Four of us bought a filet and either chicken or shrimp. One of the plates had 9 pieces of steak on it. Another person in our party actually took home more steak than I got. We had the seared ahi tuna appetizer- it was okay. Being from Hawaii I am a bit picky about my raw fish. It wa cut a tad too large and the searing tasted ho hum. The spicy volcano sushi roll was okay. Normally I don't need any soy sauce or wasabi because I think it masks the flavors of the sushi. But I need to use some in theirs because it was a bit bland, it was okay mind you. My hubby says I am a bit snobby - he maybe right. I don't give bad ratings over little things and have made quite a few ratings. But I went to lunch today and put my order in at 1:55. Place was almost empty. Was served my drink and salad quickly. The seating was filling and many people who came in after us were served their food. At 2:30 no food and no word so I went to the front desk and said I wanted to pay for teas and soup and salad and leave. The "manager" acted like he wasn't going to let us leave. The waitress came up and said the were just then starting to cook our food. And he said "no charge". No apologies, nothing. I do not recommend this place. We have been to this restaurant several times in the past. Usually it's pretty good. This time, not as good. Our server was nice but not very knowledgeable about the menu. The food tasted ok, but not cooked the best. My scallops were a little scorched instead of browned. The salad was swimming in the ginger dressing. The food temperature was warm but not good and hot. She answered our questions like a professional and when she didn't know she made sure to ask. Today, 8/21/19 at approximately 11:00 am myself and a friend attempted to have lunch. I am highly allergic to shellfish and informed the hostess. She told us to tell the waitress. As I was trying to inform the waitress, the hostess continued to interrupt and insisted that I be seated in an unsafe location. I was really confused on her reaction because I have eaten here numerous times in the past and it was never an issue. In addition, the Hostess made sure we weren't moved. She kept saying ask the waitress and we had to wait till everyone was seated. When a woman and her two children attempted to switch with us before they even sat down she said "no the table has to be full". I asked the hostess her name so I could make a formal complaint since she was so rude but she refused to provide that information. As we were leaving the manager finally attempted to intervene. He offered another grill to ourselves or a table. But I have sat at the grill with no issues until today. The food is not as good as the food at the grill plus half the experience is watching them cook. Offering us something as we leave after we said we were making a complaint doesn't make a good lunch experience. I personally will never go back. I suggest if you have a food allergy stay away. I guess they don't need the money. That explains their rating! Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

We got several rolls and we were pleased with all of them. I did think it was slightly overpriced, but with the paucity of sushi in this area, I could have given them my kidney in exchange for some rolls. Idk. Our hibachi boy started off really strong with the everlasting and universally beloved oil/fire trick, raising our expectations. As our faces were lit by the fire's glow, our brains most assuredly said "Wow, this will be a meal we'll never forget." Once the hibachi gaucho started slicing and dicing, he offered a somewhat pitchy cover of "We Are Young" by Fun. A really great song, furthering our hope for a good time. Like turning off a switch, our little hibachi muchacho began to be pretty un-fun. His dedication to fine culinary work far outweighed his concern for our happiness. I think our entire group was really excited to see the classic onion train trick, as well as more egg-centered tricks (catching it in his cap, audience participation, etc.) but none were to be found. I once had a hibachi baby who served the entire meal behind his back, and I have dreamed of that meal ever since. Sadly if I had left a review two years ago or even last year I would have gave it 5 stars. However, over the past few months I have slowly watch my favorite place implode. Take today for example I was there with a friend. We both ordered medium rare steaks, and both steaks come out so over done that I would even consider them well done. They would have been close to burnt. Not only was the steaks way over done, they aren't even close to warm. I would have been more understanding if they were pack but they weren't there were only a handful of tables besides ours and just a hand full of people at the grill. This used to be my favorite place to eat but sadly unless something changes I will not be going back. No one wants to pay for food that isn't going to come out warm and the way you want it. I'm pretty easy going when it comes to my steak I don't normally complain as long as it's in the ballpark. Again I digress we both ordered a medium well steak and they both came out closed to burnt, not even close to what we ordered. Sukiyaki steak was very good and tender (but overpriced), and the sushi was delicious, but it did taste a little different than back home in Tulsa. We asked for jalapeños in one of the rolls and didn't get it, it was a little loud but overall a good meal. Wow! What a wild ride! Facilities-wise, they keep it fairly dark. The restrooms are 2-seaters, & the decor is black, so it looks kinda dark in there. But once I could figure out how to work the stall door (it's a little different than most others), I was fine. I also liked the sink, it was very pretty. I was a little concerned I wouldn't have much of a variety of food (being the only vegetarian in the group), so I ordered 2 appetizers--the aged tofu & the spring rolls. I shared them, but I was still full by the end of the evening. The spring rolls came with some sweet & sour sauce, which was also good for dipping the tofu. Later, they gave us our own small condiment containers & filled them with "yum yum sauce". The yum yum sauce sure lived up to its name! It was also good tofu dip, & could be poured on the rice & grilled veggies that came later. Our entertainment as we waited for our "main courses" was priceless! The guy had these spatulas that lit up on the ends with red & blue lights. He also made a "veggie island" surrounding an onion volcano--pretty. He made an "egg slide" by oiling the back of a spatula & cracking the eggs on top, so we could watch them slide--cute. He also put out the fire with a squirt toy that looked like a peeing fireman--hilarious! In another "act", he tossed pieces of the fried egg into our mouths, & it was fun watching everyone in our group react to the airborne food. Five of the 8 people in our group caught it in their mouths the first time--including my mom, who is usually more reserved. I was impressed! Being in Searcy, I was skeptical about ordering raw sushi since, more than likely, the fish had been frozen for who knows how long (if you could prove otherwise, I'd give the raw sushi a go!)So, I opted for the chicken and vegetable tempura. On suggestion of my friend, I ordered fried rice in place of my white rice. I'd recommend doing so and eating the rice with the yum yum sauce. The California roll was nothing special. The tempura was a 2/5 for me. I was not a fan of the fried mushroom and what I think was a sweet potato/root did not leave a good taste in my mouth. The chicken did not seem fresh- it actually felt like those frozen ready-cooked grilled chicken strips that you can buy at the grocery. Maybe next time I'll stick to hibachi just to be sure of the freshness. They all seemed to be having a good time. read more

I just ate there tonight....found a hair in my salad. I asked a waitress if I could speak to a manager but one never bothered to come over. I went to the car but was really upset so went back in to talk to the manager. The hostess and manager tried to say it was a piece of plastic (like I wouldn't know what a hair looks like!). I told them, "No, it was a hair". They then tried to pass the buck by saying it must have fallen off of someone else. In the end, they offered no resolution and made themselves look ignorant.
