We came here the other night to celebrate my birthday and had a great time. The place was empty on a Thursday night but I'm sure it gets busy on the weekends. Service was fantastic and we appreciated the thoughtfulness like bringing a bowl of ice for our toddler to cool down her soup. We all enjoyed our food. I got the filet and shrimp and everything was perfectly cooked. I also upgraded to the fried rice which was delicious. It was nice that the food came with yakisoba too for a variety of carbs. My friend & I came here. We sat at the tepanyaki area, but we also ordered fried oyster and shimp tempura roll. Both were not satisfying. The oyster was dead-dead, meaning overfried-dry-tasteless. The shrimp tempura roll was too sweet with its sauce, barely could taste the tempura. Tepanyaki was good experience, but it could be much better. Based on my observation, many chef seems lacking of energy, they need to be more excited and speak up since the restaurant is loud already, plus the sounds of the exhaust fan. If they elevated their energy level, excitement, and improve their own skills to do much more, certainly, this restaurant can be the favorite place to go for many people. Thankfully, the taste of the food from tepanyaki was great. That saved my day! It was pretty entertaining, but the spirit was up and down. Came here with my family of 4 including two young children to celebrate some great news my family had received. Our kids are autistic and are accustomed to family restaurants but teppanyaki was something totally new for them. We weren't sure how it was going to go, but we needn't have worried because the kids LOVED the show put on by the employee wearing a Donald Duck button but more importantly they loved the food. Wow, what a disappointing experience from start to finish. We arrived right as dinner service began and were the first customers there. We ordered hibachi combinations and calamari as a starter. Unfortunately, the calamari was so rubbery it felt like chewing on an old car tire--completely inedible. We politely informed the waiter, who offered to bring us a replacement. When the new plate arrived, it tasted just as bad as the first one. Trying to be polite, we told him, "It's better than before," even though it really wasn't. To our shock, we overheard him in the kitchen telling the chef, "It's okay," followed by a loud laugh. Then we heard him say, "It's better than before," and they all laughed again. It was clear they didn't take our feedback seriously and had simply served us the same poorly cooked, frozen calamari. We came here for our birthday celebrations tonight and ordered a variety of entrees - filet mignon with scallops, hibachi chicken, salmon and calamari, New York steak with chicken. Every type of food was done perfectly by Sang! The "soup" is pretty bland (just water with a piece of mushroom, a few pieces of noodles and some green onions), but the salad was delicious and crisp with a ginger miso vinaigrette and sautéed mixed vegetables(onions, zucchini, broccoli and mushrooms) are always cooked well and tasty. They no longer serve an appetizer with shrimp and fried rice is now an extra charge of $4.50 each, though the chef was kind enough to give us a "sample" of it. :) Instead, the meals also come with a small portion of yakisoba noodles. We all greatly enjoyed our meals and my mom who is a great cook, frequently complimented the chef! I highly recommend this place. read more

We have been here a couple of times and similar to other Teppanyaki restaurants. When you are driving to this, be prepared that the turn comes up pretty fast. For those who have not been to one of these restaurants, you are seated around a grill (and may be seated with others if crowded). You order your drinks and food, there are some appetizers, then the chef will come up. The first courses are miso soup and salad. They are both small and OK. The chefs are funny and had different routines. Some classics include the big flame at the start and then the onion tower--but they have other antics that make it entertaining. The food is very good. I ordered the 5 oz. filet with shrimp, but also tried the chicken. Make sure you do the upgrade to the fried rice--it is really tasty. Both of the proteins were excellent--the steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and the shrimps were seasoned well. They also did a good job with the chicken (cooked, but still moist). The price point is ridiculous. Way over priced. Every single place I've been to gives you the fried rice option with your meal. These guys charge extra if you want fried rice. Who goes to Teppanyaki and doesn't want fried rice? The cook was very accommodative and made a separate gluten free meal for my wife at no extra charge. This bumped it up to a 3rd star. stopped by for lunch to try their Gourmet Homemade Burger starting at $6.99. the burgers are decent! the Fuji Burger and Sushi bar is in the old sushi bar section and is open for lunch. the teppanyaki steak house opens for dinner. i ordered the bacon cheeseburger for $8.25 and made it a meal to include fries and a drink for an additional $4.75. the patty was 1/3 lb as promised. tomatoes and lettuce were fresh. the slice of red onion was a bit thick for my taste. generous serving of bacon. the bun held up to the high stack burger. the fries were very crispy and hot out of the fryer. i think it's the "coated" french fries i like those. i asked for a coke but got pepsi instead; that's ok. when i walked in the ex-sushi bar area was dark even if the Open sign was on. i finally called their number and the owner came out, turned on the lights and took my order. and yes, they are open for lunch for burgers. it's worth a stop. read more

Years ago, Susumu was one of our frequently visited restaurants. We had not been there for 10-15 years. Friday night we had a birthday celebration and there were nine of us at Fuji Teppanyaki. PLUS, I expected the prices to have skyrocketed since our earlier visits, but they were very affordable. I had the combo NY steak and chicken for I think $38. Keep in mind this includes very generous portions of rice, vegetables along with the 5 oz. chicken and 5 oz. NY steak. Each and every person in our party took home about half of their meal. All in price (meal, appetizers {edamame, gyoza, spicy tuna jalapeno poppers}, drinks {at least 2 each} AND TIP = $67 per person. It was decently busy and we didn't wait long for our chef. The noodles and steak are really good as well as the salad. It was our first time and since there's no Benihana's here it was very comparable. Fried rice is $4.50 extra, I got no rice and extra veggies but enjoyed the noodles a lot and those are included in the dinner.
