Our absolute favorite meal on our entire vacation at Banks grill was from here. The menu has items that are unique. We had a very hard time deciding what to order. So we decided to be pigs and order EVERYTHING WE WANTED and share. We were so glad we this. The beignets... Holy hell. Wow. Sticky bun. Sigh..... the Island French toast with perfect bacon. Mmmmmm. Creamy smooth grits made for the gods... yeeeees. And the delightfully flaored chicken fingers perfectly pairer with other breakfast or lunch items. The relaxed ambiance is the perfect place for brunch while your on vacation at the beach. I wish we had gone here first instead our last day of vacation- we would have eaten here EVERY DAY. Brunch Perfection! I finally know why this diner-type restaurant is so popular and highly rated. From the minute we walked in, it was clear that these folks have perfected the restaurant experience. Staff were all so friendly and so proud of what they are accomplishing for us. 100% sanitation. From what I can tell, everything is made in house. Even the steak sauce that came with my Steak & Eggs Shack, the side of queso I got to go with it and the hot sauce on the table. Hot tea is served with maple syrup if you want to sweeten it. Coffee is kept refilled. Food is outstanding. The biscuits are huge and surprisingly light at the same time and come with whatever daily spreads they have made for them. I got an omelette with grits and my husband got chorizo & eggs with a side of bacon. I'm so glad that the waitress advised me to taste my grits first before putting anything on them because they were perfect as-is. My omelette was fluffy and delicious and my husband's meal was one of the best breakfasts he's ever eaten. I was able to snag a piece of bacon off his plate and it was crispy & flavorful. I wish I could give the Banks Grill 10 stars for two reasons. 1. The waitstaff. They get first place because they're the heart and soul. Not only was our waitress attentive and friendly, we watched them all interact with the clientele. Everyone was so warm and personable, truly above, beyond, and genuine. 2. Our food was incredible. I put my diet aside and went for the Land and Sea Benedict. It was a seasonal special. No regrets. It was ridiculous and I mean that in the best way possible. (See picture). My hubby had the pancakes and they were also really good. I was so obsessed with mine, I forgot to take a picture. Also, the tropical mimosa was great. Highly recommend. My love had the country fried steak and he liked it but it wasn't his fave. Needed some more flavor, but it's usually topped in gravy and he didn't have the gravy so I'm sure it took away from the overall flavor. The banana with that sauce rocked!!! I ordered two eggs over easy with bacon and the grit fritters. The eggs were great and the fritters were delicious. The bacon didn't really have a whole lot of flavor and very little salt in it. The inside of the restaurant has a casual beach vibe to it and the cost is $$. This is one of our GO TO places when we are at the beach. Every single time we visit, they knock breakfast so far out of the park and the service is excellent. It's tucked away in the corner of a busy shopping center, but don't let that deter you from going in! They offer MANY different things on their menu and have wonderful daily specials. We ordered the build your own omelet with home fries, The spicy fish with tomato gravy/eggs/home fries and 2 mimosas. Their servings are so large, you have no chance of leaving still hungry. Everything was flavored perfectly, and my husband discovered the heavenly flavors of true southern tomato gravy! Their mimosas were just okay, but still were worth a try. The entire staff is ALWAYS kind and cordial, even if the place is slammed. Prices are MORE than reasonable for the portions you receive. When I think of beach breakfast, this place will now be at the top of the list. Upon recommendation from a family friend, we came here for breakfast and it did not disappoint. The island French toast was amazing, and the biscuits and gravy with eggs was great too. Any place that has a nice, heavy coffee cup to drink from is a good place in my books. The service was good. Not too many tables inside, but they do have tables big enough to seat a large family. The ambiance is very laid back - slightly reggae with a beach mural painted on the wall.
