The food was amazing. We loved our meals and the options that were at this restaurant. The ambiance was so nice - we brought our 2 year old with us and it was perfect for a nice family night out on vacation. Our server was so kind and helpful with menu recommendations and possible changes. LOVED the chocolate torte cake and raspberry sorbet! Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back on our next vacation.

Went here for a girls dinner and were blown away with how great the food was. We got the Arancini as an appetizer it was sooo good we had to order another one. I got the duck and my sister got the special grouper and we couldn't pick a favorite we loved them both so much. The vibes were immaculate. Our server Janie was so sweet and attentive. We 10000% will be back when we're in town.

I'd like to kick myself for how long it took me to follow my friends recommendation and come here. For some reason it just didn't impress me from the outside. As soon as you're seated the atmosphere perfectly backs up a menu that spans all the way from pizza to nightly specials that will rock your food world. We were in town for two nights and ate there the first night-steak with beautifully whipped potato's and lobster ravioli topped with a huge piece of salmon. Fish and steak cooked exactly as we asked. The next night we sat down in a different restaurant, ordered our drinks and after looking at the menu, we literally walked right back to Full Circle for round two- mammoth lasagna, a scratch made gourmet pizza and fried oysters that can only be described as the definition of perfection. This review is coming from someone with this opinion about food "I don't like food. I love it. If I don't love it, I don't swallow". Seriously... you will not be di

There are few restaurants in Morehead that have the level of quaint and cozy ambiance *and* delicious food that Full Circle has. It's one of our favorite restaurants in the area, and the competition has heated up in recent years. They serve a great mix of approachable yet upscale dishes. American, some Thai mixed in (dumplings, pho, pad thai), and killer wood fired pizzas. My wife and I tried the beet version of their caprese salad, which had a beautiful presentation. It was almost like a layer cake but with beets and mozzarella, surrounded by arugula, mandarin oranges, etc. We also had the dumplings, which were solid, and a cup of the vidalia onion soup. The star of the show was the pizza, though. Since we were at the bar, we got to see the wood fired oven, and the pizza came to us piping hot. Ordering a pizza without marinara can be risky, but the duxelle base on the mushroom pizza was absolutely fantastic. Since that pizza doesn't have meat by default, we added bacon, and it was so dang good. This is probably the best date night spot in the area. Cozy interior, friendly staff, cool decor. Can't wait to come back.

The fish seemed much fresher at Blue Ocean and the smell was so much milder. I had a lot of questions and the guy at the counter was so helpful and friendly! After pointing out the specials board, first they tried to tell me it wasn't on special and then after she physically went outside and read the board that THEY put out there, they said that was only for their frozen fish. I did not ending up purchasing the fish but called later just to see if their stories would stay consistent and they said over the phone that all flounder was $5.99/pound and that they would weigh it after the cleaned it. I then told her I was the same person who tried to purchase the flounder earlier on special and she still made up different stories about what I was trying to purchase vs what was on the specials board. Felt like they were trying to take advantage of a local because maybe they thought I was a tourist. Very disappointed and will be taking all my seafood business to Captain Jim's instead. Also, tried to purchase blue crabs last summer and after they checked, they were all dead from being too cold in their freezer. @Blue Ocean - do better!

To my surprise, there was no wait and plenty of available seating. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside, with a spacious dining area and a beautiful covered outdoor section overlooking the water. Watching boats cruise in while eating fresh seafood is a pretty tough way to have a bad meal. Atmosphere - 5/5 Southern Salt absolutely nails the casual coastal vibe. This isn't a place where anyone is judging your wardrobe choices. Think shorts, a polo, and a healthy appetite. The waterfront views and incoming boats create the perfect backdrop for a relaxed meal. Cleanliness - 4/5 The only minor issue was that our outdoor table was still slightly wet from an earlier rain despite being under cover. Not a big deal, and I almost feel guilty mentioning it. The restrooms, however, could use a little TLC. They're overdue for a remodel and a deeper cleaning. Nothing alarming, but enough to notice. (Urinal looked like it has been out of order for years.) Parking 5/5 Parking is free for patrons, which is always appreciated. The lot across the street was partially full when we arrived, so I could see it becoming a bit of a scavenger hunt during peak hours. On a Monday, though, it wasn't an issue. Service - 5/5 Our waitress, Isabel, was exactly what you hope for when dining out: friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. She kept our drinks topped off without us having to ask and even brought a refill of the hush puppies. Any server who delivers additional hush puppies is operating at an elite level in my book. Food Quality - 4/5 The seafood was excellent. The flounder tasted fresh, the shrimp was grilled perfectly and seasoned well, and both were exactly what you'd hope for from a waterfront seafood restaurant. The hush puppies deserve their own paragraph. They were phenomenal. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and dangerously easy to keep eating. If they sold them by the bucket, I'd have questions for myself later. The cocktail sauce and tartar sauce were also noticeably better than average. My one small complaint was the fries. They weren't quite fresh-from-the-fryer hot. A touch more salt wouldn't have hurt either. Still perfectly edible, just not operating on the same level as the seafood. Value - 3/5 Our total for two meals (with waters) came to $65.06+ tip paying cash. Given the quality of the food, portion sizes, service, and atmosphere, I thought the price was reasonable. It's certainly not cheap, but compared to nearby seafood options, it feels like a solid value. One useful tip: Southern Salt charges extra for credit card payments, so bring cash if you'd rather keep a few extra dollars in your pocket. Final Thoughts Southern Salt delivers exactly what most people are looking for in a waterfront seafood restaurant: great views, friendly service, fresh seafood, and a laid-back atmosphere where nobody is trying too hard. Aside from fries that didn't quite reach their full potential, this was an excellent experience from start to finish. Overall Score: 5/5 I'd gladly return for the seafood, the waterfront views, and, most importantly, the hush puppies that somehow managed to become the star of the meal.

Step one should be the same for everyone. Get there when they open at 4:45 because damn does this place get busy quick even on weekdays. When I rolled into the parking lot at 4:40, I had probably 15-20 already at the door. Step two, if you get there at open, consider bar seating. Clam Chowder - Scalloped Scallops - Key Lime Pie I'll just keep it at this. Is anything I ordered going to reinvent the culinary wheel? No, and one could argue that the only negative here is that most everything is on the pricey side. But with that said, everything was extremely consistent, everything was brought out perfectly timed, my cup never runnethed (sure, it's a word) empty and the bar staff are all excellent conversationalists. Also one big upside, the ambiance. The bar area is kept dark as it should be in any bar type situation and the music selection was mostly a fantastic mix of classic R&B and Blues. Can't tell you the last time I enjoyed seafood while listening to John Lee Hooker (well, I can and it would be never which is why my mind was sort of blown). Groaney, groan, groan on some of the pricing but the overall situation here is worth the five stars. I get the hype and I get why it's always busy. Also, kudos to the owner who was up front and making sure to thank every single person that walked by/out the door. Very classy.

The menu is creative both for food and drinks, and you're definitely going to need a reservation to get seated. While you're there expect top notch service, and food that is really good, but at least in my experience, falling a bit short of the excellence the prices are aiming for. We were all kind of hungry and thirsty when we came in, having spent the day on Shackleford island, and being shut down at every turn by the restaurant we stopped into first hoping to have some appetizers (they were out of everything we asked about). This boded well for Parrott's, we got several apps and cocktails in addition to our mains. Unfortunately, it was really those apps that I felt fell short. Our waiter talked up the lamb meatballs to the point where we were really expecting to be blown away, and ultimately, they were pretty ordinary, and just two of them, making it hard to split amongst 6 people. Same could be said for the pork belly bbq skewers, they were small and didn't thrill any of us. The main courses made up for those shortcomings, a couple of us got the grouper, there was a scallops and grits order, a delicious pesto chicken pasta, and some crab cakes that I ended up being pretty jealous of because they stole the show. These mains were a good size helping, and each robust in their own ways, showcasing creativity and excellence in the kitchen. In the end, for the amount of the bill, you expect everything to be top notch up and down, and it fell short of that to me... but not so drastically so that I wouldn't recommend the place to others, with the caveat to have appetizers somewhere else first.
