I wanted to like it. I really did. The folks in there are nice, and the service was friendly, but that's where the good stops. I used to love Fulins. They had a great local chain around Mid-TN that was always warm and friendly inside, slightly nicer than your hole-in-the-wall Chinese/Asian fare takeout spots, but less expensive than a PF Changs or a Pei Wei type joint. No so anymore. Honestly, none of the locations I've been to have been very good for about a decade. Save Murfreesboro's Fulin as the worst, by far. We only went in b/c I found a Local Flavor discount and we decided on a whim to whip in and use it. The restaurant is run down and many of the booths and such are falling apart inside. The food we ordered was not always what matched the menu or what we actually even ordered. Eggsample: we ordered Hot & Sour soup. It was (1) not hot, at all, and (2) it was egg-drop soup, not H&S. We ordered the appetizer sampler and were expecting the sticky ribs, but he said they were out and substituted dumplings (gyoza) instead. All three of my party's entrees came out at different times (despite two of them being the same dish), and none of ours except for ONE was hot at all. Mine was actually not only not hot at all, it wasn't even warm. It was stone cold. I should have sent it back, and I'm not sure why I didn't (so shame on me, I guess), but I wasn't feeling particularly confrontational that evening when I was the last of my party to get my dish and they were already 1/2 way through eating. I opted for the Kung Pao/beef & broccoli two entree special, the wife got a spicy beef dish, and the kid also got Kung Pao. The wife's was the only one that was truly hot (temperature wise). It wasn't that spicy, however. Mine was so cold by the time I got it, I thought they'd just left it in the window for about 10 mins before bringing it out. We also ordered a hot Sake bottle, and didn't get it until we were all 1/2 way through our meal. It was average, at best. The next day, none of the three of us felt good, but naturally I felt the worst since I half-ate my cold Kung Pao. Overall, I felt like we wasted our money, still spent a ton, despite having a coupon/discount, and we felt sick the next day. The folks are nice, and I wish this place was better, but it just wasn't. One of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. The staff were friendly but it was obvious that they were undstaffed as they were literally running between tables. Our booth was filthy, a dried noodle was stuck to the wall and the cracks between cushions of were filled with crumbs and food scraps. When our water came the glasses were hazy and had dried specks of something stuck to them. We should have left then. I ordered the fried rice, the pork in it was charred and had an overwhelming burnt flavor that I can still taste hours later. In today's service department this is rare these days so thank you for making us feel like we walked into your home. Salad and miso soup were good. My son enjoyed his murfreesboro roll but my other son was disappointed his California roll didn't have cream cheese. I ordered sashimi dinner and aside from the fish not of good quality, bland, some were frozen too. My son commented that it was like icecream--not the good kind. Ordered a simple combination fried rice with beef, chicken.m, and shrimp! #1. They hand your food outside of a side door draped in plastic as if you're in a back alley!! #2. When i got the box it was super small as of it was only half the size of a regular large order of rice. #3. This was the kicker - after opening the container when I got home it was only 2 shrimp in the entire box! When i called to address the issue the lady tells me that they only put 3 pieces of shrimp in the combo friend rice, but if i would have gotten shrimp fried rice only that I would have gotten 10! WTW??? So you only put 2 dang on pieces of small ass shrimp in the box and then cheat me out of one??? NEVER AGAIN!! Plus the rice was extremely dark as if it was old! I'd give this restaurant zero stars if that was an option. The food is very good but the customer service is horrific. The last time I took my family (2 adults, 2 teens), the owner brought out the food for three of us and ended up delivering my son's meal to the wrong table. After waiting and asking about his food for nearly 30 minutes, the server finally admitted they messed up and were trying to make a new dish. The rest of us were done when his food finally arrived - no apology, just an unceremonious drop of the plate on the table. Later the owner came to deliver the bill and the total was wrong. When asked about extra charge and sharing that we were disappointed in the delay that night, the owner himself started yelling at me (at the table in front of dozens of other customers) and claimed it was our fault. How? That's anyone's guess, but we promised him we would never return to the restaurant following his bad behavior. He then proceeded to argue with my husband again after we paid the bill. I completely understand that people have rough days and perhaps they were struggling that night. But rather than try to improve a bad situation, the owner acted unprofessionally and lost a long-time customer. Shame on you for treating your clients badly. read more

Eventually we will learn to stop going to Asian restaurants in Tennessee after 6:00 pm. Their signs may SAY they are open - but that's typically not the case. Last night was my latest Murfreesboro disaster. Slap me for trying. We should have had a PB&J at home, but home was an hour away and we were starving. My husband and I work hard, we work late, and therefore we eat late. We had an hour's drive ahead of us, our favorite Thai place was closed, so we saw FULINS on a corner and decided to give it a try. It was encouraging! They had a big neon OPEN sign in the window. We pull in. Park. I jump out of the truck to check the hours on the door, and YAY! They close at 9:30! It's currently 8:45 pm on Sunday, June 5th. We go inside ... first weird thing ... we were seated on the side of the restaurant with no other customers. There were at least 5-6 booths with guests on the other side. The seating wasn't a problem. It was just odd. So we sat down, and the owner or manager came and immediately wanted to take our order. Normally speedy service is very much appreciated, but we literally just sat down, menus were tossed at us, and she hovers at the end of the table and asks twice what we want. We said we had never been there before so we needed a minute. 10 minutes later she returns. I think we were forgotten since we weren't visible and seated with the other customers. Anyway! We ordered. At 9:05 the busboy puts plastic cones next to our table and starts to mop the floor beside us. A dirty mop with cleaning solution does not make for a good dining experience. We asked him not to do that please - he continued on and ignored us. After a minute or two, we got our silverware and stood up looking for the server or manager. I guess they were in the kitchen (?) so we walked to a different booth in an area with no mopping. They eventually figured out we had left or moved and came over to the new table. The male server/owner said "we're closing, so he's mopping". I said, it's 10 after 9:00 - I thought you closed at 9:30? He wasn't apologetic, just ignored me and walked away. Then the wife came over and said the guy mopping doesn't speak English. Hum? Really? Latino guy about 24-25. Can you figure that one out? Let's see? Why wouldn't a worker that looks like he's from another country not speak English? Not very hard to figure out!! If anybody cares! So the guy walks away, the worker keeps mopping, and the female / manager turns off the music. It's 9:15. We don't have our food yet. That's pretty unfriendly. We thought they were going to turn off the lights! About a minute or 2 later, our food arrives. Husband's dish was fine. Mu Shu Pork. Not spectacular, but ok. I ordered the Thai Basil Street Combo. Keyword: BASIL. I will include a description from the menu. Shrimp, chicken, beef, and crab with BASIL, in BASIL sauce. What I got was a plate of onions!!! A plate of yellow and red onions with red chili flakes. There was no crab. No beef. 2 shrimp and about 5 slivers of chicken. Chicken was about 1/3 a nugget size. Take a look at my photo. This is what I got. I should have been upset about the missing crab and beef - but I was actually upset there was NO BASIL. I love basil. There was no basil in a basil based dish. I totally understand restaurants run out of items, but I should have been told they were missing items to make that dish and given an option. But no, they took my order and I paid $18.00 for onions and chili flakes. The whole visit was a miserable experience. My husband took my onions (he's a sweetheart) and we shared the Mu Shu Pork. We didn't complain. What would be the point? It was 9:20-9:25 by now. They had done everything except turn out the overhead lights. We actually boxed up the food and left out of misery. Never again FULINS. Never again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I gave them 2 stars, but it really should have been one. read more

I've been to the Brentwood location of Fullin's and liked it. My dad and I decided to try out the Murfreesboro location while we over that way. Overall it was ok. I ordered the general tsaos chicken and it was a pretty large portion. That being said, I thought that there could have been more flavor. It was kind of bland. My dad got the kung pao tofu and thought it was good. The location was odd, and the decor inside was just kind go out there. They had these neon blue wave lights, and it just didn't flow. In addition to that, the prices were too high in my option. I thought it was pei wei quality food and PF Changs prices. Also, when you check in on Yelp an offer pops up. That being said, the offer is expired. They let us use it, but just be aware of that going in. read more

The sushi here is incredible! Thinking about their godzilla roll makes me drool! I find that their sushi here is a lot better then the other places I have tried, or recall. Our waitress was very humble and nice. The place itself isn't much to look at inside, it's rather dark and shabby.. but the sushi definitely makes up for it! Passing through and tried to find the best Chinese food nearby. There were so many to choose from based on the location. I chose this one because it had only positive reviews. I did not try the sushi but their crab Rangoon was good. Lots of crab in it. We loved our entrees. He got general tso chicken, I got beef broccoli. The only downfall was their side of noodles and side of fried rice. We liked that we could substitute what sides we wanted but they tasted like they didn't have much flavor and had been sitting awhile. Other than that, the service was good.
