Outside sliced ,the only way to get it for me

Had the outside sliced bbq plate with beans and slaw , meat was juicy and had the little char on the outside it was delicious. I prefer mayonnaise based slaw but this vinegar based was really good especially with the beans , they also had a spoon of chow chow on the side it's a little spicy and next time I'll ask for more , it goes great with the meat two buttered and grilled hamburger buns and two pickles, all very good , I finished it off with the carrot cake that's very good . Manager brought my food and asked if everything was all right during my meal , that's always a nice touch . Job well done

We stopped in for some barbecue while driving through. It was a safe place to stop and stretch. We ordered three pulled pork sandwiches. They are fresh and tasted good. The onion rings were 5 for 5$. They were big, but over cooked. The okra was not ok at all. I hate to say that the sides mean just as much as the entree. The service was very friendly. This place was not busy so it was easy to get in and out.

New location in Pelham located in the same area as Gold's gym and Dairy Queen. I had already eaten, however it's always a good time to get a Full Moon Sweet Tea. As I entered there was only one table occupied, as it was about 2:00 in the afternoon. First thing that stands out is how clean this location is. Spotless! Floors, tables, tea refill area, and even the garbage area were totally clean. Two girls behind the counter were talking as I approached, but they quickly stopped talking and took my order. Very friendly and quick service. Typical Full Moon in that they have walls that are covered in memorabilia from Alabama and Auburn as well as supporting local schools and their sports teams. Looking forward to a return visit to try the food. Based on my first impression I have no doubt they will perform well and the food will be as great as was the service this trip.

I also had the smokehouse burger, and it was hands-down one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked just right. What really stood out beyond the food was the overall experience. The staff was incredibly nice, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing, which made us feel right at home. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable, and even the bathrooms were spotless, which always says a lot about a place. It also hasn't been very busy the times we've gone, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Even so, the food came out quickly and was still hot and fresh, which is the best of both worlds. We actually loved it so much that we went back again just a couple of days later, and it was just as good the second time around. If you're looking for great Southern food, friendly service, and a laid-back dining experience, Dale's Southern Grill is definitely worth a visit. The ONLY thing I didn't like was the kids' chicken finger meal. I tried one of the chicken fingers when biting it to give to my toddler, and it wasn't good. The taste was weird and it was gummy. I ended up not giving her them.

Different specials are run daily. The restaurant owners are tech savvy, and specials are posted every day on Facebook. The folks who plated our food were incredibly warm and lovely. They gave my dad an extra corn muffin when they saw he got beans and greens. Can't do that without cornbread! My mom and I both got vegetable plates. We had squash casserole, Mac and cheese, yams, fried okra, mashed potatoes and gravy, and yeast rolls. I know, I know - we went light on the vegetables. Their squash casserole is talked up as their specialty, and it was very good. Nice squash and onion flavor. Mac had great cheddar flavor and wasn't overcooked. Delicious, actually house-made yeast rolls. And the fried okra, heavily breaded, has an awesome crunch! Mashed potatoes were the weak link; I've had much better. Yams were the perfect balance of cinnamon and sweetness, but without being overpowering. My dad got the fried snapper with pinto beans and collards. He liked it all. My mom thought the pintos were too salty, but I just thought they had a nice meaty flavor. Corn muffin was a little dry. The fried snapper was crispy and not fishy at all! Big win there. We all agreed we'd return if we found ourselves in the neighborhood again.

Only concern was I asked for Champy's sauce with the tender basket, looked at it in the parking lot and noticed it looked like their honey mustard instead. Tried it, confirmed it tasted like honey mustard, then went inside with my receipt asking for it to be switched for Champy's sauce. Spoke to a waitress (not the one who helped us at drive thru) and I explained that I wanted Champy's sauce. She said "uh huh" confused and I held up what I had saying it tasted like honey mustard. She said yes Champy's sauce is honey mustard based. I told her I've been to (and worked as a teenager) at Champy's before in Tennessee and the color was more yellow than the orange I'm used to (like they added too much honey mustard) and again it tasted exactly like honey mustard. She explained that the Champy's sauce (and red heat) recipe was different at their location. I took her answer and left. Not sure if I indeed had honey mustard (they come in the same containers) and she didn't want to double check or if their Champy's sauce recipe really is just primarily honey mustard. I think the people of Alabama are missing out though on the champys sauce from the original location in Chattanooga, not sure why there is so much variation between locations. Other than that, everything was great!
