Had 10 people coming over and no time to cook, so I decided to try catering from Chronic Tacos for the first time. I ordered the Taco Deluxe Bar with carnitas and chicken. The chicken was the standout. Really flavorful, not dry, just genuinely good. The carnitas were solid too, just not as memorable. It came with a variety of salsas and toppings, which made it easy for everyone to build their own tacos without me having to do much. I also added Spanish rice and refried beans. The rice was fine, just a little underwhelming compared to everything else (hence the four star review). . The refried beans were really good. A few people went back for seconds. I wasn't sure if it would be enough food, but there was more than plenty. We had leftovers and people even took some home. Ordering online was easy, pickup was smooth, and the staff was polite. Overall, just a really easy, stress-free option that ended up being better than I expected. I'd definitely order from them again. read more

So sorry I posted my horrible review of chronic tacos underneath a different restaurant so my apologies because I have never eaten there, that was Fuego cravings. I'm sure it's fine but as for chronic tacos, it was the worst cold burrito I ever had in my life.. a $16 burrito should not come out cold with cold meat, I swear I got the carne Asada, and as it fell out of the burrito that was not wrapped properly, it looked like cold hamburger meat that had been refrigerated and not reheated, and it tasted the same way. The rice was cold, the beans were not even room temperature and if they can't get the beans and the rice, correct, what does that tell you about the rest of the food there train your people so they know how to prepare a burrito the flour tortilla was not even warm, it looked and tasted like it just came out of a plastic bag, because it did just come out of the plastic bag sitting on the prep area. There are so many good Mexican places to order from, I suggest you go to one of those because this place is not one of them. Even Taco Bell tasted better than this they didn't even have red sauce. And you would think that the management would oversee what their staff is doing and how they are preparing food, who sends out cold food? Especially cold rice, maybe they just forgot to turn on their steam tables, because everything was cold, I know the lettuce and the onions and the pico de gallo need to be cold but everything else needs to be warm, and it wasn't even room temperature. So save your money don't come here, because the food is not worth it. It was a very disappointing experience, so just warning my Mexican food loving friends, don't come here, the food is not up to par, and neither is the prep. And talk about lack of customer service, I just left the stuff up there, told them it wasn't good, and just left and I will never be back too many other good places to spend your money at. Unless of course you want a cold burrito, and a disappointing experience, then be my guest. A word of warning to the wise. I wish I could've given it a -3, but it doesn't allow for that. So if you take the time to read this, this is what you can improve, make sure the food is heated through before you wrap it up and throw it on a tray come on now, maybe you eat cold rice and beans at home but most people do not. read more

They were gone for a while, but they are back!!! My favorite is the carnitas taco, but they have others too, like this evening I had two carnitas and one pastor. The flavor in the carnitas taco reminds my childhood in Colonia del Valle, México city. The venues is nice, clean and you are not standing outside in the road. The service is from a counter, but the servers are polite and kind. Also they have to go service, while I was there I noticed many pickers were taking the orders from calls outside. Try them. The service here was friendly. The prices are a tad high for Mexican food / tacos where there's so many alternate non-chain/franchise restaurants that serve fresh tacos and often give free tortilla chips too. So, this is a known quality much like Chipotle. I just feel the portions could be bigger or price tag could be smaller when comparing Chronic Tacos to their peers. read more

We ordered 2 Bowls, consisting Spanish rice, refried beans, chicken, lettuce, cheese, topped off with sour cream and green salsa and some kind of red/sour cream mild sauce( (very tasty), the combo come with a drink and chips and salsa! The Green salsa is soooo good! Their soda machine was running low but the lady with the red highlights and red camo pants let us swap it out for a bottled soda! Literally just left this place because there's only one person that is working and she has not changed her gloves. She is making the food then taking the orders on the register without washing her hands or changing her gloves in between. In addition, she is touching multiple surfaces the refrigerator, the cash register, the food and she keeps going in the back in the kitchen. I love that you pick out the ingredients for your burrito. There is just no weird surprises. All the choices are good quality, and good taste! The previous taco place at this location was Freebird World Burrito, and they had a little pump with barbeque sauce, so now I am spoiled, and like to add a little bbq sauce to my burrito, so, I bring a little bbq sauce to add to the burrito. I get the smaller burrito, and I am still stuffed when I leave! I plan to come back many times! Yummy, low cost, and pretty healthy! The only problem I have had there was they were out of the normal coke in the drink fountain.. and they could not put in a new coke container of the coke syrup .... so, i had to choose something else. Wow. Wow. Wow. Ate at this place a month or so ago and was impressed with the food but went back again and dang has this place gone down hill fast. I come back at 4:15pm on a Friday. First off, I order the California burrito. The girl working there says they're out of french fries but can do tater tots instead. I say fine and she starts to make the burrito. Then she tells me that they're out of cheese but they can put queso on it instead. I agree to that as well. I also order two tacos-- a shrimp and barbacoa, but when I go to add stuff to the tacos, the lettuce was at the very bottom of the lettuce bin and it was wilted and watery. I ask if they can replace the lettuce and they say they can't because guess what? They're out of lettuce too. So there's no shredded cheese and no lettuce. It's literally four little shrimp on a tortilla. So they go on to explain that they haven't had a shipment in a while. I ask why no one went to Ralphs which is 600 feet away to replace the stuff they don't have. Every restaurant I worked at in my youth, this is what the managers did if we ran out of something. They shrug. I mean, you're out of three things needed to make most of your menu items but no one seemed to care. I don't want that lettuce so I tell them just to refund me the order. I had already drank my drink so I said to just charge me for a new drink and to refund the entire first purchase. Then they tell me they can't. Only a manager can process a refund and she left at 4pm and I'll have to come back to get a refund on another day when there's a manager there. Seriously? You left your restaurant with a bunch of items unavailable, with two people who can't even process a refund and expect to not just inconvenience your customers the first time when they walk in and find out you haven't restocked, but then again when they have to come back to get a refund? Hrm. So then, since I have to come back, I ask the guy working to just write down on a piece of paper that he was here and I asked for a refund and didn't take the food. He writes down the items I ordered on a slip of paper and then doesn't give it to me. He says he's going to leave it for the manager. I said, no, I want to take something from him with me so that when I bring this receipt back in for the refund, the manager knows I didn't take the food and he tells me my receipt is good enough. I honestly felt sorry for the two people working there. They clearly aren't trained well enough to be there alone if the customer has to explain to them how to handle it. And they were friendly but they should have told me everything they were out of before I ordered. There's no reason you should be there for ten minutes waiting for food just to find out they're out of lettuce. So I left and now I will have to go back again to get a refund. This place isn't going to be in business long if this keeps up and frankly, if they can't do better, they can blame themselves. read more

Look it's chronic tacos, they're a chain! Manage your expectations folks! I used to grab some tacos at the Redondo Beach location, but I believe that one shut down a while ago! I remember missing the potatoe tacos when the establishment was no longer accessible! It had been so long and though Chronic Tacos is a chain and I could've easily have gone to a different location I'm not typically a chain food eater so when this location conveniently opened up, I thought why not refresh my memory! 2024: Potatoe tacos, delicious!!! I add melted cheese, cilantro, and pico and sour cream. (Sauces on the side please!) The shrimp taco was also bomb, similar toppings as previously stated but with cabbage! The mahi-mahi tacos def skipping out on as the fish was seasoned but STILL has a fishy smell! No bueno! A dear friend had pastor and seemed to dig it. I prefer the crunchy shell but I always request they make them fresh because they're ROCK HARD if they've been sitting out for more than 15 minutes! Ordered online & said it would be ready in 15 minutes. We got to the restaurant 3 minutes early & waited an hour in person. Completely ridiculous. If I hadn't already paid & knew it would be a hassle to get a refund, I'd have cancelled the order & left. No way I'd ever come back here even though it's close to my house. The surf and turf burrito was solid! The shrimp was fresh and the asada was well marinated. I also liked the sauces. I think this place is a good option if you are in the area but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to try it. The churros were a bit disappointing very hard. This massive creation was packed with carne asada, shrimp, Spanish rice, black beans, shredded cheese, and topped with tangy Baja sauce and a squeeze of lime. I also asked for fajita veggies to be added, which elevated it even more. Every bite was satisfying and delicious. The service was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. This review is long overdue. I came here a few weeks ago and the food is soo good. I had something called a bowl -rito. Which mine consisted of fresh rice and beans. I got the carne asado which was really good and the meat was very tender and flavorful. I also added pico de Gallo and salsa. The staff here are all really cool and very helpful. Bring your own drinks unless you like Sugar Free soda. So I went twice this week and the soda machine wasn't working properly and the employees weren't able to fix the issue. All of the flavors were either unavailable or the few that were only had sugar free flavors. Not ideal! At least the food was tasty as always. We tried this place out for the first time and felt there was a lot of room for improvement. First, the place was empty so we thought our food would be amazing since it wasn't busy, but it wasn't good. First, the taco shells were raw. They were barely warmed up prior to the meat being placed inside, so it tasted like tortillas right out the package. Secondly, the carne asada meat had lots of fatty parts on it which was disappointing. The flavor of the meat was good, it was just the toughness and fatty parts that was disappointing. My husband had the fried shrimp taco which he enjoyed overall. All in all, we've been looking forward to trying this place since it's close to our home, but now that we've tried it we may not dine again. This was the worst burrito I ever had, an uncooked, flour tortilla, cold, and all the ingredients cold. The side of rice was barely room, temperature, and the same with the beans, which tasted like they were next to the fish in the walk-in, because like residue of fish., I didn't finish eating it three bites was enough, I don't like cold food, come on now who eats cold food, who eats cold Mexican food? Sure not anyone that I know, and their staff not be trained to know better? This was horrible and I don't like spending $15 plus change, for a cold burrito. How's that for a review? Don't go here, is not regular Mexican food that is served nice and hot, that flower tortilla came right package out of plastic bag. It wasn't even warm, don't eat here. It was terrible and I know Mexican food, if the beans and rice are not good, you can tell the whole restaurant menu will not be good. I wish I could give it a -5 for the review, but unfortunately that option does not exist. there are so many other Mexican places to eat rather than spending your money here because this was a failed attempt at Mexican food.
