I ordered for pickup through the app and the whole process was super easy and convenient! I even got a discount just for downloading the app, which was such a nice bonus. The food was AMAZING!!! Everything tasted homemade and high quality. Highly recommend supporting this family business. Will definitely be coming to this place again.

She was attentive to our drink orders, kept our table clean at all times, and made us feel very welcome. Our group shared several different dishes, and everything was delicious. The green pozole was one of my favorites full of flavor and perfectly prepared. We truly enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning. Highly recommend both the food and the outstanding service! We were staying near LAX and I didn't want to drive too far, so we stumbled upon this Mexican spot in the cutest little downtown area ever. El Segundo, you are THAT b*tch! We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday and were seated immediately (thank goodness). Our server was super duper friendly and even had multiple conversations with us throughout the meal, sharing anecdotes and talking to my tattoo artist friend about getting a tat from her LOL. We quickly ordered some chips and queso (not free) and were blown away by how creamy and tasty the queso was. The tortas were also delicious and easy to scoop a lot of cheese on to. On to the menu, they had a good variety of Mexican dishes, but the price point, man. I thought $4-5 a taco at Barrio Queen in Arizona was steep, but this place charged $7-8 for a single small taco. I would've been okay with any menu item since it's Mexican and nothing under that cuisine could be bad, but seeing each enchilada over $30, made me steer clear of the main entree dishes. I also knew I wanted to try fish tacos, so I just opted for one fish taco and one grilled taco, with a side of mashed black beans. Crazy that some black beans also were at least $5. The fish taco was nicely battered and the guacamole was ripe and creamy, but the grilled chicken taco was nothing spectacular. There was also cauliflower tacos and beef brisket tacos ordered among us. My friend who ordered the beef brisket taco rated it 7.5/10, whereas the cauliflower tacos were rated 9/10. The food also took at least 20 minutes to arrive at the table. Both sauces my tacos came with were extremely spicy so I didn't even touch those. My friends enjoyed their meals, and the side of green rice two of them got was rather tasty. Overall, our server was the best part of the experience. She really ate DOWN, whereas our food and the price point did not.

There were a few things that really stood out and made me very happy that I gave it a try. First, the red sauce in the salsa bar: very legit! Spicy, but very flavorful! I also tried the green chili/tomatillo sauce, which was also very good and good counter point to the unctuous marinated chicken. And they don't go cheap on the meat. Secondly, the corn tortillas were made in house and were hefty! Very tasty and held together where other tacos need two of the thin store-bought variety to have a hope to stand together. Very good. If I had the tiniest critique, I would say to add a tiny bit more salt to them, but I have a theory why they may go scant on it, and I respect that. Third, the beans and rice: The beans were very simple, but simply good. It takes a lot of guts to make and serve simple pinto beans boiled with salt. I know! What a concept! But simply delicious, and made to complement the rest of the food, and not distract from it. It takes a lot of confidence in my opinion for a restaurant to have such faith in their food to leave some that should be simple, simple. The same was true for the rice: simply well made, not over done with a ton of ingredients. It was well made: the individual grains didn't stick together. And it was unctuous without being overbearing. If I had to guess, I would say that they used broth and chicken fat. Simply good, and a complement to rest of the meal. Now to my theory. It makes sense that the masa would be light on the salt because it is the same masa that they use for pupusas, and the filling for pupusas (I just like that word) is savory and well seasoned. I'll let you now next time I got back and try the PUPUSAS! ;)

I usually baseline judge a Mexican spot on their salsas and their carne asada. Salsas are not great. I tried all of them and none of them stood out. Their green sauce is over blended and just doesn't taste great. Asada wasn't the best quality and had gristle. Lengua was kind of shredded into pieces and by the end of the taco I didn't really want to keep eating it. Chicken tasted like it was seasoned with a ramen packet or something just odd seasoning.

Taco Tuesday is always packed, but the staff does an impressive job keeping things moving. The process is simple--you get your ticket and the team serving the tacos does most of the heavy lifting. Even with the crowds, service has consistently been fast, efficient, and attentive. The food is very good, and the energy is always lively. My most recent visit was no different. Everything ran smoothly, the tacos were great, and our servers stayed on top of things throughout the meal. The only odd part of the evening happened as we were getting ready to leave. I stopped by the bar and asked the bartender for a cup of ice. He acknowledged me but never came back with it. While I was waiting, another guest next to me mentioned he was also having trouble getting service at the bar, while other customers appeared to be getting helped. I don't know the circumstances and don't want to make assumptions about why that happened, but it definitely felt strange. After waiting several minutes, I went back to my original server and she had the ice for me in about a minute, which reinforced my overall impression that the service team is generally very attentive. I don't like pretentious bartenders and I know their job is busy as heck. That again felt weird. Despite that one awkward interaction, the overall experience was excellent. Great tacos, a fun atmosphere, and a staff that usually does a fantastic job handling the Taco Tuesday rush. I'll definitely be back.

I ended up getting the breakfast burrito without meat, which was basically potatoes , eggs and cheese. Simple, but still satisfying. The standout for me was definitely the salsa which was really flavorful and paired perfectly with the chips, which were fresh and delicious. I tried the spicy salsa option as well but it wasn't spicy at all. Pretty good spot considering the location.
