I joined this gym in November of 2021, I originally joined because after speaking to one of the owners JC, he ensured me the gym was a dog friendly atmosphere. I have stayed all this time because it became more than a space to train and hang with my dog, this gym connects you to an amazing community filled with so many great athletes. Powerlifters, weight loss coaches, booty building coaches or just generic training athletes. This gym has so much to offer, there are tons of squat racks in the powerlifting room and an incredible amount of machines in the body building room you will not find in commercial gyms. There are foam rollers left and right and I've never had an issue with anything with this gym. One of the owners Gus is pretty amazing at fixing things so you will never really see a machine out of order for any longer than a few short days. There's a vending machine in both rooms, one is for drinks like Gatorade's, pre workout cans and water. The other is filled with protein snacks, bio freeze patches and mini deodorants! These change periodically, there is an outside vendor that comes in to restock and change what these vending machines offer. So much variety! We love. If you are in the area it is worth a day pass for sure, these are purchased ahead of time as someone from staff will need to coordinate to let you in as this gym gives all members a personal key fob to enter. I like that it's 24/7 access and I can go at any time and usually see someone I know and like lifting around. I do notice that some things like social media have gotten outsourced and sometimes they miss the mark. If there's an area of improvement, I would definitely suggest making sure all members feel welcome and included both in the gym as well as online, and that it doesn't feel like a lil high school clique. read more

TLDR Pros: - Great gym community (everyone is really nice and there are no creepy members!!) - 24/7 access - Clean space - Great variety of equipment Cons: - I think the air quality could be better. There are a couple of fans you can turn on and are usually running in the summer. The door is usually propped open to help with circulation. But the entrance is facing a main road and sometimes I've smelled car exhaust while breathing deeply. There is an AC, but for more than half the time I've worked out here, the door has been open. It's definitely not the worst air quality, but if you're working out to be healthy, it's also important to breathe clean air. Misc - No showers (I didn't think this was an issue, but just making a note for anyone who's hoping for a shower) Long version: I joined Fuerza last summer after a year at a commercial gym. I was struggling to make progress in my fitness journey due to the lack of equipment accessibility that gym. I typically work out in the mornings and 99% of the time never had any issues using what I needed at Fuerza. I was also almost always able to follow my workout plans in order without having to substitute exercises. As a result, I made noticeable progress and hit several PRs at Fuerza. I recently switched to another gym that was a better fit (one that offers a variety of classes I can take on my rest days), but there's so much I love about this place. I'm especially thankful for the safe sanctuary it is. I've had some uncomfortable encounters with guys at my previous gym. I never had that experience at all during my time at Fuerza. No creepy or judgy vibes. People do their own thing, but they will help you if you need and ask! Once, I overheard one member walk over to another guy lifting solo to hype him up. He seemed to be struggling to do either a chest or shoulder press. Afterward, the guy who was pressing goes, "Thanks bro! I needed that." It's one of the most wholesome things I've ever witnessed. The owners, JC and Gus, prioritize creating a good gym community. Fuerza is a welcoming place no matter where you are in your fitness journey. Everyone is there to better themselves, and it's nice to be around people who radiate that kind of focus and energy. Fuerza has two sections: one for powerlifting and one for bodybuilding. I mostly used the bodybuilding section but sometimes ventured into the powerlifting room to use the barbells. The variety of equipment is pretty solid in both areas. I'm especially fond of the chest supported t-bar row machine in the body building room. Cardio equipment, however, is a bit limited: 2 stair masters, 2 treadmills and 2 bikes. I've never seen all of them occupied at the same time, but that might be different during peak hours. In the PL room, there are a lot of deadlift platforms, squat racks and combo racks. Going back to the community: I love how the gym is supportive of members' endeavors. One of them is a massage therapist (Christina, who runs Sedgwick Bodywork) who has a space inside the gym. I haven't worked with her but have heard good things. And it's just nice to have access to that kind of service accessible on site since it's helpful for recovery. A couple of months ago, another member with experience in bodybuilding and powerlifting launched a sportswear line called Astro Elites. (It's actually pretty functional stuff and looks nice!) There might be more, but those are the two that come to mind immediately. There are also a bunch of trainers (including JC and Gus) if you want personal training. My main reason for docking a star off is because I'm a bit concerned about air quality. More than half the time I was at Fuerza, the door was open. And while that definitely helps with circulation, I sometimes felt uncomfortable smelling some exhaust from the cars driving on Crenshaw, which is a main road. Still, it's probably better to leave the door open (or at least open it every once in awhile) than to keep it closed all the time. Overall, my experience with Fuerza has been positive. It was hard to switch because it's such a good gym with great members, but I'm sure I'll be back to visit. I highly recommend Fuerza to anyone that may be looking for a good local gym with a more intimate feel. Fuerza is family! I don't know what to say about this spot other than I've never felt more comfortable at a gym. As a bodybuilder going into powerlifting I was nervous to go but the minute I stepped through the door I knew I'd found my gym! I've made friends with practically every athlete there, from power lifting titans and Olympic lifting juggernauts, to bodybuilding and general fitness peeps. Everyone is friendly and kind. They'll support you, they'll cheer for you, they'll celebrate with you and commiserate with you if you fail a lift. Life is good at places like this and the community experience is just as important as the equipment when it comes to gyms for me. I won't be looking for another gym as long as this place and its people exist. Welcoming for new lifters - even new gym goers. The owners are attentive and are also true lifters at heart. Coming from an overly crowded commercial gym, I could not possibly be any happier at Fuerza. The atmosphere is excellent and the gym is very well equipped and clean. I also have the pleasure of training with one of the owners, and head coach, JC who is not only incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, but also very patient and kind. It is apparent from the very first training session that JC genuinely wants to see you reach your goals, and will absolutely go out of his way to help you get there. In my case, this included helping me come up with a simple but effective meal plan that I am able to easily stick to despite my hectic work schedule. Recently joined and as I struggle with the settings of a machine, everyone is quick to lend a hand on how it works. Take aways that may concern you: It's a little stuffy, early mornings and late a night sessions are really fresh but the AC doesn't seem to kick on as strong as commercial gyms during the mid day. Parking is shared with a coin laundry, be mindful of leaving valuable articles exposed, Cardio machine: only 2 treadmill are available and 2 stair masters . Usually busy for long period of times. He explains how the movements should be done and why this movement helps you in your day to day lives he breaks it to a science. He's there right with you and doesn't stray away motivating and helpful he sits with you and asks what's your goal and checks in with you outside the gym on how you're feeling at least once a week or so. I've felt much stronger and made gains I never thought I'd make. Although I still need to work on my diet that's more on me than anything else and he lets me know I won't get to where I want if I'm not consistent and as clean as I can be. Best gym I've been to in LA. Not overcrowded, TOP TIER Powerlifter gym and the Bodybuilding room is stacked with Arsenal Strength equipment. The environment is very uplifting and makes you want to come in and be a stronger version of yourself. There is also a meal prep guy who stops buy and loads the in-gym fridge with customers weekly orders AND single meals for anyone to buy and take with you after a workout.
