I am incredibly sad to say that I can no longer recommend this restaurant. During a previous visit, I actually ended up with food poisoning from meat that was not fully cooked. Despite that, I decided to give them another chance, but my most recent experience was the absolute last straw. This time around, the food was okay at best and the service was mediocre. The staff let our dirty dishes pile up and sit on the table for a long time before clearing them. When the bill came, we noticed they had already automatically included the tip in the total cost of the meal. Because the gratuity was already paid, we obviously didn't add an additional tip. As we were paying, the woman checking us out started loudly shouting, "No tip! No tip for three people!" in front of the entire restaurant. To make matters worse, the staff then started making comments about my friends in Chinese right in front of us. It was incredibly hurtful, uncalled for, and completely unprofessional. Well here's the deal. This is an "all you can eat" place, which I usually avoid. But you know what? It is really a great deal especially if you eat sashimi. The slices are generous but I confess I detected that the fish was still a little frozen. I also had to ask for wasabi, which was curious. The service was lightning quick. They were also quite busy on a Wednesday (6pm), so it was like eating in a train station. They don't serve alcohol but, in this instance, it was a good thing. Who doesn't love sushi. While I prefer to make my own, sometimes I want a lazy meal where someone else does the work. So I paid a visit to the Fuji Sushi on Beach Blvd and Hodges. Food--5/10. I hate giving bad reviews so I'm being a bit generous here and hoping maybe it was just an off day but I was thoroughly unimpressed. I started with an avocado roll. That this was Likely the best thing I tried and it was still not very good speaks volumes. There was so mu ch rice and so little avocado it was a miss. It went downhill from there. The tempura vegetables were okay, but it wasn't very fresh. Nor was the gyozas or the shrimp tempura. None of them were served with sauce and they didn't come back for over 15 minutes so I ate them without it eventually to avoid them being any colder. Since they charge you for uneaten food I didn't want to be stuck eating it in any worse condition. I also got the hibachi chicken and fried rice. The rice was hard and crunchy, the chicken was dry. Again no sauce provided. Neither ginger dressing of yum yum sauce. At this point I was utterly disappointed and decided to cut my losses and leave. Service--2/10. When the servers stopped by they were polite enough but they hardly ever came by and they really weren't that busy. They had a weird way for ordering dishes and don't explain their particular process well but complained at me when I don't do it right. Atmosphere--6/10. The service and food was horrible. The lady or manager lady was loud and just pointed at us where to sit ..did not walk us over. Then she only let us have one menu I asked for more she yelled one per table. ( I should have left then) The raw sushi rolls were not cold and fresh the rice was HOT and it made the fish lukewarm and it was over all not tasteful at all. None of it came with ginger or wasabi I had to ask for it and they were mad to have to bring me some. All the employees had very unhappy faces. We never got refills on drinks either. I haven't been here in a few months, but I decided to stop by for lunch for the first time since November. I noticed the price went up from $12.99 to $15.99, which honestly I don't mind because that's pretty standard for places like this now. What I do mind is the service. I ordered my food, and multiple tables that came in after me got their food before I did. My boyfriend and I were sitting there for about 15-20 minutes just watching everyone else get served while we were still waiting. When our food finally came out, some of the hot items were literally cold. On top of that, we had already finished our drinks while waiting, and no one came to check on us. We even left the cups at the edge of the table to hint we needed refills, and when we finally called someone over, they just held up a finger like "one second" and never came back. No refills, no check-ins, nothing. I was actually planning to order more food, but no one ever came back to our table. Meanwhile, they kept going to other tables around us. At that point, I just got up to go pay. Not a single person checked on us the entire time no greeting, no follow-up, nothing. They literally just took the order I had already written down and that was it. I don't like being the person who doesn't tip, but after sitting there for about 35 minutes with no service and asking for a refill that never came... what am I tipping for? When I went to pay, the woman at the front said, "No tip?" which already felt rude. I said "excuse me?" and she repeated it and then asked why I even came there. I told her the service wasn't good, and she started yelling, telling me not to come back, raising her voice at me and my boyfriend as we were leaving. Overall, really bad experience. If you want poor service and cold food, then sure go here. Otherwise, you're honestly better off going to somewhere like Fushimi Grill & Modern Buffet they have better food, better service, and you'll probably spend less too. read more

Fuji Sushi has become my go-to spot for all you can eat sushi in Jacksonville. The food always comes out really fast, and everything is consistently fresh and delicious. They have a great variety of rolls, appetizers, and hot dishes. You definitely won't leave hungry, the portions are generous and very satisfying. The staff here are so friendly and attentive. They always make sure you have everything you need, and service is quick even when it's busy. I have to come here every time I visit Jax! read more

The rice to fish ratio was way off and the rice was not cooked properly, it was very overcooked. The soup was good and the small amount of fish that was there was good. You have a little paper and you write your number down, the very efficient servers come by and grab your paper and take it to get made. Portions were also manageable which is great at AYCE locations because you are charged for what you don't finish. Dinner Service 6/3/25 The hostess got an attitude when i only gave her a 1$ tip. first of all, she only came to my table once and it was just to bring drinks. the food is good, setting is good but why would i give the HOSTESS a tip?? when we ordered food, she didn't bring it out, she had people from the kitchen bring it (she had no part besides bringing drinks in my service, if anything, the people who brought us the food deserved the tip.) when we were starting to leave she called us back in to say we forgot a tip. when i told her that i was only giving one dollar, she started going off in chinese saying god knows what. Staff are always so nice and I always leave satisfied (and stuffed with sushi, haha!). My top 3 picks are the dynamite roll, the Green Dragon Roll, and the tuna over California roll. I love this place for many reasons. There's not many all-you can eat sushi places around. I like that the portions are small, so you can try many things and order more of the things you like. They have a vast menu of items, including appetizers like soup and edamame, shumai, etc., as well as hibachi, sushi, and desert items! The staff are always so friendly here. Oh dear god where do I start. We were served a RANCID egg roll. The moment it was set on our table we all could smell it. Our friend was brave enough to take a bite, he almost had to leave to puke. Our server was constantly rude, very short, left in the middle of us asking question. Later after not getting any service for a while we were already pretty frustrated. We asked for our bill and admittedly..tipped maybe 12%. As a server I do feel bad tipping low but when the service is rude, not helpful and barely present, I have no choice. We then left the restaurant and were LITERALLY CHASED. We turn around and there is a hysterical screaming lady pissed off that we tipped low. She screams something about the tip and comes at us trying to pin the f-ing check book on our chest. A police officer drove (randomly) and stopped and asked if everything is okay. She got scared and ran back inside. We told the police everything was cool, and that was the end of that. Needless to say I have never gone back and never will. read more

Loud music, employee's yelling loud, sushi was not rolled tight, asked a few questions and had an employee trying answer our question at the top of his lungs. We almost left in that note. This is not a relaxing place to dine. It's high stress, high turn over. It's AYCE for $18.99. You will be charged 50 cents for each item you over order and do not consume. I agree with this. It saves wasted food. I prefer to go to a quiet restaurant with soothing low music playing. The green tea was the star tonight. I will update review next time I dine in. I highly recommend this place! My fiance and I came for a spontaneous date after work, and my expectations were easily met! For $20.99 per person, it's an all you can eat restaurant! $27.99 if you want more premium food, but the $20.99 was perfect! I got a ginger salad, hibachi chicken and veggies with plain fried rice. He put next to salad 3.99 and then drew lines out to the side saying total was 11.99 for all. When I went to pay it was $16 for my small plate of food. My husband order a salad and hibachi chicken and was given the to eat plate of food. When we went to pay it was $12.99 for his. If you are wanting AYCE it's 20.99 or 29.99 for premium. Our son got ayce his favorite thing was the ginger salad. Stay away from the salmon. It was very fishy we have to send it back. Came here last Tuesday after an issue with a different restaurant I wanted to try was out of what I was only able to eat. They seated us right away. I didn't realize it was an all you can eat sushi spot when I got there. The lunch is all you can eat for only $14.95. They have small papers you write the number of the item you want to order and on the table they had placemats for the seats. I quickly filled mine up with what I wanted. I ordered miso soup, ginger salad, salmon and tuna nigiri, as well as a salmon roll, rainbow roll, and some others. The person I went with ordered beef fried rice, miso soup, and their own cooked sushi. I had to help them finish their miso since they didn't like it as well as one piece of their roll. They charge 50¢ a piece for unfinished food, so we made sure to eat everything. They were quick to bring everything out. I used the yum yum sauce for mine. I would definitely come here again for the price. The only thing I would add is yellowtail to the menu. read more

We've been coming here for years, so I can't believe I never wrote a review! Fuji is hands down one of our favorite places! Now with that being said, I do think that it is important to point out a few things.. this is a no-frills, all you can eat sushi/hibachi joint. Items are made to order (compared to a buffet where the items sit out until someone grabs them), but service is usually quick and to the point, and ambiance isn't really a thing here. The quality of food is good for the price, but don't expect a 5 star fine dining atmosphere. We love it because we know what to expect- a get the most bang for your buck type of meal. There are two sets of menu items, regular for $17.99 and an upgraded version that has the same base items, as well as some extras for $23.99. We always do the premium menu, which includes shrimp fried rice/noodles, sashimi, and my favorite- the volcano roll. Your seat is given a number and your orders are placed by writing down your seat number and menu items on a sheet of paper. The servers are basically all hands on deck, and whoever sees your sheet first will come pick it up, take away empty dishes, and/or bring your items to you. Again, it's a no-fills environment, so service is always good in the sense that I get what I need quickly, drinks are always refilled promptly, and everyone is polite.. but just don't expect the kind of service where they chat with you for 10 minutes about your life story and hobbies. Another important thing to note is that they will charge you for uneaten items. This is basically done to prevent waste and gluttony. We always order what we can eat, and have never had a problem with a few extra noodles or one or two pieces leftover at the end. I think the real issue comes if you over indulge with a "all you can eat/buffet" mentality and there is a noticeable waste of food. All in all- the variety and value is great. Just know what kind of place you're going into, and I think you'll be very satisfied. We always are! read more

Absolutely terrible. Near empty parking lot on a Saturday night should have been my first sign. Soon as we walk in waiter sitting down on his phone watching videos loudly. Takes us to our table, usual routine, cool. Me and boyfriend order soups, appetizers, regular sushi and deep fried rolls. The deep fried rolls come out FIRST (which i have never seen at AYCE sushi) and they are lukewarm and super bready. Immediately turned off. Next comes deep fried gyoza and crab rangoons, the rangoons you can tell could be filled so much more, the gyoza was normal looking but i didn't enjoy the taste personally. Soup comes next, lukewarm. Takes a while for regular sushi to come, but when it does, we notice there is more rice than anything else in the roll, like actually too much. We promptly paid and got out of there, just simply took our loss but we will never ever be back. Luckily we weren't charged for leftovers, i think the waiter caught on we weren't enjoying our food. Loved this place! The staff was so friendly and attentive! You walk in and are greeted by staff to grab a table. There are pieces of paper with pens on the table. They hand you a menu with numbers next to each item. You have 8 spaces on your paper ans you write down which item numbers you want. They will give you a seat number which you'll write in your card. Also to not waste food you wil get charged for remaining pieces! I started off with 4 items then they gave me back my same paper so I wouldn't waste it. I made it to like 7 items before I was full, if I had longer I'd probably would have ordered more. Food was all amazing!!!! Loved all the sushi options I tried, loved the fried and steamed gyoza. Please note on the menu there is a pink section that says it will cost more if you order anything from it. One of my friends orders the soft shell crab Roll and didn't realize it. While we were there, there was another customer who was yelling at the host because he was overcharged as well. The cucumber in their spicy crabmeat salad was roughly chopped instead of julienned and their servers need a lesson on how to serve nicely We used to be regulars because this was close to our daughter's school then, but we won't be back at this location. Ok, I've been here more times than I've checked in... More than I would like to admit. This place my friends and my go to whenever we're super hungry. This is an all you can eat sushi place. I really enjoy feasting on the appetizers and the hibachi. They're amazing at making steak and fish. I don't know how they marinate it, but it's so addicting. Pro tip: if you order the hibachi salmon, know that 1 means that you're getting like a quarter of a fish filler, so order like 4 for a full fish fillet. Their sushi rolls are mostly fried. I think it's to make it so that you fill up faster. They usually give you 3 pieces per roll order, which is nice since you have more. Room to taste other items on the menu. Their nigiri sushi is really nice. Their salmon is so nice. The only thing I would like to point out is the fact that the sushi rice is just plain rice and they don't add mirin or rice vinegar like traditional Japanese sushi. My favorite are the hand rolls. Even though they're rolling, they're really good quality in comparison to all of their fried rolls. So, if you're expecting authentic sushi, I wouldn't recommend coming here. This place is run by Chinese people and not Japanese. So I'd compare it more to a standard Chinese buffet that focuses on sushi. They do tend to lose orders, which gets a bit annoying, but at the same time there are so many people and so little staff that one can't completely fault them. I would say the reason why I took off a star is the fact that the atmosphere is Completely ruined when they scream and shout across tables to direct customers, and the fact that they really they to rush you to leave when you slow down eating. Sometimes you aren't done yet, but their staff have just lagged or they lose your ordernd they think you're done. read more
