1 star. I've been coming here about every two weeks and have visited well over a dozen times. Today was my last. Anyone who has eaten here enough knows the game: the more pieces you order, the smaller each piece mysteriously becomes. Fine--it's their restaurant. What wasn't fine was having a man who appeared to be the owner/manager come to our table and tell us, "We can't serve you more fish." When I pointed out there is no limit listed anywhere on the menu, his response was: "If we can't make any dollars from you, we don't need you to come." Imagine running an all-you-can-eat restaurant and openly telling paying customers they're no longer welcome because they're eating too much. If your business model depends on shrinking the sushi and cutting people off when they actually use the all-you-can-eat menu, maybe don't call it all-you-can-eat. And if you can't handle customers eating what they paid for, then maybe you're not cut out to run an all-you-can-eat restaurant in the first place. Don't worry--I got the message. Gave this place one final shot for lunch today. The nigiri was super small like you could shove 3 of them together to just make one nigiri at any other sushi place in town. WAKO did not disappoint for our dinner last night. The all you can eat dinner was as delicious as the lunch all you can eat... We were a Party of 3. We were sat quickly and our drinks order taken as well as the start of our amazing sushi dinner. For dinner, it includes a soft drink, or your first alcoholic beverage. They had a wide variety of things you can have for dinner, which I thought was pretty cool since I really don't eat sashimi. My favorite thing here that I tried was the salmon skin salad. I also liked their shrimp tempura roll. Everything came out nice and quick and the kitchen item that I ordered came out nice and hot. We have been to this place once a month for five months straight and then decided to take a break for a few months. When we returned yesterday, we were a little disappointed that their sashimi portion became so tiny. This is an AYCE so we can place orders many times. There is no reason for them to dice the pieces and slice them so thin. It's almost like they cut each piece in the pictures (10 months ago) into however many pieces we requested. They looked amazing when the server brought them to the table, I was so excited until I took a bite and noticed they were all burt and chewy, upon turning each one over, that were perfectly placed on the plate, burt side dow. We were very thankful that they had the chicken Katsu, which is basically like fried chicken it was perfect for my kid who doesn't like to eat unique things. Some friends and I decided to try their all you can eat menu to start our day off. When we arrived we were immediately seated with some menus. Unfortunately, off the bat we all noticed the dirty menus and it wasn't due to aging. Most were sticky and stained. A wet cloth would of easily fixed this. Our server then presented herself. The best items we ate out of the batch was the godzilla roll and the vegetable tempura. If you want to risk your mental health at this place try these. Might make your visit worth it. Overall, this place has lost our groups business. I don't recommend this place to anyone. If you want something similar and ten times better quality, try Sushi Kingdom in Madison.
