poor kid. Spectacular food but we will NOT be going back. I and my wife arrived at the restaurant at about 1:30 pm and were greeted and quickly seated in a booth, where we met Rosa, our very friendly server. She was very efficient and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself was fairly austere, with not much in the way of decour, but this was more than made up for by the speed of the service, the friendliness of the staff, and the quality and freshness of the food. There are several varieties of tacos available as well as other traditional Mexican style dinners available at reasonable prizes. I had combination of carne asade and beef tongue tacos and both were garnished with fresh red onions and cilantro and there is a small salsa bar available as well. If you have an urge for some great tacos with fresh veggies, please give these youngsters your trade. We plan to back to try their evening meals. read more

I just ordered from this restaurant for the first time. Although my order was pick up, I liked the look of the restaurant and the young man at the counter was polite and friendly. My order was a side of beans, chorizo queso dip, asada tacos and an carne asada burrito . The beans were fresh and tasty, the tacos were great and tasted very authentic and the burrito is for tomorrow but I think it will be great as well. The thing that prompted me to write this review was the chorizo dip which was truly the highlight of my meal. The heat of the chorizo is just right, the creaminess of the queso is perfect, the pico and sauce added on top were a great compliment. All told it was the best queso dip I've ever tasted, it was amazing! I can guarantee that I will order from them again and without a doubt I will always order the chorizo queso dip every time going forward. This place is 2 for 2 5 stars!! Food is authentic as can be. No gringo style frozen stuff here. This food is similar to San Diego and Vegas or Arizona. Service is excellent. Bartender and staff take care of you with cold beer. Cool environment. So far ive had a variety of tacos and tortas. All A1. Best tacos have been carnitas, pastor and birria. I mean- it's not that I wouldn't recommend it, but I've gone twice. I did get a different item each time I went. Both times were for take-out. The first time- I got steak nacho's. Tasted great, however I am not a fan of the Mexican cheese they use. And I def would've ordered extra meat. I eat like 4-5 bites and I'm done in my eating history. No guac, no sour cream on the side with our to-go order. The 2nd time I ordered beef/birrera tacos. (Sure I spelled that wrong). Again, it also had flavor but not happy with how it comes. Unfortunately, the worst "Rice & Beans" I've ever had .. that saddened me greatly! I was really hoping to never going back to the place that starts with "M" & "C".. but I'll tell you this: the beans were really blackish-purple. Unlike any black beans I've had before. No flavor no seasoning. If that wasn't disappointing enough- the rice had veggies in it.. like corn and green beans.. yeah nope for me. So sorry Fuego Azul. I really wanted to be a regular but it's not happening. Inside is very nice. I could've seen having get together there or a small party with family & friends.. but when the 2nd order didn't have the guac & s. cream on the side for the 2nd time, I can't over look everything I said. When I came here last night with my boyfriend we went to the bar to sit. Immediately we were served chips and salsa which were so good and enjoyed them. Considering it was Cinco de Mayo, it was kinda dead and lacked attention. We got to the bar first when a group of three people came to sit right after us and they were being help and getting all of the attention and left us out. We kept asking for drinks since we weren't served drinks nor our food order wasn't being taken after sitting for 15 minutes. The server paid attention more to everyone else but us and made us feel unwelcome. Once we got everything at last the food was so good but my Horchata was depressing and unauthentic as they claim to be authentic restaurant. My boyfriend requested Miami vice but she wast VERY HEAVY handed when it comes to alcohol drinks. I'm pretty sure her working there is going to cost the restaurant to lose money because of her. The place offers a clean open vibe with a friendly team that wants to bring flavor and fun to the area. I have had their nachos (along with other dishes) multiple times. The nachos the melted cheese is authentic and the chicken is seasoned and tender. This is a cantina, so the menu is not a huge. But it covers the bases for things like shrimp tacos, empanadas (get them!), fresh ceviche (also great), and many other shareable dishes. read more

Recently opened restaurant, big shoes to fill with the Mexican restaurant that was there before. Honestly, a sad excuse for Mexican food. Has great potential but needs a menu revamp immediately. Very small menu. I ordered their nachos, which was an appetizer with chicken and barely had any Queso and came with cheddar cheese on the nachos, which would be fine, but just tasted like I made it at home. very sparing on the chips. Salsa is great, chips are really hard because they're double fried and you have to pay 2$ for refills. Which is a joke because we barely had any chips in the basket. Not very much variety at all. The only quesadilla option is on the kids menu. only two types of burritos that are barely burritos. This restaurant has good potential but with mi Casita just down the street with way more variety and free chips and salsa and better quality, this restaurant in its current state won't last long. read more
